First off the infamous clam chowder is a joke. Yes its creamy and thick as it should be, however its missing some pretty important ingredients like CLAMS! POTATOS! FLAVOR!. I literally had only (2) small chunks of clam in my entire bowel, I was not the only one either, the guy sitting next to me at the bar has same issue. When I sent it back the waitress told me "this is how they like it here". Well Salt lake people clearly dont know what good chowda is. Next up: blackened Halibut at 40.00 a plate, what a disappointment. Over cooked, no juices flowing at all, I actually had to use a KNIFE! to cut it. Enough said. Yall know how to ruin some really nice fish and soup...how do you mess up soup?? Oh wait its salt lake thats how you like it. Lastly, terrible service, with the above mentioned comment taking into consideration, making me feel uncomfortable, no water is given to patrons of the bar, also a second glass of wine came after my meal was near done. Slow service on drink, Wow... I expec that old routine at a dive bar not at a 90.00 a head restaurant.

My husband and I decided to give Market Street another chance. We ate there on our last wedding anniversary. We love seafood, and coming from the east coast, we keep hoping to find the best out here. We understand that it wont be as good as what you get living on either coast, but Market Street advertises what weve been looking for. Unfortunately on our wedding anniversary, second year trying this place out, Market Street does not live up to the hype. We tried the South Jordan location last year. Tonight was an epic fail for food at the Downtown location. Iceberg lettuce salad with a flutter of pretty greens to fool you, plus a few carrot shavings and oil on top, no flavor. Crab cakes were more breadcrumbs and fluff than Ive ever seen in my life from an acclaimed seafood restaurant. $25+ for a crab cake dish...should be at least 90% lump. I picked through the sad cakes to find the lump. Ive worked and eaten in the business for decades. Take it or leave it... Were choosing to LEAVE IT.

Sarah is not on her game when it comes to customer service shes more interested in getting you out the door and especially on her weekend night! Last thing you want at the end of the week is to go to your old "go to" because you absolutely love and enjoy going there to be treated like heres your ticket, get out! Weve been going there as regulars FOREVER and since it was a Friday night we went there to enjoy a meal and some wine. My boyfriend still had a full glass of wine and so I asked if it was possible to get another one to which she completely ignored us and gave us our check. Its not like the old o.b., its now a cold corporate cold environment. If this is how a local regular now gets treated imagine how youll be treated...Salt Lake City has Lots of restaurants popping up all around that are amazing!!!! Go elsewhere!!! May I mention a few else such as HSL, Mediterenia, Stanza, etc.???

The hostess in the the little Irish hat completely looked her nose down at us and told us that the wait was 30 mins. We waited 40. I went over to speak with her and noticed at least 2 open tables. She offered me to talk to the other side to see if a table will open up sooner. We spoke. I watched them sit a few tables before we gave up and left. We were completely insulted, if they thought that they werent getting their tip cut because of the way we were dressed (here for the comic con), they were sorely mistaken. I bartend and I always tip good service 20% or more! Their loss.

I am in the military and I was on a 2 day trip to Hill AFB. We got some time off and decided to go check out Salt Lake City. We chose this place to have some sea food and have a few drinks but we got kicked out because one of our guys did not have a valid state ID and they would not accept a military ID because according to them it was against the law. All the other bars and restaurants would accept it. We were very disappointed.

Definitely an A+ dining experience for us every time! This visit we enjoyed .99 cent Blue Point Oysters on the shell, excellent, except smaller than usual, the price reflects the size. The service was exceptional, the bread was crusty and chewy, as always and we will return again later this week to enjoy a full meal!

This establishment is a joke. The older woman working up front immediately refused to let us sit down. Would not even ID us. Im 25. I asked to speak to the manager and she rolled her eyes as he apologized. So disgusting. I will never be back and I DO not recommend this place to anyone. Melissa should not work there.

Went in around 950 was told sorry kitchen is closed by some lady who was not even on the clock. Other customers were ordering food. Checked hours they close at 10. She lied to get rid of me. 10 means 10. If you want to leave work at 10 then you close at 9.

Filed a very strong complaint against waitress SARAH N. Was almost ready to call the police. Very rude and racist woman. This place has great potential but their wait staff needs to be fired immediately, especially this woman.

oysters are incredible, especially for being nowhere close to the ocean! I love how they tell you where each type comes from and they will help you choose which youd like best based on your taste.

A favorite of mine, centrally located. Amazing atmosphere and inviting if dining/drinking alone. Add it to your SLC bucket-list. At times reservations are recommended. Fantastic circular bar.
