Today, I decided to treat my young daughters to lunch at PCH as a very special treat. We sat in the back, at the long table just in front of the bus station. Our waitress was great, very sweet. There was an issue around lunch today, another mother came in to the restaurant with her four children to eat lunch. Maybe a very special treat to them, too. One of the boys began crying (rather loudly) and it seemed at first he was acting out. However, as the crying continued, many customers and employees began staring at the table. It was obvious to me that the child had a medical condition, one that to the naked eye or normal person would not seem apparent….but to me and to my daughter’s home health nurse (also eating with us), it was plain clear. A few years ago, my daughter was non-verbal. It took nearly 4 years to teach her to talk. Before then, she only knew to communicate through frustration and tears. I saw this today in that little boy. I saw several patrons walk over to the boy and try to appease him….and it took a bit, but he calmed down. What was upsetting was that over half of the staff in the back were cursing and saying the most horrible things, loud enough for that momma to hear, and all of my kids heard. We heard one waitress say, “Tear his ass up”….and worst, “GD.” I try to raise my children right and respectfully….and taking the Lord’s name in vain is simply a blow to the core of my soul. And to hear a waitress say it out loud, loud enough that many customers heard, is unacceptable. This waitress continued for the duration of our visit…cursing and saying such mean things about that family. Others joined in, including a second one that made a big deal about giving a new customer a different table because “they should not have to sit around that.” I even heard waitresses engaging with other customers in a negative manner towards that family…..I could not even finish my meal. My girls were so upset. I felt it was something I had to do when I asked for that family’s ticket. I noticed earlier that only 3 plates were brought to that table of five. When I received their ticket, my waitress told me that the mom at that table had to flag a waitress twice because their waitress refused to take their entire order. They ordered three plates and the waitress walked away. When the mom said she was not done ordering, the waitress informed her that she was done. At the window in the back, another waitress pushed the issue that the table was not done ordering, and their waitress said, “Well they will just have to wait.” This is wholly unacceptable, inhumane and disappointing. Then, after the manager apologized to me and my family, the waitress who was "GD" this and that actually confronted me at our table, demanding that she did not say those things and demanded to know why I told on her. No cool. My children got a front row seat today to straight up meanness. I was asked by the manager to complain to the owner, but when I got to the front, I was told by the cashier that the owner was dealing with a family issue. I paid for that family’s dinner, and I would not hesitate to do it again….but I will never eat at that restaurant again.

This is truly an old time coffee shop. You can sit at the counter or at a table. Sometimes you may have to wait for a table, but well worth the wait. Good breakfasts made to order, and biscuits made fresh daily, that go great as a meal by themselves with sausage gravy. Good choices for lunch specials, and save room for a slice of homemade pie for dessert. Some of the best pies in Ft. Worth are made here, and you can order whole pies for take home. This is a very popular spot, and there is no telling who you may see there. From plain ol Texans to State Senators, to local folks that are movers and shakers to Famous folks from all over, and maybe a couple of movie stars or singers thrown in for good measure. This is the place to come. Mike Smith is the owner and is Ft Worth raised. Went to AHHS with Betty Buckley and John Denver, and is a TCU grad. Lots of memorabilia and history here for all to enjoy. The wait staff is very attentive, and I have yet to ever run out of coffee or tea while dining.

The waitress was extremely rude! According to the ticket her name was D. And when asked where the ownermanager was so we could speak to him about the service and poor quality and mis-identified menu items they said he was somewhere in the back and they made not even the slightest effort to get him. Sure there will be those"the regulars"that will say this review is completely wrong but it isnt! I have seen this many times. It isnt directly the fault of the owner when a server doesnt have proper manners and picks and chooses who she or he wants to treat properly. However he is totally reponsable and liable for a bad product being served and for the neglect given to not just this disabled American Veteran but to all disabled people the enter into the doors of The Paris Coffee Shop!!!!!

I proactively seek out new places to try and now I understand why I stayed away from this place sooo long. Yes the hours are unusual for a typical restaurant and yet the service here makes you feel isolated. I strongly believe in the "usuals" but when the staff treats you differently because they dont know you then it automatically makes the food taste bland. who knows maybe the food tastes like that already and the people that go there tend to go there because it is a habit to go there. The only thing that I enjoyed was the cobbler and even then I wasnt excited to pay for the over priced bland food. So if you are feeling optimistic then try the place but if you are looking for a place that will provide you with a great satisfaction then keep on driving.

Ive eaten at many cafes across the US, and the Paris Coffe Shop doesnt stand out as anything special. The food is average, at best. Its always cold, so come with a jacket. The waitresses always seem worn out, but are efficient. They do have car seat stands, which is nice. Theres no kids menu, but they try to accommodate. Prices arent low, but theyre not overpriced. The only reason its a Ft. Worth institution is because its been in the same location for over 40 years, and many people who eat there dont really know what excellent food is. The food is consistent, although not anything to drive out of your way for. The pies are ok, but not high quality.

First-timers should know that this place is not French, and is not trying to be French - think Paris, TX. Its a diner, complete with white tile floor, dingy ceiling , TCU signs, and meringue pies on display behind the cash register. Their breakfast is basically the IHOP menu but without the silly novelty pancake abominations. The eggs are real and the bacon is crispy. The waitresses call you "honey" and dont let your coffee cup run dry. The place gets full almost every morning with elderly locals. If you dont feel like a coffee house pastry for breakfast, this place is worth finding a parking spot.
