I have debating writing this review for awhile. The start of my experience with Seal with a Kiss was truly wonderful. I had a fantastic time picking out my dress and felt so comfortable with Jessica and the staff. However, after I paid for the dress I felt like my experience really changed. My dress was estimated to arrive in early October and I was trying to coordinate flights to have my mom visit, which I had shared with the manager. My dress got stuck on an intense back-order, which wouldnt have been a huge deal however they would not communicate with me. I had to keep calling and felt like a crazy bride because they never took the initiative to contact me (my wedding was also destination so I needed my dress much earlier anyways, which added to the stress of the back-order) I am sure they were working hard to get my dress but some communication would be a nice step in customer service. Lastly, I was mostly disappointed by my alternations. I was truly in love with my dress and it is no doubt that they have lovely dresses! However, after spending about $450.00 for alternations the train on my dress was a mess! The slip showed the whole time and popped out of the bottom so badly. Three different times with different groups of ladies we tried to retire the train to look good, however to no avail the EXTREMELY expensive train looked awful. My slip shows in most of my wedding pictures and I am truly so sad about this experience. The shop has amazing potential and some of the most lovely dresses I have seen. However, I would not recommend their seamstress and would love to see their commicatioms with brides grow, you have enough pressure as is and your dress shop shouldnt be one.

Overall, an awful experience. The push to buy things was tremendous - including dresses that were 6 sizes too large (I didnt have time for alterations), seemingly because the sales woman really wanted to make a big ticket sale. The prices were almost across the board outrageous - the same items on-line for far less. But really, it was the increasing pushiness to purchase things, even in the face of my increasingly blunt "I cannot afford this." that drove me batty and left me with a really bad feeling about the couple of items I did buy. The comments made by the clerk to pressure me became nearly insulting. I found later that I paid hideously too much for one item - the exact same designer, etc, retails at other shops for $200 less - and when I attempted to return it (actually, just not pick it up because it was still at the shop and get a refund), I was told it was not possible - all sales final - even if I never had the item in my possession and it was not altered in any way!!! And there was a definite undercurrent of unfriendliness even in the face of my nervous and happy excitement. Go elsewhere. Run elsewhere.

This shop does not understand the value of customer service. My wife had to order an expensive "designer" bridesmaids dress from here sight unseen (the bride made a last minute decision since the order time is 3 MONTHS!!!). Over the phone they told my wife that dress size x would be good since she tried on a very similar dress in that size. My wife, being cautious ordered one size up just in case. The dress arrived 3 weeks before the wedding and the size was completely wrong. It was also made very poorly and was already tearing at several spots along the seams. Instead of trying to help us fix the dress or find a new one they were quite rude, and blamed it 100% on my wife even though they advised us that ordering over the phone would be "no problem." The BEST they could do was give us $15 worth of fabric for "free" and charge $50/hour to remake the dress as best as they could. After much debate we came up with an alternate solution and never altered the dress in any way, but they refused to take it back for a return. Please avoid this place. It isnt worth the time and money.

Im shouting this out across social media because I am so impressed with Sealed With A Kiss. The designer/owner, Susan Sorbello designed the perfect dress for my Masters degree graduation. I told her the basic style and fabric and feel I wanted and she drafted a pattern that exceeded my wildest dreams. I am a voluptuous figured woman who still wants to be stylish, yet classic and its hard to find what I want in retail stores at any price. She fitted my dress perfectly to my body and it looked sensational! Everyone thought it was not only beautiful, but also well constructed. It took into account my body flaws and minimized them. The dress not only looked great, it felt great, like a second skin. I was comfortable and felt beautiful. It was so well worth the price! She makes recommendations to help you make the right choices and be satisfied with the end results. I must add, she has designed other dresses in the past, which made me the belle of the ball. She also designed a well fitting custom bathing suit. There is not a price I wouldnt pay for her talent.

I took my future mother-in-law to this shop looking for wedding dresses and we did not have a good experience. We were limited on the dresses I could try on and the staff was not very friendly. At one point, I had to go looking for the sales person to come help me, and we were the only customers in the store. I did not like the layout of the store with the windows being where people could walk by and look into the store. At one point when I was trying on a dress the sales person whipped off the strapless bra she had me wearing right in the middle of the store while people were walking by, looking into the windows. Would not recommend it to any brides looking for a fun, relaxed, experience while looking for dresses. Did find my dress at Celebrations in Lynchburg and had a reversed experience finding the staff especially friendly and warm!

My experience could not have been better with West Main Bridal. I am currently living in NYC and had shopped at all the major locations for a wedding gown in NYC. In NYC, the sales associates were pushy, you could usually try on only 4 dresses, prices were marked up and the experience was stressful! It was a breath of fresh air to walk into West Main Bridal and be able to enjoy the experience. I could try on any dress I wanted (the selection was great!), staff was so friendly and accommodating, prices were affordable and I found the perfect dress! Once the dress came in, Susan (also the owner) was a superb seamstress. She fit the dress to my body perfectly and even did a last minute fitting right before my wedding. West Main Bridal helped to make my overall wedding experience wonderful!

They have beautiful dresses for sure, but I had an awful experience when it came to alterations. Every time (only twice to clarify) I requested a small change, the owner looked at me like I was being totally unreasonable. When I ordered the dress, I was in between sizes and they recommended the larger size, which sounded fine. But when the bodice was too big, and the waist and bust needed to be taken in, it was difficult and uncomfortable for me to ask, because she just seemed so unwilling and disinterested in helping it look as best as it could. My pictures turned out fine because I had a great photographer, but in most of them, I still see where the dress doesnt fit and it ruins it for me. I would not really recommend this place.
