Growing up in a small town where our primary grocery shopping was done at the local WinCo, I was excited when they came to the Salt Lake area. This Midvale store is no exception, and represents all the other WinCo locations Ive been to. That said, WinCo is about your best bet to get the lowest price on the majority of your grocery shopping. Highlights are all their canned/boxed goods, and their fantastic selection of bulk dry goods. We also love the fresh ground nut butters (located in the corner by their bulk foods). Rawhide dog bones are quite reasonable in their bulk section as well. The bakery department in this store seems pretty solid as well, as weve been quite happy with the baked-in-store breads that weve purchased; donuts are great as well. In general, the two weaker points Ive found at most WinCos are that their produce isnt always the freshest, and their meat can be hit or miss and is often not the quality Im after. But its not a big deal to grab our dry/canned/packaged foods at WinCo for super cheap, get good quality produce at other local stores, and meat from local butchers; best of all worlds. Good aside, weve had consistently bad experiences with one of the checkout ladies at this location; I need to grab her name, but we avoid her these days (has glasses and often has her dirty blonde hair back in a pony tail). I could go on and on about her and how she has disrespected us with her power trips, but I digress. All the other employees there have been fantastic. At the end of the day, we drive well out of our way to make it a point to do the bulk of our shopping at WinCo. We are within a few blocks of a Smiths, Harmons, and Fresh Market, but drive by all those to make it to WinCo once a week. Its been great on our food budget. Lastly, note that they dont accept credit cards, only debit. We used to like using our credit card to get the points and cash back (0 interest and we pay it off each month), but even then, its a far better deal to use our debit card at WinCo than get points on our credit card at another store.

I have a very harsh love hate relationship with Winco. Their prices are great, I save hundreds shopping here versus going to Walmart or Smiths. The employees at the registers are very friendly and easy to talk to. The biggest problem is their food quality. Ill buy tomatoes, a bag of grapes and an avocado and they go bad so quickly, in talking like within the 48 hours of purchasing it should be eaten or it will go bad. If found bugs in my lettuce and the grapes are always covered in dirt. Yes I clean them, but I feel like it should be presented well. They have the containers with the Bulk food and Ive found hair in the ones that are on the floor. (Specifically the normal spaghetti pasta one) Wash your hands when you leave, the carts are caked with dirt and grime and so are the freezer doors. I leave Winco feeling like I need to shower. Now heres what really bugs me is the meat. I shop the longest in the meat section due to the awful quality of the meat. I do have pictures included for you to see what Im talking about and you can see for yourself. Just be careful what youre buying and take your time to pick what you think is best. I am still a continuous shopper at Winco and more than likely will always be.

WINCO is the best. We will go out of our way to make 1-2 trips to WINCO a month. They have quality food, the setup is superb, there is a bulk section so you can get exactly how much you need, they have consistently good prices but still have deals too. All other grocery stores have high prices on everything with a good deal on occasion. WINCO bring consistency to grocery shopping. Any day you can buy a 5 quart bucket of ice cream cheaper than anywhere else. WINCO doesnt accept credit cards but it is well worth it. They also have WINCO branded products in addition to the more traditional brands. For example the WINCO brand potato chips are just as good as Lays but for half or more of the price; including flavors such as Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sour Cream & Onion, Salt & Vinegar, BBQ, and Plain. There will be some items WINCO wont have but you go there for quality, price, efficient shopping, and supporting an employee owned company.

The lady who works in bulk has been the friendliest so far and with great service I will be back. Update: we did go back and their BULK pino beans are the BEST tasting Ive ever had! I bought one bag last time, this time I bought three more!! I found out about what they offer online. A customer suggestion box would be ideal, to find out what the customer will buy the most of. Cashier wasnt very professional or friendly, she wanted me to just tell her the numbers of things to ring up...Instead of putting them on the conveyer belt..

Just yes. If your not a judgy b***h and appreciate good prices and an organized shopping experience, WINCO is so good for the distribution of food and thereby the well-being of mankind. Bag my own? Great! I dont have to worry about my soft things getting crunched or my cold things not getting all backed together. Ive never had a bad experience or dealt with an uptight pretentious or rude clerk or deli or baker at any WINCO. You want to step outside your scared little bubble and shop with real people? I highly suggest WINCO.

Love the prices, plus they have products that other stores dont carry. Meats and produce is way better than the other competitors that Ive seen. Only con for me personally, is they dont sell my favorite snack food, Swiss cheese. And they should have baggers for elderly, disabled, and pregnant women. I know quite a few people who like the store but its too difficult for them to bag because they are one of the 3 mentioned above, so they shop elsewhere.

Great store and great location. Easy to get to with it being so close to the freeway. The layout is nearly exact as other locations so that is extremely helpful with trying to find things. Pricing is great but it does seem a little lower quality than places like Target. But this is a great location to get all of your food needs (provided you arent on a special diet) Would recommend checking it out if you havent already.

Normally I have a decent experience with this Winco. Decent prices in the area, not too crowded, and friendly customer service most of the time. I dont want to say that every employee there is rude because that has not been my experience. However, my experience was completely ruined by an employee (Supervisor or manager) named Ashley M (according to her name tag). I did not enjoy her power trip to say the least.

If youre going to have a 24 hour grocery store you should really make sure that youre able to service customers 24 hours a day and not limit the isles they can walk down and completely block off an entire section of your store I left what I had my cart right in the middle of the isle and left was sick and tired of walking around and trying to navigate all the closed isles and forklifts running back-and-forth.
