The most embarrassing thing near the River Oaks area is the wedding stationery department at Events Gifts. We were so excited to do our wedding invitations with the stationery department, but after thoroughly planning ahead and thus hoping to send out invitations at the beginning of January, they have failed to meet wedding timeline, professionalism and timely customer service expectations. First, at our face to face invitation design meeting, the stationery department did not suggest to us a way for guests to know the wedding website with wedding registry information. When my fiancé and I were packaging the wedding invitations + card inserts we realized that it would be helpful to send this information to our guests. My fiance and I called Events Gifts as soon as we noticed this was missing. The stationery department was unable to be reached for 3 days and after a few messages left with an employee, no return phone call was ever made. I decided to show up in person to let the stationery department know that we will need to add a wedding website card insert to our order as soon as possible. She did not seem to have any intention of returning our phone calls or addressing our concern. I was completely baffled, since she is supposed to be an experienced wedding stationery professional and should have walked us through all the appropriate information for the cards. We asked her to help us with every step of the process since, having never been married before, we had no idea what information is necessary. She had no concern that days before our printing process was to be complete, our guests would not have had any clue of how to access our wedding website or registries. Very unprofessional. Second, they said they do a 15% discount off wedding stationery services and discounted our wedding invitation purchase and then when we went to go pick up our invitations weeks later, they said that we could not get 15% off the printing for the invitations. The stationery department was VERY clear of the invitation + printing services that were going to be done at the first time of purchase, but failed to include 15% off the printing portion without giving us a hard time. One employee left us with an unsettling attitude, because he did not understand initially that our entire invitation service was supposed to be for ONE wedding stationery service. Why in the world would we not pay for everything upfront to get the 15% for the stationery services if we knew that we would be making another payment when picking up the invitations themselves? They shouldve disclosed that we would be needing to pay for printing the wedding invitation envelopes when we picked them up, so that we would pay for it all during the first day of purchase. Lastly, when we received the printed envelopes, we noticed 24 (out of ~130 printed envelopes!) of the invitations had cut off guest names in the address lines. We were so disappointed to find almost 20% of our wedding envelopes had been messed up. We went back to Events Gifts to find a resolution in a timely manner, but the stationery department was out of town and out of reach. When we finally got in touch with them, they asked us to bring in the extra envelopes we had ordered and paid for (to be used for additional invitations that weren’t to be printed) so that they could use those. We bought those extras to use ourselves, not as a contingency for Events to use in case they messed up! Such distasteful and unprofessional experiences with Events Gifts stationery department. I would NOT recommend using them if youre looking for effective, efficient, or up-to-date wedding services. Less than 3 months until our destination wedding day, and this has been the only stressful and disappointing experience thus far. On top of it all, we had set up a wedding registry at Events Gifts, but will be deleting it. STAY AWAY.

Events is the kind of store where every time you walk in theres something new and exciting to see. My favorite occasions to come here are Halloween, Easter and Christmas. Its well-known by its beautiful handmade baskets for Easter, the wonderful decoratives for Halloween and its a mandatory visit for all Christmas lovers. During Christmas the table settings are amazing, plus their selection of Christmas ornaments, Santas and Fairies will blow your mind!!

My sister registered here for her wedding, and I would suggest to everyone....DO NOT DO THIS. The service in wedding registry was awful. The woman helping us was not helpful at all and was a total "witch". She talked to us as if we were children. If you are expecting great service - go somewhere else.
