I took my Lexus in for an oil change and a new battery installation. First of all, I have patronized Pep Boys frequently in the past. I have always had a decent experience with them, but this location on Forest Lane was an exception. The manager comes to me after about an hour and 45 minute wait (Id long been wondering what the holdup was) and gives me this bogus story in "auto speak" about how a fuse was blown on my car during installation of the battery, reverse polarization, blah, blah, blah. He tried to make it sound like it was my car that was the problem. About 2 and half hours in they pull the car around, I pay $200, go to my car, and... the radio wont turn on, it is totally unresponsive. When I go back inside, after more conversation with the manager, I discover what he was trying to hide. The braindead technician had put the battery in backwards, blowing a fuse and frying the amp!!! I am then sent to the dealership (which is probably where I shouldve gone in the first place). They are going to pay for the repair, but its the point that they attempted to cover up their mistake and tried to make it seem like it was my car that was malfunctioning. Watch these guys. Seems to me if you cant install a car battery properly, you probably shouldnt be working on the publics vehicles. You get what you pay for! Im just saying.

called about alignment and was told to bring in right away. So rushed over there sat 11:30 am and dropped off car. After listening to the manager Mr. Moore tell a customer over the phone , to relax and it would be-eye-ight,and after hanging up the phone then proceeded to say how crazy she was i had my concerns. Not only extremely unprofessional, but also extremely discomforting. After walking around and eating in the area where the store was located, Mr. Moore called me to tell me he was not going to be able to put on spacers that he asked me to purchase. Something about them having a SOP about adding additional parts to the rear end. Not understanding why he didnt know the when he asked me to purchase them, i was confused and hung up. Returning @3:30 pm to find my truck untouched. Walked in and asked what was the hold up? Young Asian employee under stud my frustration and apologized. After receiving my keys to an unfinished job i saw Mr. Moore on the computer surfing the internet.. Facebook.. Really, maybe he was on break, or maybe he doesnt care about his customers. I have been a loyal customer for 6 years, and after today. i have to say i will no longer be asking pep boys for any service. Mr. Moore defiantly needs a lesson how to treat customers and what "not" to say in front of others..

Ah, just as I figured..... My brakes didnt work at all, pettle to the floor. I also lost all fluid in my right front wheel. They fixed the hose (reconnected it) and added a washer. Lol washer is as cheap as a pack of cigarettes. But labor is ridiculous in cost. So then they say aw the brakes still dont work. Now we need to change the wheel cylinder, master cylinder, bleed again. That may not fix it but its a start itll cost almost 700. They must think Im dumb... I laughed at them told them their crazy and trying to rob people. U called a tow truck took it down the street to another certified shop. Heres the good part 140 dollars later my brakes work, not to mention I got two new rear shocks put in, all this for $170.00 with Warranty out the door. I wouldnt trust this place (Pet Boys) if someone paid me. But I can say one good thing the department area does good sales sometimes. Nah... Go to Orileys for parts and car items. Sincerely, The Coleman family you tried to rip off... You will be reported to bbb and the attorney generals office for falsifying statements on the Quoted paper you gave me, stating leaks that werent there.

Maybe they got new employees or management? Im VERY picky with mechanics, including with all of the other Pep Boys locations in Dallas, and Ive had four consecutive good experiences with this location; They immediately told me that my Nissan Altima had a known issue that was causing my problem before they even tested my car, once. (Something very easy that a previous mechanic failed to fix, even after I had paid him $600.) The Service is good, their fixes are fair and at market price; The last quote I got from them was $300 cheaper than Christian Brothers! They have some older mechanics and some younger mechanics; The younger ones tended to have fun and horse around a bit, but I didnt care; My car worked just fine when I got it back. The NorthWest Highway location is OK too; I didnt like the service at the Plano location; I needed to return a battery there once, and I was told that they were "out of stock" so I would have to go somewhere else? (Out of stock of the most common Pep Boys item you can get?...?? I felt like they just didnt want to take the financial hit from a honoring the warranty.)

I made an appointment for today for 11:00 am. I went in and two employees walked to the computer in the service and tire department and didnt even acknowledge I was standing there. I had to ask twice to get a concurrent response in regards to the warranty on my brake pads and rotors. I scheduled an appointment online for 11am and was told that it would actually be between 1-1:30 when the vehicle could be seen. The employee said that you have to call before you come in because most times they are busy. It is now 5 minutes before 2 and no one has said it will be a longer wait or anything. I find it very inconvenient that if you schedule an appointment online you still have to experience a wait. What is the purpose of setting an appointment? Pep boys was once a place that I held to high standards. I thought the company s mission was to take care of the people and there vehicle. That seems to have since then changed. Today Pep boys demonstrated to me that exact definition of its name. " Pep Boys" because adults wouldnt conduct business in such a disregarded notion.

I have been to this Pep Boy location for many years, as long as I need simple repairs like oil change or parts replacement, they are great. But the minute I need minor or major repairs, Ill go somewhere else. Im an Engineer, I rebuild cars for fun and I have a certification from UTI, but sometimes I just dont have the time to maintain my cars. If you need parts replace this place is good, you need something repaired go somewhere else and watch out for their so called quotes. Once I got a copy of their problems quotes and took my car to UTI to check and we found that half of the problems on the list did not need any repairs. I already reported this location to the Better Business Bureau, Fraud Alert, and to their corporate headquarters. The last time I was in this location was in the summer of 2012. The next time I visit and see the same personnel, I will post again. I also posted this comment to their corporate site with the address to this store and the names of the employees that I dealt with directly.
