Initially I found the staff very welcoming an inviting. When I showed up for the appointment I was greeted with a smile. When ordering new frames state I only needed Frames or my glasses and i would use the frame for my sun glasses. This apparently made the gentleman visibly upset. That should have been my first warning. I ordered my glasses and lenses during that the sales person tried to sell me on every type of technology they could fit in the lenses. Each time i said no it was clear the person selling was getting more and more agitated. I was told it would take two weeks to make and receive the lenses and frames ***This location does not make lenses on site*** Two weeks go by I receive no calls, so after 5 more days or receiving no calls, I called their location and asked i my glasses arrived, the women who answered the phone sounded like she could not be bothered to check. A moment later she came back and said they arrived today, it was early in the morning so I have my doubts on whether or not it really did arrive the day I called and had them check. After getting my new glasses I noticed a couple thing off about them that raised concerns. Despite myself and my friend agreeing there was something off. There are obvious imperfections. luckily they do not interfere in eye site as of right now, but the do leave a rainbow glaze thats visible on the bottom half of the lenses. After all the is set and done with my glasses I give them my sunglasses. Once again I am told 2 weeks. Two weeks go by an nothing. 3 weeks go by still no call. I start calling each day and the answer is always "No". Finally a little more then a month later I received a "Yes". I was asked when I wanted to pick them up and said shortly like in an hour or two. I was told no you need an appointment. I have a several hour drive and I need them. So I told them really need them and they say come on in. I show up and the women at the front desk s beyod rude with her tone when she asked me for my last name. Then announced there were 2 people in front of me. 15 minutes later no on moved. people on the desk were still waiting for thei sales person an one of the people in front of me left because he could not wait any longer. its now almost 5 and no one has changed position. I walked up to the desk and asked if there was some reason I could not just pick up my sun glasses and leave. She tells the other women to make sure I dont owe anything and then grabs them a hands the to me. Why was that process so hard? She looked over the lenses and handed them over to me. I get home and take them out to look them over, the lenses are overly thick, thicker then I think they should be (that fact had no baring on my score). Right away I notice a blank ink on the lenses that is causing shadow to appear when I look through them I tried to clean it up nothing I used worked. There is an obvious scratch or bubble on the lenses left lens. There is also a - 0 indentation in the lens. Upset about the condition I called and was immediately met with indifference. I was notified those marks minus the scratch are for progressive lenses...I did not order them nor have I ever used any. So I asked why they were made progressive, was told that is what was ordered. So now I have to go back and will have to reorder the lenses. Never again will I return to this location. Next time I will go to a place that makes them on site and that have people that are always happy to see you or at least dont act happy to see you but then turn indifferent once they have your money.

Staff is not welcoming. Multiple times I have gone in for an appointment or to pick up frames and all I have received is attitude. This is at the Burlington office on College Street....There is one older woman in particular who walks around with a "my **** dont stink" look on her face. She does the fitting for glasses, and when I chose a case that she didnt recommend (I wanted a colorful plastic one, not a beige leather one) she seemed insulted. The ophthalmologist is snobby and elitist, and nothing special in the way of knowledge and care. I dont feel comfortable asking any questions. It always seems like its such an awful burden for them to answer. My glasses cost $400. I could have gotten them for half the price and with much better service had I gone to Walmart. After the warranty expires on my glasses I am taking my money elsewhere. Note: they also seem to not appreciate customers who are "hippies". They dont know anything about you, but if you have a piercing, afro, dreadlocks, or anything alternative dont expect to be treated like a worthy human being. The older lady looks at me disappointingly every time I walk in with a hint of motorcycle gear. Remember kids, wear a suit and tie if you want your eyes properly poked at!

Horrible customer service! I was sent to the Burlington site from the Essex office to look at frames. I was told I could go over any time... Apparently not! I walked in the door an hour before closing time, and was lectured (with attitude) for not having an appointment. I tried to ignore this as I independently browsed for frames. When I found a couple pairs, I went up to the desk where the woman just flipped out on me. She started telling me I didn't make an appointment, they didn't have my rx, and so on. I asked if she could call Essex for my rx... She reluctantly obliged, but only let it ring once before hanging up saying there was no answer. She then told me she would have to send the frames to Essex and they would need to fit me. I was dumbfounded... I was never told i needed an appt and I even left work early to be respectful of closing times. I had switched to Eye Care of VT because it was more convienient, however, after this run in I will be going out of my way to go back to a practice I know has a friendly staff!

Once again a wonderful experience. Everyone was very professional and kind. Always greeted with a smile and willingness to answer any questions. Dr. Philips once again addressed my concerns and patiently allowed me to explain what my needs were. As always he provided me with options that made a huge difference as far as my appointment type and solution for my contacts. He made suggestions that were very helpful and made me feel relaxed. I had my preliminary testing as always and it was done with a smile and kindness. I am returning in a month for follow up. I look forward to my continued care by the people at Eyecare of Vermont.

I have been going to Eyecare of Vermont on College Street for about 4 years. I love it there. Every time I have wanted a new pair of frames they more than helped me. They helped me find two pairs of frames that I absolutely love. If I no longer have a pair it is because of me, not them. They have even helped repair my glasses after a dog ate them. Eyecare of Vermont also helped me start wearing contacts. I can get them in by myself and cant believe that I havent been wearing them sooner. I have tried at 2 past eye-care places to wear contacts and their great customer support worked wonders for me. I love it there!
