I love to buy my makeup at Sephora. Its great store with a variety of brands of makeup. Yesterday I was looking for a blush powder or a contour palette.I asked a employee, her name was Sam. I described what I normally use, and I wasnt sure what to get. I told her I used a palette thats discontinued and I want something similar to that. She gave me a rude looking face and said, "Thats not a contour, that a blush powder kit." I was like oh, well I want something like that or contour. She asked me some questions about my makeup routine, and she sat me in the chair. As I was telling her the products I use, she kept rolling her eyes and nodding. I wasnt sure if it was bad I was using these products or not. These are products I use from the Sephora store, and Im comfortable using. I felt embarrassed and humiliated like I didnt know how to buy make up. Then she asked me about my facial wash routine. I told her the products I use. Then she rolled her eyes again and said a rude manner those are only good products for starting out good facial cleaning routines. After that point I felt upset. I tried to keep a positive mood. She just made things worse by recommending too many products and telling me how to do my make up. I understand if you want to teach and show people how to do make up, but you do not have to be rude about it. Sam, the employee of Sephora at Memorial City Mall, made me feel beneath her. The attitude and the customer service I received from her has encouraged me to stay away from that Sephora. I have had mostly good experiences at Sephora from other make up experts. I know that she may consider herself a make up expert, but my advice to Sam would be she needs to have a positive attitude and manner.

I went in today with my younger sister and an older lady with oily makeup, I think her name was Sandra or Diana, came up to us and I told her I wanted my sister to be color matched for foundation. She asked whether or not my sisters skin was oily or dry and she replied it was mostly oily. She commented that my makeup looked good and then she started talking about foundation primer and I stated that I had never used primer before. She replied by saying my pores would be noticeably larger by the end of the year. I thought that was interesting because I have been wearing the same Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer for years without any problem. I personally dont think she has the expertise to tell me what I need to do to keep my skin healthy. I am aware that the employees there receive training over the products sold in the store but most of them are NOT licensed estheticians. Therefore, their knowledge in skin care is limited. Besides that, I never asked her to suggest products for me. I clearly stated that I was there to help my sister pick out a foundation. For the record, I contacted a credible, licensed esthetician after the incident and she told me that pore size depends on your skin care regimen and whether or not you wear good makeup. Also, someone with large pores or oily skin should NOT wear primer. So basically, primer should never have been suggested in the first place since my sister has an oily skin type.

Some of your beauty consultants are very helpful and pleasant to converse with about makeup and skincare products. I wish I could remember the consultants name who took the time to (try) to help me locate the much coveted Rainforest by the Sea eyeshadow palette by Tarte. However, I did make an effort to remember the name of a very rude and snobby consultant, Bobby, who was short and snotty with the helpful person trying to assist me. He was also rude and short with my sister and me. I guess maybe he was having a bad eyebrow day?? Those tend to make me a tad bit cantankerous as well. I thought it was unnecessary for him to be so unprofessional with his helpful colleague in front of a customer. I work in retail and I would never allow myself to be that condescending to a customer. Hey Bobby, if youre reading this I understand "coming soon" means the product will return. He (your colleague) was simply inquiring to see if you had any additional information because he was actually trying to be helpful. You should give that a try sometimes. #hetriedit #boybye

I had an amazing experience with Carol at Sephora yesterday. Talk about an up sell. I walked in looking for Tory Burch alone, but along the way found some new fragrances I wanted to try. Carol educated me on Sephoras sampler sets. I was able to get a set of new fragrances to try and my regular bottle of Tory Burch for the same cost. Just when I thought I was done Ms Carol overheard me talking on the phone knowing I was speaking to a man. Before I knew it she uphold me on a sample set with a bottle for him too. I ant tell you how happy I was with the service I received and the deal I got for the purchases I made. I will be looking for Carol on my next trip and I suggest you do too. Top of the line service all the way! Great job Carol and awesome deal Sephora. Nothing like being happy with your selections! FYI this store is under renovation but still open for business. If coming in through Macys be sure to turn the corner for the open entrance.

Absolutely terrible service they followed me around like i was going to steal something the whole damm time ! And this man his his 50 with grey slick back hair was the worse i asked him about one the products he rolled his eyes and acted like i was waisting his time and after i said it wasnt what i espected i asked if he could show me any other items that were similar to the product with full coverage and i could not bieleve the comment he made said he said "If your looking for cheaper products target is just down the hall to your left " i was so embarrassed i kinda laughed it off many people heard his comment so i just tried to walk away i tried asking another employee a question and she talked to me as if i was beneath her she just kept staring at me up and down and giving this smirk i will never return to this sephora again i see no point in treating a customer who is spending money badly

My experience was not so good. Got there today first female I see ask her a question and she says with a facial attitude that is not my department any one you see on the other side (did not oriented me properly). I was like waooo, second and third lady really nice. The fourth one seamed older , I asked her about concealer she said I am coming. Just for me to see her on another side of the shop idle like she forgot about me. I felt despised but still bought products. The customer service have to be genuine. I am so sorry for those ladies. Unfortunately theiy represent a brand.

I go in strictly for take home samples and usually purchase online. I have learned not to ask for advice from the employees here since it has caused me to purchase many products that either break me out or just didnt work out for me. I also would suggest NOT getting your makeup done here. The light smokey eye I wanted a few years back for my birthday, looked like I had two black eyes. The make up artist applied the shadow so hard that my eyes were red and watery from the pressure..... Ive never seen that happen. All in all I love Sephora but not so much the employees.
