Ive gone to Eyecare of Vermont for sometime now, mainly for insurance reasons, and have for the most part received pretty good service. Nothing outstanding but never so terrible it makes me want to pull my hair out. Sometimes their phone answering is a bit too slow though. When I broke my glasses and needed to get them replaced, I lucked out in that when I called to set up an appointment I got to see a doctor that day since I didnt have any preference for doctor. I got a new prescription AND glasses that same week which was fantastic since I need my glasses to see distance. Unfortunately the prescription ended up being too strong but Eyecare was very helpful in that they got me in for another appointment two days later and replaced my frames and glasses at no extra charge. Im much happier with my new prescription now. My only other con about Eyecare is that their frames are rather expensive. Theyre all name brands like Gucci or Banana Republic. My frames were on the lower end at $160 - not including the cost of the glass and I still think thats pretty expensive. I dont think I saw any for less than $120. Overall though, Id say theyre provide good service.

I like the place a lot, good people as far as I can tell. What did strike me as slightly off-putting may not be their doing, but its important to recognize that charges add up quickly. Id have given five stars if they set my expectations better about how much things would cost. I was looking at a new pair of rims, followed the instructions, stayed under the budget that they explained (what was to be paid by my insurance). All good. Then I needed lenses. Would you like special coatings? Color changing? Damage Resistance? Everything adds to the price. And, then, with my insurance there was a co-pay for the lenses. And then there was another co-pay for my office visit. Depending on your insurance carrier, these things may not apply and you (reader) and I may have different opinions on what is too costly, but Id like them to be more clear with how the charges might pile up as different options are considered. As a consumer, its hard to make decisions about what you want to afford when its not clear as day.

Ive been a customer here for 8 years ONLY because of the location and convenience of their downtown office. Ill be taking my business elsewhere on account of the front desk women who are clearly unhappy people and hate their jobs. The staff consistently forgets to place my contact orders after I call and Im stuck waiting an extra week. On top of that its always some story or MY FAULT as to why my order hasnt shown up. But let me give you a specific example. A year ago I was undercharged $35 after an eye appointment so instead of letting it go they sent me an invoice. Thats fine, I was happy to pay it however, they sent the invoice of $35 to my previous address ONE YEAR after I had updated my records with them. Needless to say I never received it and they CONTACTED A COLLECTION AGENCY! When confronted about this I was reprimanded not by one but by three of the front desk women. The doctors are great but I think they are oblivious to the client facing staff and their complete lack of customer service skills.

Very poor service overall, I called them an hour beofre ariving to double check all was good I am glad I did. I found that they had canceled my appointment. They dont offer to schedule me with another doctor or to even offer to put me on their short list if a spot opens up. Supposedly someone was supposed to have called me but no one did and it was my fault by the tone I got. Do I get the next available slot in their books who knows had to wait 2 more weeks for the next slot they offered only to find out that again there was a scheduling issue. This time when I called the time reported to me was not what they had in the computer. Guess I will find a new eye doctor with staff that have better customer interaction skills.

Lori from Essex branch also the office manager I believe his name was Brian treated me with such disrespect. I ordered contacts from Lori who ordered me the wrong pare which cost me $80. The correct pare of contact lenses for me only cost $50 they refused to refund the $30 so I ended up paying a extra $30 for nothing. They said the box was opened! They were rude and very unprofessional

I have been coming to Eyecare of Vermont for years. The staff are professional,thoughtful, and kind. I feel comfortable and l know they listen to my concerns. I have been seeing eye doctors since I was three and Dr. Eriksson is the best one I have ever seen. I trust his expertise and appreciate his thorough approach to caring for my eyes. He is always responsive to my concerns.

I came to Eyecare of VT mostly because they are in-network for my vision plan, and I couldnt be more pleased -- friendly and professional optometrists, and large selection of frames priced within the limits of my plan. Also, because they take appointments for both frame selection and pick-up, I was never left waiting.
