My husband and I were looking to get a LOT of work done. I first found Love-n-Hate online and they had decent reviews. I looked at everyones artwork and was very impressed with the artist Josh. We went into the shop to see if we could talk to someone about our work we wanted. My husband has two tattoos, one on each calf. We want to cover them so that means that we will be covering the whole bottom part of his legs. The guy behind the counter just stared at us for the longest time and then told us Deb would be the only one that could do cover ups. Thats cool I guess, I wasnt floored by her work, but she did a good job with the cover ups. Then I told the guy what I wanted. I had some of my own art work (not tattoo worthy but it was just for inspiration) and planned to cover my entire calf as well. I was hoping to meet Josh but I was sent over to talk to Luis. After talking to Luis, he also recommended that I talk to Deb, and that she would be perfect for the job. So Deb only works 2 nights a week which Im not happy about since my husband and I want such large pieces done but whatever. They told us that we could come back and talk to her, send an email, or we could text her. So today my husband went in to talk to her in person. There are 4 or 5 guys just standing around talking in the front and Debs doing a tattoo. Now we dont expect her to stop what she is doing by any means, but first impressions mean everything, even in a tattoo shop. Deb was full of attitude, very rude and short with my husband, and told him it was a $100 bucks just to talk to her. We will NOT be getting our work done here. For one, why is there only one artist in the shop that can do anything? Are you telling me that all the other guys standing around only do piercings and the stencils that are all ready drawn out for them? Does she charge $100 because after she comes up with something people dont like her work and go elsewhere? Or she only works two days a week so she makes all her money on consultations? Tattoos last for life for the most part, I will not settle with these guys. (UPDATE) Since then we came across Cat Tattoo off of Belt Line rd. There work is AMAZING and blows these guy out of the water!! We will be going there next week and Im SO excited! Definitely look them up if you want more then just the flash art on the wall!!!

I was referred to this place by my cousins wife (cousin in law?) and was not let down at all. In pursuit of my very first tattoo, I called last Wednesday around 2 to see if I could squeeze in that day to get the words Love You More along the inside of my forearm. Its a very meaningful tattoo for me and my family, and I was hoping the experience of a first tattoo would be pleasant. I was not disappointed. The sweet lady working the desk- I cant remember her name- but she was blonde and cute and sweet and had such a great attitude. Then I met my tattoo artist. His name was Jeremiah and he immediately made conversation with me and calmly helped me reach a decision of what I wanted. He was very open and genuine and eased all of my nerves about being in a tattoo shop getting something permanently on my arm for the world to see. The sweet blonde assistant lady and Jeremiah both stayed positive and genuine the whole time. The tattoo was not painful or uncomfortable and Jeremiah was very quick and thorough. Once my hand-written piece was done, I nearly cried. I was so excited to have something so meaningful to me permanently a part of my body. Plus it looked fantastic. This is my first ever online review of anything, because I think theyre stupid. But I felt like I really needed to share my experience at such a great place. Get Your Tattoos Here People.

Walked in to get a simple tattoo. Jamie was next up, he was a nice enough guy and a quick look at his work looked acceptable. He came out with a tracing quickly and went to set up the room. He called me in, the room was nasty dirty and was in very bad condition (crummy shop lights hanging below the ceiling, ceiling tiles missing and broken, other lights out, sewer gas smell) - just bad. Anyhow, Jamie set to work quickly and was done in no time, soft enough touch but my skin reacted like it never had before (over 20 tattoos to date). Im now 2 weeks out and about 1/2 is healing fine while the rest is red, puffy, hot and covered in a thick scab. My skin is beat to hell and Id guess a bit of an infection. I wont go back to Jamie or to Love and Hate, sorry guys but thats my honest take on it. Update: Im now 2 months out and this mess finally healed after 2 rounds of antibiotics. Its still a little sore but the open wound and scabs are gone. The tattoo looks pretty bad because of the scaring and the surrounding skin still shows signs of trauma. Everywhere there were scabs is now a pink scar with no ink remaining. Not pretty

Chris is by far the most awesome tattoo artist around; very talented and pleasant to talk to while hes working on you! The studio itself is very comfortable and clean. They hire only the best, most professional artists. If you have something custom in mind, they have no problem accommodating your requests... Or if you want something original but arent quite sure, theyre great at filling in the gaps until youre completely satisfied. They really stand behind their work too... I had a tattoo done and a year later, some of the pigment started to fade in spots. Chris re-covered the tattoo for free with no problem. I love the fact that you can tell, just by walking in, that theyre well organized and will give you your moneys worth! Although the prices may be higher than other places, its for a reason... you always get what you pay for!!! They are the only tattoo studio I will EVER let work on me!

Disconcerting their sterilization procedures are not posted on their website. The shop wasnt the cleanest Ive seen. When asked if they change out drills between clients they said "No, we just change the needles which are disposable." Not sure how sanitary this is because in the past Ive always seen artists remove drills from a marked sterilization pouch. The artist was nice, polite, quick and did great work. I should have taken more time deciding however on actually getting a tattoo there or not because I am worried about lack of sterilization of equipment. I wouldnt recommend the shop and I wont go back because I know there are cleaner shops out there.

If your looking to get quality work, this is your only possible choice! Whether its your first tattoo, or your well versed in this sub-culture...Love and Hate is the place to go in North Texas. Lois Soto has done all my work and I couldnt be happier! Years have gone by and the ink still looks like it was put in yesterday! Ive been up there several times, the entire crew they staff is awesome, and the studio is clean and welcoming. Polite, business savvy, tattooed degenerates, who else would you trust to put something on you thats forever?! I cant say enough good things about this place. "Dont be a Dick, Be a Dude!"
