I dont typically leave bad reviews, mostly because I understand that employees are usually not reflective of management, but I have to after the experience I had at this location on the evening of 5/27/2015. I approached the store with every intention of purchasing a pair of new shoes after being referred by several coworkers of the quality and craftsmanship of these shoes. The store was completely empty with no employees when I walked in. I walked over to the classic shoe rack to browse and aFter a couple minutes, an employee appeared but did not greet me or even acknowledge I was there. He stood behind the cash register staring at the computer screen. Only after I made eye contact with him, because I had a question, did he make his way toward me. He came up to me (still with no greeting) and I asked him, "are these the Park Avenues?" In which his reply was "no" and pointed to where they were. I said thanks and he walked back to the counter without another word. I felt very uncomfortable and did not ask to try on the shoe before I walked out. He looked like he did not want to be there so neither was I. Im not sure if he was having a bad day but Its been a long time since Ive experienced nonexistent customer service like that, especially at a higher end retail store. I confirmed with my wife, who was with me, that this was very unusual before walking out. No "goodbye" or "thanks for coming in." Except I did say "thanks" out of habit as I walked out.

Great customer service! I spent a good deal of time researching Allen Edmonds and decided to purchase some. I live 200 miles away from the Plano store, but its the nearest to my house, so I decided to make the trip to get a proper fitting. I purchased two pairs of shoes and wore them for some time before realizing they didnt quite fit right. I was disappointed and reached out to see if anything could be done, and was told that I would need to come back to the store. While not the most convenient option, Im glad I did. Russ re-evaluated my feet and suggested a different size and I was able to exchange both pairs! I was so excited that he was able to find the perfect fit for me, I ordered some walnut Strands while I was there!!! The bottom line is that the company stands by their products, and their employees stand by their work. I recommend them to anyone.

Short Version : Thank You ! Full Version : I was there just to "check" Fifth Avenue Oxford Shoe (right before closing time on Sunday) but Russ Richardson not only spent time to answer my questions, he was knowledgeable and helpful. not only i bought the shoe, i also bought the ceder shoe tree (strongly recommended for all your good pairs). I am very happy and I would love to shop with them again. Thank you Russ.

Please do not judge Allen Edmonds by this store. This branch has horrible customer service but Ive been to the factory outlet in North Carolina which was a great experience.
