I have been shopping at the D.I. Since 2004 when I came from El Salvador, always have been good service, but last Saturday my wife bought me a desk lamp super nice for a great price $7 to be exactly and the lamp ended up being a Reptile Lamp or something because it got hot a lot and my wife told men the lamp is probably a snake lamp, Reptile egg incinerator or something. I went to the D.I. To exchange it out because the lamp is not safe for my kids or my apartment, in any moment I said I wanted my money back and I know the sales are final but the lamp is not for a home use is for a reptile tank or something. So I went in and spoke to Dough a manager or supervisor at the store and he explained me all sales are final but the he said with a high tone of voice like if he was upset and I was like sir I am not yelling at you or raising my voice and my wife was present and she felt very violated by this manager. I personal think, Dough should be put back in training or be coach by a upper management so he can learn how to speak to customer. From now on I wont be shopping at this this D.I. anymore

I was taking things to donate on the same trip as thing I was taking to storage. Before I could check a box meant for storage it was swooped up and take who knows where. I tried to find it. A manager tried to help me locate it but it was just gone! My own fault for moving to storage and donating in the same trip. The box contained my entire collection of Boyds Bears Christmas Tree Ornaments including the angle tree topper. I have gone back to see if I could locate my collection to no avail. I had hoped someone would have recognized it as a collection, some still had their sales tags on them, and maybe hold it back a while to allow the owner to claim them. Things just moved too fast that day. I always check to see if a box was one I expected to donate. Hope someone sees this and may.... have them??

I have always felt this was the largest and best-stocked of the various DI thrift stores in Salt Lake valley (dunno about Provo valley). It is the central sorting/donating facility also. Clothing is generally in much better condition than they used to sell 10 yrs ago, and usually put on the floor with the seasons (such as not selling coats in the summer, swimsuits in winter, etc). Jeans range from $6-10 depending on size/condition, tshirts about $4, nicer shirts or blouses $4-6, shoes $4-10, belts $2, skirts $6, not sure about coats. Never had a problem with being treated bad here. (What does a "blatant LDS" person look like anyway?) Nor have I had to deal with management either, usually I just check out my items and on my way. EDIT: I stocked a whole kitchen here when I was in college

Of all the Deseret Industries in the Salt Lake Valley this is in need of new management. The managers and assistant managers are very arrogant and unfriendly people. They look the part perfectly but their hearts are in the wrong place. Poor choice for management, must have friends in high places. Other Deseret Industries have much nicer better qualified management. If you are not blatant LDS or they dont like the way you look in this store plan on being treated like dirt. I myself have experienced it numerous times. Have had numerous ex employees tell me how awful they were treated at this location and switched to different ones.Heads up not nice people!!

For the last few years Ive noticed that their Isnt much of anything here anymore except for a bunch of junk nobody wants. It looks as if the only way to get anything is if you have many hours to sit their and wait like all the mostly Illegal alien people from South America do for the new carts of items to come out and even then there are too many people fighting over the things that come out on the carts. After seeing so many times what gets dropped of at the donation area the only thing i can figure is that most of the good stuff goes out the back door with the employees.

I have gotten so many things I absolutely love from this store! Complete outfits for low price. I have found name brands and good quality and amazed as a tall person I found a pair of mustard yellow pants from banana republic with the tag still on that fit perfectly for $8!! Recently got several quality shirts I LOVE!! And I was so impressed with a magnetic marble game that had all the pieces, just 1 taped item but it was in great condition, included instructions and was only $3! It is so awesome when you construct it- my kids love it! Thank you DI for the big Mom Win!

Went to check out. switch lanes because the lady in next lane had no customers. I put my stuff on counter. And lady in car pulls up next to the check out. The employee Tells me she has ring her up first. But their no one their in line. One min ago. Plus she had about fifteen to twenty or so items compared to my two or three movies. Then I switched lines. yet again. for third time. then girl employee next to her starts talking to her. Took three mins waiting for to finish talking. Took forever just to get out check line. Because bad customer service.

I used to visit frequently to get good deals. lately it has become more of a hassle then a bargain. the customers are rude. I literally had a customer take something out of the cart I was pushing. When I said something they replied well I wasnt sure you were going to buy it. REALLY ??? and the staff seem to not care. I have waited at the collectibles counter more than 10 minutes on occasion just to look at something locked in the cabinet. I have stopped shopping here. not worth the time or hassle anymore

Had the WORST experience here. we bought a chair from the yard area and pulled around back to pick it up. the guys that put it in the trunk STOLE my backpack out of the back. my backpack with my diabetic meds, medical things and money. Things I really needed. money I worked so hard for. it was about 2 hours after I left and realized it was gone. I went back and so conveniently nobody knew what happened to it. makes me so mad. PEOPLE are just total scum these days.

This is by far our favorite DI we have been to, and weve been to most here in Utah. We are happy to drive the 30 minutes or so it takes us to get there from where we live. The part I like best about this DI is the selection. I can almost always find what we are looking for. The clothes are in great condition and many are name brand for great prices. You have to weed through some things, but its always worth the search. I highly recommend this location.

Fairly decent. A lot of what you expect from a primarily used item thrift store. The people working there are friendly although it seems only about 1/5 of them speak English well, which could be advantageous for a lot of the locals in that area as its more diverse. Its definitely well kept, meaning more organized and easy to navigate than a lot of other thrift stores. Less items in the way.
