This post will not be removed until our situation is resolved--after several months our couch remains propped up on stacked books per The Dumps request. In short, we purchased a couch as part of a larger purchase several months ago. It was delivered damaged and missing a middle support leg. The truck drivers told us to immediately call The Dump and inform them of the problems, as we did. They later sent out a repairman, who fixed the damage to the best of his abilities. They did not send him with a replacement support leg, as The Dump had to confirm we were telling the truth that the couch was actually missing the part. This was confirmed upon his visit and he ordered the part. In the interim, he requested that we stack books under the couch for support -- which continue to remain there several months later. Over the months, The Dump has repeatedly failed to (1) process the order for the replacement part, and (2) communicate with us about the status of the order. As to processing the order, they repeatedly claim that their China-based vendor is not communicating with them, and thus the process is delayed. We suggested that they send us the missing leg from any of their currently in stock couches, and subsequently have their special order replace the part on their own inventory. They refuse to do this. As to the latter, The Dump repeatedly fails to contact us with updates, as promised. Our account manager has promised on multiple occasions to call us on specific dates with status updates, none of which she actually followed through with. After the most recent failure by our account manager to return our phone call on the Monday before last, we called the store yesterday and requested that another employee review our file. They asserted that short of extreme circumstances -- defined as involving physical violence -- they could not alter another employees purchase order files. We demanded a manager review the case. The employee allegedly talked with a manager, who was reviewing our file and promised to call us later that day. Shockingly, we never received a phone call and The Dump is closed today. We purchased the furniture to host family and friends on two different occasions throughout the spring months. Unfortunately, during this time, we have entertained both events with stacked books supporting our newly purchased furniture. Honestly, our family has purchased a decent amount of furniture from The Dump over the past year considering recent home purchases. The furniture is generally quite decent. However, the incredible failure by The Dump staff to respond to this very simple request -- i.e. send us a 4-inch tall missing support leg on an $1,800 couch/sofa set -- over the past several months will result in us no longer shopping at The Dump, and communicating the risks associated with purchasing from them unless this issue is resolved. We left a message this morning confirming that we are preparing to file with the Better Business Bureau in order to resolve this situation, if we do not hear back by tomorrow. Still, the problem remains that we, as the customers, are spending a ton of time and effort to fix their delinquencies. All in all, after several months, we continue to have furniture propped up on stacked books with no remedy in sight. (The aforementioned information will easily guide any The Dump employee to the right Houston account for review, if you choose to address this problem. If so, we thank you in advance.)

This is a tough one. They do have pieces at a great price. I found a sofa i loved at Gallery Furniture for 1500 and here I found the same sofa in a slightly different color on sale for 800. I found a sofa set here I fell in love with on a Sunday and tried to come Monday, but realized they were closed until Friday. I rushed in Friday, paid for it, but was bummed there was no free delivery like all the other furniture stores had offered. The delivery price was $140! So I got a Uhaul and picked up my set on a Sunday. After a 45 minute wait they realized the couch my sales rep said they had in the warehouse, did not exist. Also, the one on the floor was sold already. As you can imagine my heart broke! Ive browsed through 10 furniture stores all weekend, finally made a decision, set my heart on it and PAID over 2k for it already! But now I have a love seat with no sofa. I was so sad and also angry! Another sales rep told me "this happens all the time". That is horrible that this is a reoccurring issue and has become their norm. So BUYERS BEWARE. My sales guy did what he had to do at this point. Gave me the sofa they had sold (buyer didnt pick up I guess...idk) but then I discover damage that wasnt there before! Just one thing after another, but he rectified it pretty quickly. He refunded me 100 bucks for the scratched up feet. At load in i noticed the bottom was ripped so they took it to their tech to fix before giving it to me. Well when it got back, it came back dirty lol no kidding when it rains it pours right? I had arrived at 2 and it was 6 pm, so I didnt want to wait any more. Not to mention, I missed my drop off time for the truck at 4. So now Im waiting for them to come clean it in a week , which is inconvenient because I will have to miss work to be present between the 3-4 hr span they had given me, but said they will call in advance. Overall, I really wish i could have given them a 5 stars and really hoped my experience with them was better, but it was a nightmare! The staff was nice and apologetic though, thats why I gave them at least a 2 stars. Idk if $100 was enough for the damage and all the inconvenience this has caused me, not to mention the cost of renting a Uhaul truck, but they tried to help and at the end of the day i got the set i fell in love with. Update 9/14/16 going to change it to a 1 star. I had 24hrs to report the stains. I called them and they sent Miguel in a few days. He was not able to remove all the stains. Said he would take a photo and report that he wasnt able to remove it then keep in touch to let us know what would happened next. Never heard back from any one so I called and customer service read his report that said everything was done and taken care of. Im so upset! The woman over the phone was so rude too. I would never shop here again!

To be completely honest I will never come back. Ive been here twice. Once to look for, find, and purchase a couch and the other to pick up an area rug. The first time I was there it was decent. One of the things I do not like is being followed in a store by salesperson. I didnt feel comfortable looking at things and being followed and running into a salesperson almost every corner I turned. I understand its their job but I feel their job should include knowing how to read people and personal space. We were helped bought a couch and area rug. We would come back for the rug later and the couch would be delivered. So! 2 weeks later I was called to set up delivery and was told my rug was also going to be delivered. I was then told rugs arent delivered so Id have to pick it up at the store. I verified with the store the rug was on site and headed to the location. Once I got there I walked in and was STALKED yes STALKED by salespersons and one woman followed me every where. I figured while I was there Id look around but she made me feel so UNCOMFORTABLE I changed my mind. Once I drove around to the side of the store I was greeted by a lady with a clipboard with a "wtf do you want" face. Me and my husband pulled up and told her we came for a rug. We waited 30 minutes while several people came and left with LARGE furniture. I finally threw a fit and asked what was taking so long. She said "we dont have it youll have to come back later. If you have a problem go talk to them inside". Very rude. She didnt state her name or have a name tag so I cant tell you who she was. I went inside waited another 15 minutes and was told it wasnt here. When I told them I had called to verify it was here before I came here. I was asked who I spoke to and that theres nothing I could do. I asked them if theyd be able to deliver it they said no. I had enough and told them I was not going to come back when Id already waited 2 weeks and was told it was there. The guy I was talking to went to inventory and miraculously found it in LITERALLY less than 2 minutes. So I find it so ridiculous that I waited 45 minutes and had to raise my voice to get something done. I asked a couple of friends of mind that have been here before and I got a lot of "oh yeah they dont give a sh**" and "theyre racist if they see a white person theyre super nice but if youre not they couldnt care less". Im a person of color so seeing me and my husband be put off to the side and ignored so that someone else with fair complexion can be helped is discriminatory. Everyone I spoke to was rude and obviously only had one thing in mind, get it done. Horrible customer service, manners were nonexistent, and this place truly lives up to their name. The dump.
