Great store nice people , but heres what happened . I had been walking around the store for a good 15 minutes (they were super busy) I finally decided to ask for help. Im not sure if this is how its supposed to at this store but the guy that helped me wanted me to show him my I.D first before helping me find what I was looking for. Im 25 years old and I do understand that I have a baby face, but I felt slightly bothered by that because there were two kids and a teenager walking around the store unquestioned and other people who asked for help were not asked for an I.D . I know I Have to show I.D if I make a purchase , which I did as I was paying for my items . It just made me feel slightly uncomfortable to be asked for an I.D while I was simply inquiring about an item . I felt a bit unwelcomed . The good thing is the guy at the register was super nice ,friendly and Sweet. If the store policy is to ask for I.D before entering or while browsing the store then that should be applied to everybody. :/

My favorite white could not be found at any local store and a quick search of the internet showed it at Total Wine for the most reasonable price. I had never been, so I was quite impressed with the huge variety of wines they carried. I usually refuse help when looking at wines because its fun to discover new things. But I came for my Washington State Riesling so yes, please. I was glad I did since it was stuck in with the German wines (hey, its a Riesling, wouldnt you look here first?) I then asked about an Italian red and was turned over to a wonderful young lady who had traveled all over Italy. I wanted to listen to her read off wine labels for hours, but I had to go. Theyre opening a location close to me soon. Ill be sure to visit.

Wow! This is a great place to hang out in H Town. Wines, spirits, and beer, the store has a collection of over 8000 bottles! Every Thursday - Saturday they offer tasting for several kinds; today they have a rose wine, Chardonnay, a sweet red, and also bourbon. Lots of staff in the store to help you out, and they are so nice to talk to! As inexperienced as me, its impossible to pick something I have in mind. But every drink does have a label of description, points, alcohol level etc. The store has strict policy to check the age, they dont take temporary IDs as an answer; I found it out the hard way :( . The location is near the Baybrook Mall, and Total wine always has huge foot traffic.

They have the best variety and selection I have ever seen. The prices are low compared to other places and the staff are very knowledgeable about where everything is. Plus every one is so friendly that it is worth the drive. Plus they have samples so you don’t waste your money on something you might not like. I highly recommend everyone to go and check it out. I am not a big drinker by any means but yhe prices will amaze you. Please take the timr just to go look. You will be amazed when you walk in. They sell liquor, beers, a huge variety of wines. It just an interesting place to look around.

Amazing place. IMHO they have far more variety. The staff has so far been very courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. As others have said - amazing selection of each type of spirit - liquor, wine, hard liquor. Beer selection is also a good variety and selection but they clearly dont have as much variety with beers as the truly amazing assortment of wines and liquors. If youre ever in the area, and love a good wine, you have to stop here. (We always do...and we live 60 miles away from this store.)

As much as I love Specs, Total Wine is giving them a run for their money. Total Wine, as the name states, has a huge selection of wine varietals. Their liquor selection isnt as vast as Specs, but they still stock some great brands for a good price. And everyone that worked their seemed friendly and helped with all my needs. I did get carded twice, but I was a responsible adult who brought their ID to the store with them and didnt get upset when a store follows TABC protocol when selling alcohol.

Good selection, but terrible service. Most of the employees wont even stop to ask if you need any assistance. They take the whole I.D thing very seriously which is understandable, but it seems unnecessary for employees to go around the store asking people to show them their I.Ds while shopping. Why not just ask at the register? It takes way too long to get in and out of the store. Just stick with Specs.

I was told I would not be allowed to purchase alcohol because my boyfriend left his wallet at home and could not provide an ID. Were both 30 years old and I was making the purchase. "No one under 21 is allowed in the store" the manager exclaims as two children under 7 are running around. I guess theres a reason why Specs is more popular in this area. Also, their selection of Texan wines was lacking.

A very good selection of wine with good prices. Nothing is overpriced. If you know what you want you will be good here. That being said, this place seems to cater to the senior citizen contingent. Their workers wont talk to you if you look like you are under 50. They will just pass you by. They need to be a way less crazy about the IDing. I was asked for my ID twice while in the store.

There is a great selection of all your different types of drinks, not just wine. The service was superb and the prices are on par, or cheaper, to that of the local Specs. If you need help deciding on a wine to try, Pete is the guy you need to talk to. Besides the vast selection, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I could have browsed for at least a couple hours.

Very Horrible Service!!! I walked in to the store and was immediately asked for my I.D And I tell him I left it at home and I understand the policy but he said Turn Back Around Your Not Allowed Here meanwhile teenagers passed me by and they didnt I.D them when they walked in ... Sticking to my HEB and Specs

Incredible selection and lots of friendly, knowledgeable staff walking around. The prices are about the same or even better that Specs. The place is clean, laid out nicely and usually offers free wine samples. Also has a walk in humidor with a fair selection of cigars.

Clean and well organized with a mind-blowing selection of wines, beers, ciders, and spirits at all price ranges. If you love to gaze longingly at a thousand dollar bottle of wine before you settle on a perfectly nice $8 malbec then this is the place for you.
