First, I should mention that the hours listed on the front page of this Google Maps listing are incorrect. The store is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM. The only day The Pet Cage is closed is Sunday. The "Speciality" listing should probably also include "Cats and Kittens", as I live with two cats, and have always found what I needed here. One of the many things I like about The Pet Cage is its owner and staff. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and will even carry your purchase out to your car if you need assistance. Another is that if something isnt in stock, theyll order it for you if the item is available from their suppliers. Yet another is their avid and active support of the Rutland County Humane Society. I also appreciate that these folks all have pets of their own, and can talk about their experience with various products, including pet food. I go out of my way to shop at this store because not only am I able to buy everything I need, but I enjoy talking with staff. I highly recommend The Pet Cage!

I just bought a new English Mastiff puppy, and went into the Pet Cage looking for a specific food for her. Though they didnt have it, the staff were extremely helpful in finding me a food that is even better than what I was looking for! The staff was very knowledgeable about the needs of my dog. I was looking for treats with some specific qualities, and they were amazing at helping me make decisions. I am thrilled to be able to support this local shop, and my dogs are thriving on their new diet!

A wonderful place! Friendly, passionate, and helpful staff. Great selections on cat and dog supplies. Our puppy was fitted for a harness inside, we were helped with selecting nutritious, natural food with several samples if she didnt end up liking/digesting what we got. Suggestions on toys that will last, and helpful all around advise without being imposing or condescending. Highly recommended and a reminder of why we enjoy supporting local businesses.

Love the store, the staff, and all the products it might be a higher price then what you pay at walmart but its better quality food, treats and toys for all the pets, if they dont have what you need just ask Todd if he can order it for you. always super fair with pricing and they have even given us sample cans for our four boys. Cant say enough good things about this place.
