I had the Grandma breakfast (pancakes, two scrambled eggs, sausage and coffee). It was delicious. The waitress was very nice; she brought us everything we asked for, the breakfast didnt take long to be served. It was cold so they had the chimney and it really gave a "cozy" feeling to the place. I want to go back and try their lunch menu. I did NOT go to the McAllen restaurant, I went to the Harlingen restaurant. The store is kind of small but very nice. I love their rocking chairs but I dont have the means to transport the chair to my home and I drive a small car.

After coming several times and not really knowing what to think of it, I finally decided to try it once more. The employees could be more attentive, but the pancakes were AMAZING! I think this is my new favorite spot when it comes to the cakes, and a breakfast plate fills you up. The atmosphere is great even though its always packed, and the staff is mostly on the ball, even though they do take awhile to come back to your table. Could be better, but the food cancels everything else out. 4 stars mang!

Ordered a salad with Italian dressing, got ranch. I had a baked potatoe with only butter and asked for chives and bacon bits which my server said they were completely out. Not once did i get a refill on my drink. Server acted like she didnt want to be there, she was rude and food was completely off . last time i spend money at a place that left me unsatisfied.

Food was fantastic. Waitstaff was very friendly and polite but not 100% attentive. My husband ordered a meal that had several components on a few different plates and we had to remind them about half of them. Also slow on drink refills and forgot condiment requests. That aside, it was bright and clean and friendly. I would eat there again.

I dont know what Russell is talking about below my review. The food is always great, and fresh. You shouldnt come in here expecting anything ground breaking. The food has always been good, and the employees are always doing their job right. Thats what counts. Dont give a bad rating cause the salad dressing was leaking. smh....

One of the best breakfast places to go to! The fact that they are attached to a store makes it even better. I ordered the Herschels Breakfast and some coffee. While we waited, the wife and I played checkers on the tabletop with some checkers they have by the table. Was a great experience. Also, it is a pokestop!

Work here. The environment is very friendly, with an appel of the southern style. The food is great for what you are getting (environment included). The shop always has seasonal merchandise. My coworkers and managers are great people (besides one) and almost every customer is very polite. Love it here.

Friendliest people I ever met. They greet everyone at the door even those who dont respond back. Service was quick considering the place was full. Food is always great. I enjoy bringing friends and relatives here when they visit from out of town. Nice family atmosphere, need more places like this.

The place has just one entry, you have to wait outside or in the merchandise store next to it. They have a variety of dishes that you cant get in other places but the portions are really small. It has to sell old fashioned food, but looks like regular fast food.

we have been "on the road" for the past 30 years and have been frequenting Cracker Barrels since their beginning. The only complaint i would have about them is the sound of peoples voices and activity are "amplified" because of the building/decor design

This place was decent at best. Not a place I will go back to. I have gone for lunch and breakfast. The lunch was very small portions and average food. The breakfast was good but the cost is high compared to other breakfast spots in the area.

My go to place when I dont feel like eating Mexican food for breakfast, or when I want some nice country styled food. I love their biscuits and their coffee! Servers are very friendly and I enjoy browsing around the store for knick knacks.

I came in very early this morning and waited for someone to come out and seat me. The silverware had water-spots but other than that.... My waitress was very nice. My food came out quickly and was very good.

Waiters always take forever to go back to you. Plus my family and I went, and they had no more plates for the entries so they gave us napkins. What kind of restaurant serves you in napkins instead of plates?!

Went here for breakfast with group of 20, seated in nice back room comfortable chairs good coffee and great service and good selection of breakfast choices food was great. They can handle bigger groups

Always great choice for breakfast. Just expect a wait if u get there later than 8am it gets packed. But they move quickly. Even for lunch its a great choice. Never an issue with any meal.
