I cant recommend advanced vision highly enough. I have had glasses since I was 7, and Ive lived in a lot of different places, so Ive seen my share of optometrists in my life. I can say without hesitation that the exam I got from Dr. Puma was the most thorough, detailed exam I have ever had. The equipment is state of the art here, but the thing that impressed me the most was the care and dedication that Dr. Puma obviously has to his patients. My eye pressure came out high in the screening test, as it always has. Ive been told that Im high risk for glaucoma by eye doctors in the past. This time, Dr. Puma rechecked my eye pressure in the exam room, and then checked out my corneas too. Turns out I have thick corneas, and the higher eye pressure is because of that. I could have worried about glaucoma risk for ages, but now I know the reason my pressures are high. I got progressive lens glasses, and I absolutely love them. Even though my main prescription is for reading, I can just leave my glasses on all the time now, which makes work a lot easier because Im not taking them off and putting them back on all the time. The optician was extremely patient and helpful, and as a result I think these are the best glasses Ive ever gotten. The warranty is great, too, I dont have to worry about buying more glasses if anything happens to mine in the next 2 years.

Dr. Weintraub was professional and courteous, and the equipment is impressive. Unfortunately I found other aspects of Advanced Vision to be disappointing. Before seeing Dr. Weintraub, one of his assistants assessed my eyesight using the high tech equipment. Only after using the Optomap™ Retinal Exam (alternative to pupil dilation) was I informed that the cost of this exam would be an additional charge if I chose to use the images. Otherwise, the images would be deleted. I would have preferred to have been informed of the additional charges up front because I would have selected to omit this exam altogether and I dont like to feel like I am being sold to at the optometrist. Afterwards there were some billing issues. I learned that Advanced Vision had billed my health insurance rather than my VSP vision coverage and had overcharged my copay by $10. They were good about refunding it, but its best not to be overcharged in the first place. Finally, I was told by the office that I would qualify for visually necessary contacts through my vision insurance, and the following week was told by the billing representiative that this had been relayed to me in error. Although I liked Dr. Weintraub, Ill be looking for a new optometrist next year.

I went to Dr. Weintraub for a contact lense fitting because I had difficulty wearing contacts when I was younger and wanted to try them again. Dr. Weintraub refused to examine and fit me. He said, "in his professional opinion" I should not be wearing contacts...it would be a danger to my eyes. I promptly went to Sears Optical where the nicest doctor fit me for contacts. After a few days of wearing the contacts my eyes turned red and watery. I called Sears and described what was happening to see if I could get in to see the doctor. When I descripbed my condition over the phone, the receptionist suggested that I might have an allergy to the preservatives in the contact lense cleaner. I switched to preservative free cleaner and drops and I am now wearing conatacts daily...and comfortably for the first time in my life. So...in my professional opinion...go to SEARS...or anyone else in Burlington for eye care.

I went to see Dr. Puma after having a poor experience at another eye care establishment. I was most impressed with the up to date equipment used to check my eyes. Dr. Puma spent all the time I needed discussing my eye care. Previously I had decided that I would have to buy magnifier lamps etc. I am now seeing better than I have in years. I am really happy with Advanced Vision Care. Everyone from the front desk to the examiners were most friendly and accommodating.

I love the way Im treated at Advanced Vision Care. Dr Fitzgerald talks directly to me and not down to me as others have in the past. He clearly explains all of my options to me and if I dont need to make any changes, hell honestly tell me that. The staff there are very caring and so patient with me when I take forever to choose new frames. Theres plenty of free parking even though its in downtown Burlington and I never have to wait to be seen. Thanks!

I have been going to Advanced Vision Care for years. I have a complicated prescription anyway and recently needed cataract surgery and have a hint of molecular degeneration. Dr Fitzgerald handles it all in stride and has referred me to a specialist when necessary. I can count on him and his staff for fast, thorough and courteous service every time.
