I had nothing but extremely high regards for the Lindon Discount Tire, until earlier this afternoon. Ive also had good and bad experiences from different places but usually I havent felt that it was enough to warrant a review. Ive spoken with Chris, a guy whose name I cant remember but I know he loves continental tires and lastly, Bridger. My previous experiences have been great and I had planned to get new tires here. Chris took time to go over the different types of tires available and we settled on Pirelli. Hed mentioned that the store would have discounts in Feb (2 months out) and I chose to wait. Fast forward to February. I got my service done at a LHM dealership and as part of it I got a great offer on tires. In fact they said theyd beat any prices by DT. So I went back to DT and explained why I thought they were great, I needed a good price. So it was a matter of back and forth (with me relaying different prices to DT and the dealership). I know this is not ideal for anyone (especially the back and forth) but if you believe in your product and fair pricing, you should be ok with it. The last conversation I had with Chris Id actually asked if he could lower the price to 700 , which hed agreed to. The dealership countered with extra free services and so I went back to DT today. Well the first thing I noticed was how the person I spoke with behaved. He acted as though I was off-putting to him. He spoke as though he wanted to get rid of me as fast as he could. I mean I usually give people the benefit of the doubt and assume theyre having a bad day but this guy seemed genuinely dismissive, uninterested and ready for me to leave. I was very nice nonetheless and after explaining whats going on, said that I chose to go with them because I liked their tires better. Then he went to to say that there would be no discounts/coupons (these are the coupons Id been asked to come back in Feb for). He said that they were never available in February (even after I explained that Chris had pulled them up on the computer). He never offered to check with Chris or the second guy Id spoken to prior - both had showed me the coupons, or at least explain any of it. It might not make much sense here but this guy seemed disgusted almost - not sure why (I thought it might be because Id been there 3 times). But besides stating that the discount was unavailable without any further explanation, he never explained why others were able to show me those discounts last week - without a mention of their expiration/unavailability. I did not think that this interaction was possible at DT, ever. And Chris, if you read this, thanks for your help. Bridger, next time you disagree with a customer address their concerns. Dont be dismissive. I was very nice to you. Needless to say Im getting new tires installed on Saturday at LHM. At this point (well after this interaction) I cant put any more thought to it.

This review is bitter sweet for me, but shows just how important good service is. For years the manager (Greg I think) has been awesome at this place. Last year for example I brought my new car in to have its winter tires (that I purchased from them) put on and jokingly asked, "So is there a awesome loyal customer discount?" To which we both laughed. Upon checkout I was surprised to see him smiling and my cost was cut in half! Awesome surprise :) Then when they finished, Greg noticed that the sealant they used had made the tires look bad, so he went and applied some tire shine. Said they were slow and it was the least he could do, just dont expect it when we are busy. Fast forward a year. Now Im dealing with Bill... First Bill tells me that compressed air is 91% nitrogen and those new nitrogen tire fill places only enrich it to 95%, So its almost the same thing. I say, "How does a compressor take regular air thats 75% ish nitrogen and make it more pure?" He says, "Regular air is 90% nitrogen, I can look it up if you dont believe me" So I say, "Sure, I thought it was different." He clicks around on his computer for a bit and then says something along the lines of, "I dont know what the big deal is, air is air..." So now Im looking at him all awkward, like... ok? Umm... so is it or isnt it? He just stands there looking at me... Feeling uncomfortable now I go and watch them work on my car. There is one guy doing all the work and like 7 guys just standing in a circle chatting. The one guy finishes and they take my car out front and bring me the keys. I walk out and there is stuff ALL over the tires. I kick at it with my foot and Bill says, "Ya, it can get kinda messy"... Completely different attitude than Greg. Then I get in my car and drive home, half way home my TPMS goes off and says my front left tire is at 28 PSI. I call Bill and he says, "It probably just hasnt reset itself, drive around for a bit and it will turn off." Well the next day it was still on, so I drove back to them and Bill acted all put out. Turns out... they just didnt fill it up all the way. Shoddy work, laziness, excuses and Bill doesnt know what he is talking about and wont fess up to it when he is wrong. I think Ill call ahead first and make sure Greg is in. Hopefully he still works there.

I have always loved Discount Tire but today was a terrible experience. First, they were supposed to have our tires in on Monday. We had an appointment scheduled for 1:00. They told us it would take about an hr to put the tires on. I decided to call before my wife drove down. They then told me the tires werent there yet. I understand that these things happen, although I would have expected them to call and not leave it up to me to verify this. We set a appointment for the next day at 12:30. My wife did show up 10 min late (I know this because I was on the phone with her). They were busy and had a long line so she had to wait in line for another 10 min before getting to the front. When she got up there, she was told that she was too late for her appointment and would be put in the queue. I called up to ask why this was happening and got told that she was over 30 min late. When I mentioned that I knew she wasnt, they told me that even though they are slammed and helping many customers, he managed to look at his watch the moment my wife walked in. And supposedly remembered the exact minute, with a store full of customers. From the time she walked in until the time she left she was there for over 2 hrs with a toddler. I have used discount tires for years (20+) and even talked my wife into us going there even though she wanted to go to Big-O-Tires instead. Since we already had the tires ordered, they will get our business this day, but I think this will be the last time that we use a discount tires. Update: So we looked at our car this morning (the day after the appt) and this picture is what we found. The cap on the wheel is missing. Which means it either wasnt put on tight by Discount Tire, or it wasnt put back on at all. The car was driven straight home after the appointment and not driven since. We will see if they take care of it........
