The condition of the this mall has been sliding downhill since the opening of the gateway in the early 2000s and the opening of City Creek just a few years ago. A questionably large amount of the prestigious stores that once inhabited the mall have vanished. I went to this mail in early September (2016) to see the newly opened Google Fiber store, which was great; hopefully this new store will bring attention to this mail and entice more stores to move in, since half of the stores there are empty. This mall is desperate for a remodel. One complaint I regularly hear is that the lighting is lackluster and insufficient, this causes a very uninviting effect. For example, one of the times Ive been there, I wasnt sure if the mall was open because the lighting was so dim. The only store that has a healthy about of lighting is the new Google Fiber store. I recommend only going here to see the pretty nice book store and Pottery Barn; otherwise, the mall provides a medium to view what "luxury" shopping was like before the advent of the newer aforementioned establishments.

Overall: 3/5 stars. Once proud center, now pretty quiet. Some higher end shops, but little reason to stop in with the other, more general purpose malls more in more central downtown area. Unique atmosphere, beautiful grounds with plenty of parking. Overview: Trolley Square was the old home of Salt Lakes trolley street cars. After those disappeared, the remaining buildings were converted into a shopping mall. There are a number of shops here aimed at a higher-end, trendy clientele, and these are the people that tend to congregate here. There are some mid-tier, nicer restaurants that have been here for a very long time. The layout of the center is segmented into different buildings, with pretty courtyards inbetween them. Unfortunately, this center was the scene of a shooting a number of years back, and the mall as a whole hasnt fully recovered.

So we go all the way up to Salt Lake just to see a band that Trolley Square had already approved to play a show inside, Mad Max and the Wild ones. These guys tour the world and are a great band. About 100 people came just to see them from as far at Price Ut. They lug in all this heavy equipment just to play a 45 minute show. But Trolley Square shuts them down after ONE SONG!! As all the fans look on in horror at how RUDE the lady that shut them down was. These were the only people in this abandoned mall and Most of them would have spent money, I know I would have. But I will never spend even a dollar their. Also on a side note they have security everywhere chewing out children for being kids eyeballing everyone as they cary guns in a place they claim to be a family place to shop.

I really wish Trolley Square could be the place it was in its 70s and 80s heyday. This was the unique and upscale mall in the city. And it was funny, receiving national attention as a historic reuse of the citys former trolley barns. Changes in the late 80s tried to make it fit the mall mold, and things went downhill from there. Worth a trip for its excellent local bookstore, cool card shop, and other local shops and restaurants. Please support them. But the magic is gone and various attempts at improvement by a string of owners dont really help. Cant go home again, but there has to be another way to keep this important Utah place viable.

The stores at Trolley Square dont really appeal to many. Theres three reasons to go there. Whole Foods, Rodizio Grill and maybe to walk around and see the old building. There are a few other restaurants there that are okay and if you bank at Wells Fargo there is a branch there. Oh and Google Fiber has a store there. But nothing that really makes you want to go there accept the afore mentioned. If they had more restaurants and a movie theater, Id be there much more often. But I live just around the corner so it makes sense.

Trolley Square is one of the most unique, beautiful, interesting and excellent places in all of SLC. It has some of the most fascinating stores anywhere, and with places like Tabula Rasa and Cabin Fever, I do most of my Xmas shopping here every year. The restaurants are wonderful, Trolley Barbers are first class, and it has some of the best jewelry and clothing options in town. The improvements on parking and infrastructure over the last few years have also made the logistics of visiting just that much easier.

The shop owners are all so incredibly friendly and are ready to great you the moment you come in! It feels like a little family! The food is great and I highly recommend either The Old Spaghetti Factory or Desert Edge Pub. Management is always willing to help if you are looking for a venue to host an event. Ive done photo shoots at trolley square and never had an issue working with management. My clients all love the atmosphere and design of the buildings, both inside and out.

Back again for my 2nd rating. Trolley Square continues to remain one of my favorite places to shop and be. The classical structure of what used to be a Trolley station, now turned into a rustic featured mall. You absolutely have to stop in to Spaghetti Factory for there lasagna by the way. Rodizio, grab some friends and head there. And if youre in the mood for some unique laughs and fan made stuff, stop in to Cabin Fever.

This is another of the beautiful shopping locations in the Valley that cant seem to maintain its vendors. Entering the mall is strangely difficult and hard to navigate once youre inside. Once inside, I felt as if I was trespassing because no one else was around and a lot of the shops are empty. Im not saying that you shouldnt go. Im just saying that you should be prepared for a nice atmosphere and a lot of silence.

Its like a ghost-town here at Trolley Square. There are a few upper-end stores still in business, but mostly empty spaces. We found one shop that had some fun throw-back novelty items but the clerk was so involved in his phone that he didnt even turn around to help us with our purchase when we were ready to buy. So we left the item on the counter and walked out. He never even knew we were there.

Even though this place is not as lively as it once was 15 years ago (back when they had farmers markets and other random fun stalls), this is still a good place to find some interesting stores and boutiques. Of course, you have the Deseret Pub, Rodizio Grill and the Spaghetti factory as well. Parking is pretty easy if you dont mind parking on the south side of 600s and taking the bridge over.

I love the uniqueness of this mall and the shops are nice but if it is busy and you have to take a number two and if you dont know what I am talking about I am not going explaining it other than it has one stall in one of the two bathrooms and the second bathroom is individual. For a mall that is just plain terrible and very uncomfortable if you bring small kids or babies.
