Academy sucks. I use to buy my 3 girls athletic gear there but not anymore. In just one single visit, I usually spend around 300.00 dollars and thats just for my three girls, Im not even including my husband or myself. I went to the academy on Americas, first I asked an employee for a certain size of shoes for my daughter and she threw the box towards my daughters feet on the floor. I called her on it, ok, got over that. Then I ordered two pairs of shoes (one for me and one for my other daughter) from a different employee, he was helpful. I received both pairs with in a week but my pair was not the color I asked for. So I took that pair back to the store so they can order it again and the cashier says she cant order it because the ordering system was down. Another employee said that she didnt hear about it and then the first employee made a face with wide eyes towards her and said, they are down. So I just told her, that if she didnt want to do her job, to just forget it and to give me my money back. Never again am I going there. Im either going to Rack Room or Big 5 from now on.

horrible experience yesterday December 27 at 12 pm, the cashier was so rude, we took a mens jacket, I asked to the cashier how much will be the price after the discount, she gave it to another young lady, they go to a computer at the wall looking for the price, like 20 minutes or more, looking and they never find the jacket, they dont know how to look in the inventory, they was just like playing video games at the computer, and they never said something like Im sorry, the line was so long like 20 people waiting and they dont care about the people, they dont have any amount of care, quality or service, they dont care for the customer, finally I quit to the jacket I said I dont wanted anymore, and they went so happy, like oh yeah thanks I dont care! I told to the cashier really bad service and she was like whatever! believe me go another store, you dont deserve a really bad experience, the workers does not have the training

Worst customer service. And make sure you SAVE any receipts. I bought some shoes yesterday with cash for $119+ but they made my feet hurt. (I have wide feet) Unfortunately i lost me receipt and they said they couldnt give me cash back because I didnt have it, they could only give me store credit so whatever, I took it. When they told me what they were gonna give me, it was just $113+. So not only wasnt I able to get my money back but I got less money back than what I had paid because "they cant confirm my total since I dont have my receipt". It got one star for their merchandise. Its employees that make me want to rate the store 0 stars.

Very disorderly appearance, yes, it was a Saturday but I did not witness associates trying to tidy up, either. Walked the store about 40 minutes, passed up several associates, maybe even rubbed elbows and at no point in time was I offered any assistance. Made a stop at the gun counter, the 2 men that were there did not offer any assistance and neither of them had customers. If you go to this Academy, as long as you dont have questions, or need help locating product, or you dont mind a messy appearance, youll be just fine.

Shittiest customer service EVER!!! From the get-go, Martha (footwear) and one of the team leads from the that dept. were very rude and unprofessional. When told about a damaged shoe they just put it right back on the sales floor. I requested the same shoe same size, and they just blew me off. To top it off they tried to give me the SAME shoe I had let them know was DAMAGED. I would give 0 stars if there was such a thing. Worst experience ever.

The store is trashed, literally trashed. There was even a diry diaper on the bench in the shoe department! Staff(guns) was disinterested and more engaged in their own conversation them sell firearms. In the grill section I waited for phantom employee that never showed up. So the valley location lost my business BIG TIME! If I could give zero star, I would. It was that nasty!

Great products but it was hard to find someone to help us or an employee that knows their own store. It was a little frustrating but the negative experience was trumped by the awesome cashier experience. Overall I really like Academy but they could definitely train their staff a lot better.

this store is one of the worst in the US. they dont even know whats in their inventory. they claim to have the best prices in texas but in fact they are the most expensive. I have been there twice and have had two horrible experiences... I do not recommend this to anybody

I buy all my ammo from academy, the prices are very reasonable, but thats not why I keep coming back. The reason I shop here is the staff at this location. They always seem to go beyond my expectations when I ask for and sometimes when I dont. Keep up the good work guys!

Nice selection of shoes but hard to find someone to help u find what u need. Most customers were having to reach for shoe boxes with their size n it seemed a little messy with shoe boxes n paper all over. Nice football cleats though. Check out was pretty quick.

Stephanie was amazing. She helped me several times through out the store. Seems like whenever I need assistance she was there to the rescue. There should be more employees like Ms Stephanie. She is a dedicated and loyal employee. An asset to your organization!!!

The store manager Yazmine Wheelington is VERY RUDE. She steals money from El Paso locals and shes a known scam artist. I cant believe this company trusted her with such authority. She also smokes weed. This says a lot about Academy Sports as a whole

The customer service is excellent; in contrast, the merchandise aisles are narrow. The aisles width is perfect for one shopping cart, but not wide enough for one shopping cart and another cart or wheel chair to pass side-by-side without touching.

This is the worse Academy store Ive ever been to. The manager is watching us waiting in a long line and never calls for another cashier. He had one cashier at peak hours for the whole store. Never going back.

I really have nothing to complain about. I usually shop here for outdoor activities. Hunting, fishing, ect. I also buy my workout clothes and steel toe boots here. Good selection. Great store.

Terrible experience on the guns department. The old guy at the counter was too concerned with flirting with his coworker that he didnt even help us and we were prepared to buy a gun.
