Didnt do all the work they had 3 weeks to prepare for. Tried to charge an extra 10% for "shop supplies." Bought my car in July 2016. In the 8 months Ive had it, I received 3 recall notices. The first two were some reprogramming that needed to be done, but the last one was something to do with the door latches that needed to be fixed. So I finally decided to take it in to get them taken care of. I called Ed Kenley, and they said the earliest they could get it in would be in 3 weeks, so I set up the appointment for three weeks later. They said that the programming ones could be done real quick but the door latches would take pretty much all day. I told them that would be fine. I also told them that I had an extra key fob and blank key that I needed programmed and cut. They said it would be $59 for the programming, and $30 for the cut. I said that would be fine. The day comes. I take my car in at 8am. The guy in the service department tells me the same thing about how long it was going to take, but then he asks where I got my key fob. I tell him off ebay. He says that sometimes fobs from ebay dont work, but theyd have to charge me even if it doesnt. I say ok, as this is an actual Ford fob, Im not worried, but if it doesnt work, I accept that Im out $59. Six hours later, I get a phone call saying my car is done, but they were only able to do the reprogramming recalls and not the door latches, because they didnt have the parts. They also said that the key fob worked, but they refused to cut the key blank, because they didnt know what it was made of. So it took them six hours to do some reprogramming, and program a key fob. I was pretty annoyed since I had made the appointment 3 weeks ago, youd think they couldve had the parts by then. I asked when they would have the parts, and they told me they didnt know, and Id just have to call back and ask, which I thought was pretty horrible, but whatever. I go to pick up my car, the lady hands me my invoice and the total is over $70. I look at it a little confused since it was only supposed to be $59 for the programming, and I notice theyve added $6 for "shop supplies." I ask the lady what that is for and she proceeds to tell me that they add it to all of the invoices. So I asked why. She didnt know, so she called over the service guy who I gave my car to at the beginning. I ask him why theres a charge for "shop supplies" and he tells me they add that to all the invoices. So I ask him why. He says for computers and towels and everything. So I asked why that isnt included in the estimate, and instead its tacked on at the end. He gets visibly upset and grabs the invoice and stomps over to a computer to print up a new one. On this one, hes lowered the price of the service by 6 dollars, but the "shop supplies" is still there to the tune of $5.50. So still 10% of the total bill. I dont argue anymore since Im already annoyed and its the price Im expecting, I just pay and leave. But be warned, they have a policy here that they charge you for shop supplies, and it added 10% to my bill after they didnt do all of the service theyd had 3 weeks to prepare for.

Totally aggravated, disgruntled customer. I purchased a new 2013 Explorer from Ed Kenley. I also have an Escape. I regularly take my Ford SUVs there for service. When I go its usually routine service, with little add- on selling of parts & service. My Explorer currently has 62,000 miles. Twice I have asked my wife to take in for routine quick lane service and both times the service manager has been vigilant in telling my wife that without expensive parts and service, "she might not make it home". On April 28th, my wife took it in for the second time as I was on a business trip. The service manager prayed upon her fears and tried to tell her that without the $1800 service he recommended that she should not go out of town as the results could be catastrophic. My wife called me very concerned and put a EK Ford CSR man on the phone, he tried to sell me on the dire situation. He said I was 2,000 outside of warranty "sorry". He also said that he has an Escape and everyone knows that with an Escape, Explorer or Expedition you have to have the extended warranty because they all fail around 60,000 miles with the same transfer case issue???? He said said, "some times this is never an issue for the life of the. car or it could be a problem today" Is that not the case with all vehicles? That statement surely did not ensure any confidence in Ford products or Ed Kenley service. I am convinced that that tried to scare my wife into an unneeded and expensive repair. I also have a stack of recall notices too. I wont purchase in another Ford product or do business with EK Ford. Instead of 2 Ford SUVs and one Toyota SUV,........my garage will have 3 Toyotas soon.

Went in prepared with proof of income and approvals from our bank. Brought proof of credit score and bank statements. Got talked into a lease instead and told everything looked perfect. Had us pick out our car and work out the trade etc. 2 hours in he says ok we are ready to fill out and sign the paperwork so you can be on your way. Hours go by waiting for??? He keeps coming back saying everything is great but they are trying to get us an even better rate....which of course makes no sense as we were fine with what was offered. We were being lied to. Ends up that Ford Finance was having an issue with us being self employed and they were all scrambling around in the back trying to save the deal. Meanwhile he keeps dumping merchandise on us to keep us there....hats, shirts, water and pop, can holders. He even offered to pay for us to go eat across the street at Crown Burgers. After being there from 12 noon to 7pm.......we were sent home and told us they would call us in the morning. That next morning.....everything we were promised went to dust. He said Ford is just really picky. Cool. Then dont make promises you cannot keep and lie to keep people around. This is why I came in prepared with an approved loan from our bank. But Ford refused to lower their prices to accommodate the bank (Chase approves on a car to car basis) saying new cars dont get negotiated. Edited: A few days later we did purchase the 2017 Ford Escape SE that we wanted from Enterprise Sales in Murray. They were awesome and honest and it took no time at all.... under an hour. They even used our bank as we wanted. And for much less....

We bought a car from their used car lot and about a month later the check engine light came on. We took it into an auto shop and find out it will be a $4,000 fix. I attempted to contact Ed Kenley about it and I was told I needed to talk to Shane, but that he never answers his phone, but will return his calls. I tried calling him multiple times and left messages , but still have not heard back from him. We needed a car so we took it to Young Chevrolet to see if they could help us out. Come to find out the repair was going to be even more expensive than the first auto shop had anticipated. It was now quoted at a $5000 repair as they found even more issues. One of the people at Young Chevrolet even told us that it was possible their (Ed Kenleys) shop didnt find anything wrong when they looked it over before selling it to us, but that is was highly unlikely. Meaning they probably knew about it and failed to mention it to us. I will NEVER be purchasing a car from Ed Kenley again. On top of the above mentioned issues, after we purchased the car we kept finding things that needed to be fixed and you could tell someone had tried to hide them (such as paper wadded up in the console to keep the lid closed). They have to be one of the shadiest businesses I have ever dealt with. Thankfully Young Chevrolet helped us out by taking it in on a trade in and gave us way more than it was now worth. Morale of the story AVOID ED KENLEY FORD AT ALL COST. They will rip you off!
