They have some of the best burgers around. Their burgers are great and they have a full free toppings bar (which includes cheese, so you really dont need to buy a cheeseburger, though that is an option) which includes chili and beans! I will say though, their fries are kind of hit or miss. My friend and I went on "family night" (free fries and drink with a burger purchase), and since it was so crowded and overly busy, the fries didnt come out that great. They also have a dessert area with some of the best homemade cakes and cookies, my moms favorite os their russian rocks, but I personally prefer their carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes. I would definitely recommend trying them out of you havent before!

Thanks to this wonderful establishment for restoring our faith in humanity. We had just come from having an unsatisfactory experience at another bakery earlier in the day that turned out to be a major disappointment. Fortunately, some kind folks at the hospital - where we were visiting a loved one - recommended that we give this place a try. I am so glad that we took their timely advice, because this place was like the difference between night and day compared to the previous place that we ended up wasting our time and money at. My family and I were so impressed with the scrumptious baked goods, that we ended up going back the next day for an absolutely delicious meal.

Hey, the desserts make it all worthwhile. Best red velvet cake on the planet. More types of cookies than you can count. And my wifes all-time favorite, petit fours! Yeah, they are a little unorganized but they are serving a lot of folks. Monday is College Night when you get a second burger for a dollar with each one purchased. No chili on the bar that night, just beans and hamburger fixings. Turkey burgers are a good alternative to the regular hamburger. The fresh baked buns are excellent. About $5 a burger - almost the same - pricewise - as Jucys or Whataburger. Good place to take the family out to eat a casual meal.

The 5 stars is mostly for the bakery portion of the restaurant. There is a long display of bakery goods - cake, pie, cookies, pastries - you can browse and select a treat to eat in the restaurant or take home. I love the strawberry Napoleon, but all the selections Ive tried have been good. The restaurant portion is a counter order-and-pick-up style. Ive eaten here once and plan to go back. The burgers are huge and there is a separate bar with an array of fixings, including lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and chili, that you can add to your burger at no extra cost.

They have really good burgers and chicken fried steaks here. I really like the relaxed atmosphere as well. They also have a fantastic baked goods section with many varieties of cakes, pies, cookies and other pastries to choose from. Special orders dont upset them either. Because, as far as I know, they dont have a bad reputation for publicly discriminating against anyone based upon the way they are (unlike a notorious bakeshop just up the road that denied service to a gay couple earlier this year).

family in town for thanksgiving. 1st time here, REDUCULOUS SERVICE! 11 of us, we all order food with fries, I ordered a buffalo burger. They called our number, we didnt know which was what and they didnt say what was anything. They forgot some fries. we went back and the guy and cooks behind the counter argued. Like we would fight for $2.00 fries? REALLY? And 1 burger they forgot cheese. Response was, "we gave you what was on the ticket". I will never come back here. Crappy customer service!

One of the best places to eat in Longview! The selection of desserts will kill your diet! Great burgers. My daughter loves the foot long hot dog. They offer beans & chili before food is ready. I like that I get to dress my own burger. There is a potato & salad bar. Unfussy. You dont have to tip. A Longview staple. Alcohol options. You can buy fresh meat & buns if you prefer to cook at home. I always dine in & get desserts to go.

My experience at the Butcher Shop was not a tasty as I had hope. Unfortunately I felt that the burger was under seasoned and just did not stand out to me. The condiments bar is well stocked and the bun was a great fresh baked bun. We visited on a busy Saturday, but the fries seemed undercooks to me. I thought that the bakery was much better than the burgers and enjoyed the couple of cookies we picked up on the way out the door

No. This is not a good place to eat. The hamburgers we had were not good. Meat is lean with no flavor. Just not the right mixture in cuts of beef. Large buffet of fixings does not make up for sorry buns and meat patties. Most condiments are plentiful with a good variety. This is an unappealing veggie burger in disguise. Beans are full of chili powder and disgusting. Small roach near the drink machine.

The place has really, really good sweet tea and its nice that you can get chili right away. Its also nice because the bakery is right there for cookies, deserts after. I love getting something on the way out and then say a cinnamon roll for the next morning. The prices are a little high but they do have specials I believe Thursday.

This is not really a restaurant: it is a cafeteria. There are no waitresses. You order and then are given a number to pick up your order sometime later. You use plastic silverware, get your own coffee, and get your own condiments from a bar. The quality of the breakfast waas described by my son as "school cafeteria quality."

Good food in a friendly atmosphere! We met as a big family group to exchange Christmas presents for the kids since this is about halfway for both sides of the family. All of our food was ready at the same time even though there were so many of us. Everyone was happy with the menu selection. We will be back!

I love the dessert here. Burgers are a little bigger than I prefer, but theyre still tasty! Definitely a Longview staple. I deducted one star for atmosphere and cleanliness. Every time Ive eaten at Butcher Shop the floor has been sticky, and their exhaust fan looks as though it hasnt been cleaned in years.

If its something special, delicious, home food feel that you are looking for; look no further then this place! With its amazing selection of food and pastries you will leave with a full stomach and full heart. The staff is friendly and helps you with whatever you need. I highly recommend it!
