Every visit to the store is always an adventurous one for me.But yesterday was extra special.I travel from San Antonio,Texas.I shop and eat at my favorite restaurant in the store.Asian Gourmet, but on Saturday July 9 2016 I had the most wonderful visit to add to my many others and those to come Im sure.Starting with the greeter Ms.Ce Ci, she always has the most wonderful smile on her face and goes out of her way with every guest.I can always count on her to ask how Im doing and to be so informative with any question I might have. Especially recognizing some of the exotic fruits that are displayed by the entrance at times.Shes an encyclopedia of knowledge and wisdom. I just love her enthusiasm about life!!!! Now my meal on this day as usual Mr.Jimmy, Alex always know what I need and again the smiles that keep on giving. No matter how busy they too greet with the smile and have always given me the most sincere care of my favorite food orders!! I find their extreme professionalism day and day out amazing. The food selection and flavors are amazing I love the many choices always. On this day I can proudly add two new names and faces to my most impressed list. That I feel help make the store at 99 Ranch a success.I met Mr.Mike a manager who happens to be new to the store and Mr.Miguel in the produce department.Mike I met while sharing how amazing the store is to me.I wanted to commend my food court friends that take care of my many needs when it comes to preparing my dine in or take home foods.Mike was very attentive and listened to my every word.I also commented how I loved the many assortments of exotic fruits...one of which Ive been very curious about Jackfruit!! No sooner did I finish my sentence and I was being escorted by Mike over to meet Miguel in the produce dept so I could taste the enfomous Jackfruit. How amazing is that!! I completed my visit on this day with some specialty item shopping the choices the store has to offer are plentiful. Of course no visit is complete without my bakery stop which always has the freshest and many selections my favorite coconut and raisin bread, chocolate covered bread with nuts on a stick and of course the selection of dinner rolls...."All so yummy". THIS is an amazing place and a staff of individuals that work hard effortlessly to make our experiences GREAT. I cant wait to visit again!! I am a very loyal repeat guest and while some might feel this is more of a story than a review.I felt that with everything we have going on in our everyday sometimes very stressful lives Its important to remember the simple things in life. There are lots of people who work hard and care in the most simplest way by Smiling no matter what!! Signing out, your loyal shopper Char Castro!!

The pros: fruit / veggie selection is pretty expansive, there is a good selection of prepared foods and i like that there are different places to eat in the mini-mall. The cons: prices are generally higher than Welcome in Chinatown, crazy parking situation on the weekends and from some of their employees: the poor service! I am Chinese, so Im pretty used to poor service from Asian establishments... I dont have high expectations when I go to these type of places. However, Ranch 99 managed to go even below these minimal expectations. This past Saturday, I bought 3 pastries from the bakery in the store. since one of the items was a phyllo-topped bun, I didnt want it to get smooshed with my other groceries and I asked for my pastries to be put in a box. Lady behind the counter (Linda) said that I couldnt get a box for just 3 items... i would have to get 4 items to get a box. Normally, that would be fine (I understand that boxes cost extra money) ... HOWEVER, there was a huge sign behind the counter that said the bakery would bag up items any way a customer requested. I pointed the sign out to Linda and she then proceeded to throw my bakery items in a box, throw it on the counter, and shove it down the counter and not speak to me at all during the rest of the transaction! No "thanks", no nothing. When I was done paying, instead of putting the receipt in my hand, she just threw it on the counter and walked off. How rude! If you dont want to honor what is written on the sign, then dont put the sign up in the first place! Jeez. I will never shop at Ranch 99 again due to her attitude. I encourage others to stay away as well unless you want to be treated like this. I will go elsewhere now where people actually appreciate my business.....

99 Ranch Market has become one of my favorite Asian markets to shop at in Houston. I really love how its clean and organized, the wide selection of goods, and the bakery! 99 Ranch, like many other Asian markets, have reasonable prices for produce, shelf goods, meats and seafood. I usually visit 99 Ranch to pick up some Asian produce, noodles, rice, frozen foods, and bakery goods. I adore 99 Ranchs bakery. I always buy their Japanese flower bread and their assorted pound cakes. Always fresh, and always delicious. Ive never been disappointed. If Im really having a sweet tooth Ill get a slice of Black Forest cake. 99 Ranchs baked goods usually range from $1-$4, so they are very affordable. 99 Ranch has a great cafeteria serving quick dim sum, prepared dishes, and duck and pork. There are also three great restaurants located inside 99 Ranch, such as LA Crawfish, a Vietnamese restaurant, and a Korean restaurant. In addition to the restaurants, there is a Korean and Japanese make up counter, and other small stores. 99 Ranch is kind of like a supermarket-slash-mini mall. I love it here!

I am a nice Jewish boy-I am white!!! I am from L.A. CA and we have 99 Ranch markets all over. The prices at this location are high considering all the goods are imported from the So Cal area and the fact that they are right off the 10 doesnt help in the rent arena to keep prices down. No pea sprouts-no ginger- garlic sprouts or fresh bamboo shoots-no sweet soy sauce. I couldnt try the deli and get some Siu Mai for the road because the line was three people deep and it seemed like it was too many people for the deli to handle. I can go for Dim Sum at a restaurant and beat the b.s. I like it here--too far away to make it a regular stop. I can get what I need at Hong Kong Market-though not as nice--but the prices are a little better. If you are close-go. Maybe produce is better in the spring.

Definitely a clean market with a lot of varities which made it easier for me to shop without having to drive to another market. However, the bbq food court is no longer a place to get some foods while shop there. Theyve become so shady recently. How is it that they charged me 7.13 for rice with veggie and duck in a small to go box? They just squeeze everything in there like a doggy bag. Its not like Im not paying or not willing to spend on my food. When I asked the Spanish lady, she was like since you only get one type of meat, I can only put in the small box and I was like I still paid full price its not like I paid it any less. So yeah I wont be coming back again with the way they treating certain customers thinking theyre stupid or something.
