My wife and I spent a portion of our Saturday morning checking out the numerous options at Atlantic Organic. Our experience was great -- Andie was there to provide great (but laid-back) assistance and info, explaining the differences between different types of mattresses and the pros and cons of what he sells. He encouraged us to take our time resting on each bed that we were interested in, making us feel perfectly welcome and comfortable to go at our own (slow) pace. When we decided to make a purchase, Andie continued to offer great service and work around our schedule for delivery and setup. When a minor mistake with the order occurred, Andie and his crew went out of there way to generously accommodate us while we waited for the correct shipment. Overall, were super pleased with Atlantic Organics services and way of doing business. Andie was great to work with. And we are so happy about our excellent new sleep setup!

I had a back injury last year and wanted a new bed setup that would provide support for my spine while cushioning my hip and shoulder when laying on my side. I felt lucky to find Atlantic Futon, a locally owned organic bedding store right in Charlottesville. Andie offered plenty of information about the mattresses, mattress toppers and pillows, their durability and what materials theyre constructed from. He helped me customize a setup that suited my physical needs and budget. The Latex Bliss mattress topper turned a firm mattress into a dreamier situation than I couldve imagined. He threw a Latex Bliss pillow into the deal which i wouldnt have considered on my own but now its my favorite pillow to sleep with. (The latex pillow doesnt crowd my face like down or foam, contours to the shape of my head and feels cooler / softer than my buckwheat pillow.) Thanks, Andie ! I love my bed. :)

Don’t be weary of the futon mattress – this is not the lumpy mattress you slept on in college. Ten years ago we purchased the Moonshadow futon mattress for our futon couch, we liked it so much we started using it as our mattress on a platform bed. We recently upgraded to a larger bed and based on our experience with the Moonshadow futon mattress, we went straight to Atlantic Organic for our new mattress. These mattresses hold up well over time and most importantly provide for a restful and healthful night sleep. Unlike a regular mattress/box spring, a futon mattress platform bed does not wiggle around when someone else moves or sag/curve over time. Another plus, the mattress is vacuumed sealed and comes in a box the size of a suit case. I highly recommend Atlantic Organic – the staff are very helpful and they have a great selection of mattresses.

Ive waited nearly two years to write this review because I wanted to be sure that the quality of what Id purchased at Atlantic Organic in cvilld was up to snuff. The latex mattress and topper I bought have been absolutely worth every penny. Previous mattresses Id purchased at big box stores were comfy at first but then started to sag after 6+ months of owning them. My back began to hurt from sleeping unevenly and some nights Id actually sleep on the floor. I told Andie I wanted a mattress that would hold up over time. I bought the Organic Latex Mattress and topper and havent looked back. 2 years later, every night in this bed is amazing. I love the product, and I love supporting Andie and his store. I came to this shop to buy a futon again, finally after years of not having one. Fed up with the mattress shopping nightmare, what a sigh of relief to come in, spend time talking to Andie, get my hundred questions patiently and thoroughly answered, and leave with the most comfortable bedding I"ve had in ages. I could have been in and out quickly but I took my time lying around on my soon to be new futon, trying out pillows of all kinds and enjoying the chilled out and relaxing environment in the shop. Thank you, Andie, for this awesome bed and for being so generous and patient. I love supporting this local shop and having this great futon.

We had a great experience with Atlantic Organic. We wanted a non-toxic mattress for our son and our very happy with his Latex Bliss bed. We found everyone in the store to be very helpful and knowledgable. They gave us a few extra Latex Bliss pillows that we absolutely love. We werent entirely happy with the foundation of the bed and while I didnt expect that they would replace it, they actually did and delivered a new one free of charge. Im sure we will continue to use them in the future and would highly recommend the shop.

I bought my futon at Charlottesville Atlantic Futon in 1988. When I moved from Charlottesville to Cincinnati in 1990, the Futon travelled with me. From Cincinnati I moved to Boston, again taking my Futon. In 2000, I moved back to Charlottesville and I still have the Futon. It is now used by our 8 year old daughter. It is a tribute to its durability and function. For this reason, I highly recommend the service and quality of Atlantic Organic Sleep Shop Jaime Myers

I placed an order mid July and paid for it. I received two emails in early August apologizing for the delay in delivery but promising an ETA by August 18. Since then I have not received another email re: the ETA and two emails and three phone messages have not been answered. It is hard for me to get by the store but I hope to do so this week to see what happened to my order.

Andie and Sydney were terrific. They helped us select the right futon setup for our home and were patient with all our questions. Pricing was as good as what we saw on national websites, and they even had their delivery guys bring extra hardware by the house when we asked. AND the best part, the bed is so incredibly comfortable. My only regret in all of this is that we didnt buy the bed sooner!!!
