I took my daughter here for a piercing because it was close to home and got decent reviews. I am a pretty heavily tattooed person and have been to many of the best shops in DFW, not Tyler. I WILL say the pircing area/autoclave was by far the cleanest part of the shop. First of all, we were greeted by a pair of womens shoes laying right by the front door. A female patron was being tattooed on the other side of the shop, left her shoes by the front door and walked barefoot across the shop. Nasty and tacky!! Second, the shop is FILTHY. I was seriously having second thoughts as soon as I walked in the door. The shop counter is dusty and had finger/hand prints all over it. This shop looked like it hadnt been mopped in MONTHS, dust and cobwebs along all baseboards and corners. The bathroom was disgusting with NO TOILET PAPER AND NO SOAP!!! GROSS!! Lastly, there were two aquariums with large lizards in them - cant lizards carry salmonella? There is no need for pets of any kind in a tattoo shop. I carefully looked over the autoclave area and checked that all implements were packaged properly - they were, which is the only reason I let my daughter get the piercing. On a good note, the piercer was really nice,knew what he was doing and put my daughter at ease. But if any of you Exotic Ink employees read this, please please clean your shop, it was by far the dirtiest shop I have ever seen in over 15 years of getting tattoos.

I dont usually write reviews unless something is really great or really unsatisfactory in this case unsatisfactory is an understatement. From not being greeted to having not 1 but 2 appointments forgotten about after the 1st making sure the 2nd to be remembered and nope. Also called and needed to talk to Garry who charged 200.00 for an outline that looks like it should have cost 50.00 took less than an hour. Its unfortunate that going in for a half sleeve that probably would have cost 1000.00 to just be brushed away forgotten about and completely dismissed. Went to 2 other artists in the area that laughed and said I got completely ripped off for what I showed them and the price being so high. So would think twice unless your just going for something small but even then its pricey. Staff is very rude and unfriendly as well-I understand tattoo artists are not going to be a bubbly bunch but for such an expensive piece of art that will be on your body forever a hello would be nice. And maybe an appointment book. When you have a schedule and make an appointment it should be kept or at the very least called to reschedule. Also be prepared to bring cash, they do not accept credit or debit and they do not give receipts which also leads me to believe in shady business. Every other tattoo parlor in Tyler takes card or cash. Its 2016 a lot of people dont carry that much cash.

For one we had two appointments with Simon Gonzales for my husband and myself at 2:30! We arrived at 2:05 to be there early since we know set up takes a little while! Finally at 3:00 we call to see if he was on his way and he didnt even remember setting up our appointment even after I texted him at 1:00 to confirm our appointments! Needless to say I am taking my business and Money elsewhere! However, there was a nice guy that had his kids up there and if someone else would not have showed up we probably would have let him do the tattoos if he wanted too! Very Unprofessional, just because you do tattoos doesnt mean it is not a business and that you dont have to act accordingly!

Professional, personable, knowledgeable, and well-rounded artists. Even for being understaffed on the particular day we were there, my friend Lauren and I were given the utmost attention and given a wide array of options for the subjects we were looking for. On a more personal note, the business also supports families who have children with autism. Exotic Ink is definitely at the top of our list.

I went because the appointment I had made with The Lost boys was not kept on their end so I Google Exotic Ink and met with Gary he talked me into keeping a price that I wanted to cover he turned into a dream it looks amazing I love the outcome he was very professional and awesome Family man will be going back to Gary to completely re-do my entire sleeve

I wanted an industrial piercing and just walked in the day after Christmas, they were like sure we can do that for you. I was in and out in under an hour. Very professional and very nice.
