THE $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE OFFERED that was part of myself decision to Drive 30 miles out of my way to purchase a firearm at their Advertised DISCOUNT and SALE PRICES were NOT HONORED! Night sights NOT on firearm, BUT TRIED DECEIVING ME STATING THAT THE SIGHTS ON THE WEAPON WERE NIGHT SIGHTS; LIARS. GANDER Mgmt took FULL ADVANTAGE OF ME during a stressful time following a PHYSICAL ASSAULT 3 DAYS AFTER THANKSGIVING PURPOSELY DENYING ME ALL ADVERTISED DISCOUNTS and LYING about their statements regarding ADVERTISED Holiday SALE PRICES with ither offers and price match used to entice me into commuting to their store. THESE FRAUDULENT PROMISES AND STATEMENTS WERE QUOTED TO CABELAS ARMS SALESMAN JEFF AND AGAIN TO ME DURING TWO CALLS MADE TO CONFIRM THEIR SALES PRICE, MATCH, PLUS 10% OF SALE DISCOUNT AND A $25 GIFT CARD OFFER (FIREARM INCLUDED NIGHT SIGHTS) TO BEAT CABELAS SALES PRICE AND GAIN MY BUSINESS CHARGING ME MUCH MORE FOR A WEAPON THAT DID NOT HAVE THE NIGHT SIGHTS ON IT ALTHOUGH MANAGEMENT AND SALESMEN (DURING MY DISTRESS HAVING JUST BEEN PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED) TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME; A SINGLE MOTHER OF FOUR (4) CHILDREN AND SIX (6) GRANDCHILDREN RAISED SOLELY BY ME! Warning....do not purchase anything from this or any other Gander Mountain store. My wife purchased me a rifle from Gander Mountain. She called one of my friends from the store to confirm the rifle, while my two sons (22 &17 years old) accompanied her to the store. All three supporting cast members heard my wife ask for the rifle a Remington 700 .308 caliber BDL. When the salesman gave her the rifle, she asked again this is a BDL correct? He assured her it was. GANDER MOUNTAIN sold her a Remington 700 .308 caliber SPS. Now Gander Mountain is telling me their policy is no returns on guns. I called the store and spoke to a manager, who advised someone would call me back within five (5) days. After not receiving a call after six (6) days, I responded to the store to speak with a manager in person. The manager asked to see my receipt, to make a copy. He left to make "a copy" and returned about fifteen minutes later, and advised us he called and spoke to the salesman who said he "doesnt recall a conversation about a BDL." Thats obvious because he did not know what a BDL was, when he sold my wife the wrong rifle. The manager stated he would not return the rifle. I asked for his supervisors name, to which he said, that would do me no good, and provided me with a 1-800 number. I called and complained to the complaint center who advised me, someone would call me back within 48 hours. Guess what......I have never received a call! Thats OK, because I will never return to a Gander Mountain, besides to price match the overpriced SPS. But, I will advertise for them, with the best advertisement I know, word of mouth..... from an actual customer. Bad advertisement works just like good advertisement.

Nice store, pricing is hit and miss. The store itself is quite nice. Its new and when you walk in the door, you can see across the entire store. Finding the section you seek is easy; areas are well marked. Floor space is not as congested as the competitors. Pricing is interesting. Some items like clothing, safe supplies, fishing are comparable. Firearm prices are way out of wack. They have a very nice display and most brands are well represented but, anyone that knows prices knows how far off they are. As an example, some items that are $119 all day long online or in other stores, are as high as $209 here. Higher end items are similarly overpriced. However, some of the other competitors are similarly overpriced, compared to online or select other retailers. Like for like, they are similarly priced. There are some local retailers that dont offer the same selection but are much more aggressively priced. If you dont know this store is here, youll never find it. Its on the North West corner of Eldorado Parkway and Dallas North Tollway. Due to the bridge at the intersection, if youre on the highway, your chance of seeing the sign, which is not very high, is slim. You also wont see it from Eldorado Parkway because its off the street, then, its farther back than Market Street Grocery. Your only chance of seeing the store is coming off the Eldorado Parkway exit on the southbound North Dallas Tollway. Personally, I think its an odd location and their sign is not nearly large or tall enough. If youre around, this is definitely worth the visit. Its a really nice store and if you know the going prices of the items you seek, youll enjoy the experience.

Please do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place when purchasing a firearm. We have purchased literally hundreds of firearms and most always have a smooth transaction. Even when you call the store and select 1 for the firearms department you are hung up on. After purchasing the weapon you are instructed to get in front of the computer and get started on the background check information. Computer was down and we waited 20 min with no resolve so then we were told they would have to call it in. Another 45 min goes by and we are told that the purchase was on hold and we would get a phone call. I know when the status is hold you are given a date as to when your hold is up. We were provided no info just to call back later. Here we are 3 days later I call the store and literally sit on hold for 28 min. Finally hung up and called back and I asked to speak with a manager. She was very unprofessional and had no answers or apologies. Save the hassle and frustration and make the drive a little farther to Cabellas. Also they offer a price match guarantee when I brought that up to the salesman he was discouraged because it cost him commission. Those were his words. What a joke.

Bought a Remington 1911 r1 enhanced from them during opening week with the extended warranty. The 1911 is jamming FMJ ammo between the feed ramp and the chamber, took it back to have them look at it and all they say is to use better ammo. Informed them I was using good ammo and that they needed to get it corrected. If this is going to jam on FMJ than I will never be able to use HPs in this gun. The staff said they would send it to their gun smith to look at.. has been a month and no word, so I called and all the staff said was "you need better ammo per the sticker".. I do not believe that they sent it off to be looked at by a professional gun smith and have not gone any further then to blame the ammo which was a major brand factory load FMJ. I should have gone to Bass Pro or Academy and should not have wasted $70 on the warranty. I now have to go get the gun and take it to a professional gun smith myself to get the gun where I can use it.
