I live in Vail, and had been dealing with a few shops before deciding that Christy Sports was the superior shop. Disclaimer...I dont know any of the employees on a personal level. First of all, the quality of their gear is top notch. I bought a pair of skis from the ski shop upstairs, and they are the best skis I have ever owned. Christy Spors was the ONLY shop in all of Colorado that had a pair of these skis left. Same quality experience for a jacket I bought from Christy Sports. Just high quality stuff. They really dont carry any sub-par brands. Second, great customer service and clearly the store is run by an experienced manager. Everybody is happy to be at work...even on a powder day! Third, location is perfect...right next to the new Gondola #1. At different times this season, I brought a number of friends into the rental shop because I was happy with my purchase and I liked the customer service...so I figured I would give their rentals a shot too. The guys in the rental dept, namely Thomas and Matt, were so nice to me and my friends, despite the fact that it was often ten minutes until closing time. Always good to see employees happy, even after working 12 hours. They went out of their way to make sure they were set up properly with the right skis, boots, poles, and helmets. They keep a nice selection of demo skis in there too, but I would recommend that you reserve these in advance if you are able to. I was also impressed with the quality of the tuning on the skis they rent out. I also recently damaged one of my skis, and took it into the rental/tuning shop, and the guys down there fixed me up very quickly and easily and got me back on the slopes in no time. They just dropped everything else they were doing to assist me for the few minutes it took to replace my binding. I love it when a company stands behind its products, and that was a great example of it. Because Christy Sports has numerous locations, you can get the benefit of a "local" shop customer experience, but with the product quality and availability of a much larger shop. Just say no to Vail Sports, and go give Christy Sports a try!

GREAT EXPERIENCE!! I would give ten stars if I could!!!!!! I highly and enthusiastically recommend this shop! I was looking for some post season demos to expand my quiver. I have been skiing my entire life but admit I may be a little behind on the most recent technology. I did some web reasearch and talked to some friends. I was driving west on 70 and figured I would check Vail. I was happy to find a Christys Sports because I have ALWAYS had a great experience at 6 separate Christys locations. They are always helpful and friendly. When I called this one I could here a vacuum in the background and even though the staff was immersed in spring cleaning the staff took the time to answer all my questions. They also invited me to stop by even though they were very busy and I was likely to be the only person they would see that day. MOST IMPRESSIVE was Randy. Vail Village was empty so there was no one to ask for directions. I called back and Randy took the time to guide me in. THEN after I arrived he spent a great deal of time with me going through what he had and giving me excellent and sound advice. He was patient and fielded ALL my questions. He wanted to sell the proper fit and quality and was very professional. I walked out a very happy customer with a set of Skiis over my shoulder. It was slightly more than I planned on spending but I still felt great about the purchase. Two days later I began a three day ski break in Mammoth. After the first day I felt I had gotten EVERY PENNIES WORTH out of my purchase. By the end of the trip I can say that Randys eye for matching skiis to skier is perfect!!! OUSTANDING SERVICE and VALUE!!!! Do business with them! I will be back!!!!

My friend and I rented from the Vail location when Ive rented from the Park Meadows, Front Range location before. This time we went for the convenience of picking them up when we got there. Overall the experience was good, but the staff seemed a little too laid back in the busy chaos of the day. When we arrived, there were 4 different counters to go to...one for your boots, one for your skis, one for your helmets, and one to check out. Whew! We were a little overwhelmed and this would have been fine had someone been available to direct us. When we got our boots we were advised to get kids boots because our feet were so small (okay, flattering, but weird). Day two my friend had to exchange her boots because her right foot was going numb in the kid boot! It took about 30 min to pick up our stuff and get checked out. The equipment was great and the return was easy, but next time I might save the hassle and pick up in Denver.

I was in Vail this past weekend and needed to purchase the complete package of ski gear. Before I arrived, I called Christy Sports in Vail and they informed me that they didnt have the ski boots in the particular size that I wanted in stock...however, they so kindly transferred the boots from the Beaver Creek store so that they were at the store when I arrived! Awesome!! I was also demo-ing skis for 4 days and the guy that helped me figure out which ski to buy (I settled for the Volkl Kenja), Mike I believe is his name, was amazing and so helpful!! I asked a million questions and tried 4 different skis. Thanks to his suggestion and eventual insistence, at the last minute I tried the Volkl Kenja 7cm longer than I had originally, and it was magic...he was right on! Highly recommend Christy Sports no matter what ski level, or demo-ing/ buying preference. They are spot on!!

AMAZING SERVICE!! I have used Christy Sports on several occasions now, very happy with the excellent service. Last week we were all tested to the limit! I had pre-ordered ski rental & paid a deposit at a discount through Skiset, a European company. However, Christy Sports had no knowledge of the order when I came to pick up the skis and the receipt Skiset had given me wasnt in the usual voucher form. No matter, Jay Restrepo sorted out our equipment and we were soon off on the slopes, the invoice to be sorted once one of us could get in contact with Skiset. Despite the confusion not being Christys fault, Jay apologised for the confusion and delay and not only honoured the discounted price but reduced it a little further due to the delay and inconvenience that Skiset had caused. Next time I will book directly with Jay and Christy Sports!

Wow, those guys at Christy Sports Ski and Snowboards are awesome, helpful and we highly recommend them. This past weekend, my cousins and I took a last minute trip to Vail to snowboard and we needed to rent our equipment. We werent sure what to expect. What we received was an amazing time as a result of Joe, Jay, and a few other guys setting us up with the right gear at the right price; board, boots, bindings, helmet, lockers, etc. Since it was a last minute trip, we didnt have a reservation (although you should make one to guarantee your stuff). However, Joe personally set me up and tuned-up my equipment at the end of day one. We are thankful, grateful & appreciative to Joe, Jay and the Snowboard & Ski crew @ Christy Sports. Have a TERRIFIC day and beyond, just like me!
