Went to this store to ask about some smaller rifles, and when I walked in the salesman completely ignored me. I asked if they had what I was looking for and got nothing but a finger pointing to an opposite counter. When I asked if the rifle I liked was new or used his reply was "does is say used on the tag?" and walked away from me. He wasnt busy since I was the only person in the shop, and because of such terrible customer service, Im taking my business elsewhere. Bad attitude and bad customer service is such a let down. Not to mention this is the second time Ive been treated this way! What a let down.

I have now purchased 3 handguns and a lot of ammunition from The Outdoorsman here in Fargo. They are a great group and I really enjoy going into the store. I have not encountered the situation below and have been in during the evening. I really like the attitude displayed by this retailer--they treat customers like they actually matter, which is rare in this age of the big box retailer where people go to work just to put in the hours. I will return to this retailer and the only time I shop elsewhere is if the Outdoorsman does not have what I want in stock or they are closed.

Ask for Mike. He will work with you to get THE gun/weapon you want. He will explain your alternatives and help you with the decision making. They have fair prices. New guns really have minimal markup so expect all gun shops to be about the same. On used guns, this is where gun shops make the money to pay their staff, rent, insurance, and keep the lights on. Thanks to the Outdoorsman staff and especially Mike. I have purchased 4 guns and tons of ammo from them also. I also have purchased guns from Scheels. Great shop, great staff. IMHO-----Kutter

Definitely going back to The Outdoorsman for future purchases. The owner was one of the kindest and friendliest people Ive ever met - and Im from the Midwest, so thats saying a lot. They didnt have the handgun I wanted, but ordered it for me for only $20 more than the cheapest price I could find online. Id have paid $20 to an FFL holder to buy it online anyways, so the friendly and local service was all a great bonus. At Scheels I feel like theyre all just trying to sell me something. Ill be going back to the Outdoorsman instead.

Ive been a customer on-and-off over about a decade. Have bought sporting goods items at other "big-box" retailers, but keep coming back to the Outdoorsman for purchases related to firearms and archery. The sales associates have significant experience, and will make excellent suggestions based on user critieria...... I depart this store with confidence in my purchase, and note the products have served me well in the field over serveral years.

Stopped in to look at pistols, and they have the best prices in town. They are just a little bit more expensive than some of the online discount stores, but the price is essentially the same once you factor in the FFL transfer fee. The staff was also very helpful, and the store has a cozy, woodland feel to it. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent service. The gunsmith (didnt get his name) was awesome. Being a novice in the gun world (only own one gun) I was kind of apprehensive, but I was pleasantly surprised. The gunsmith was quick to help (didnt make me feel stupid), fixed my broken bolt assembly in a matter of minutes and made me a future customer.

My husband has bought many guns and accessories from Outdoorsman. There prices are excellent. He could spend hours looking at guns and visiting with the staff. They are very helpful and enjoyable people that know there stuff.

You can get some rather cheap ammo there, but the prices on some of their used guns are just ridiculous. The old junker mil-surp stuff seems to be %150 the going rate.
