Im a former nordstrom employee so Im fully aware of how the experience needs to be when you go here. Thats part of the reason why I love this company so much and will continue to shop here until I cant anymore! Im a Level 2 cardholder here and receive alterations credit every year. Im in a wedding coming up, and I called ahead of time to check with alterations that they would work on non-nordstrom items. Back when I used to work at nordstroms, they would. But I know policies change, and I no longer live in the area so I wanted to be certain before I drove 45 minutes to Barton Creek. I called, and alterations department confirmed that they would work on my garment " as long as it wasnt too extensive" and I told them no I just need the straps taken up a bit, and they told me no problem. The next morning, I take time off from work to drive 45 minutes to get this done and I walk into the womens department for alterations, and they immediately notice I have a bridesmaids dress and tell me they cannot work on it. I told the lady that I called ahead to ensure this wouldnt happen and I was told that you will work on my dress. She kept refusing and being very apologetic. But alterations needs to be on the same page and more descriptive if they dont work on bridal when a customer calls in and drive 45 minutes out of her work day to get this taken care of. Please Please Please get on the same page. This is my first negative experience but I was so enraged that I wasted my time on this.

I went to this store to purchase a mens cologne I had in mind. I was immediately greeted by Tina and she was very nice. Unfortunately, I was stuck between two colognes so she had me spray both options, one on each hand. I stated I would walk around to let the scents settle. I came back an hour later and was greeted by another rep Christina B.; Tina was on lunch. Here is where my bad review starts. Since I came in knowing which cologne I wanted , I felt like Christina was just making the sale and not providing me any customer service experience. She didnt even wish me a good day or thank me for shopping. When I tested and asked which of the two she would like, she responded "I have 7," and then proceeded on bragging which colognes smelled good on her. I had to redirect the conversation and clarify which she would recommend on a man since my question got to her head. I will not be coming back nor recommending anyone to purchase expensive items here because I am a strong believer in exceptional customer service when shopping at high end stores. I will continue my expensive cologne shopping at Neiman Marcus and drive the extra 20 miles. By the way, two of the complementary gifts were filled halfway by her which is ridiculous. Id rather not have the gift at all if your employees are that stingy with Tester quality gifts. Trans# 7308 Store 731 5/22/2016 Raul

I went yesterday as part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to find a cashmere vest Id seen online that said it was in stock at the store. I go upstairs and start looking on my own as no sales person offered to help me. I couldnt find what I was looking for so I asked one sales person to see if he could help me locate, and he just pointed me to a general direction (which I had already been looking at). I asked another sales woman in the section to help me find it, who said they didnt have it. I showed her its in stock and she helped for a few minutes but I think gave up when she couldnt find it. Finally, I asked a third sales person who told me she had seen it downstairs in accessories. So after nearly thirty minutes of wondering around upstairs, Im told Im in the wrong section. I head downstairs to accessories and find it within thirty seconds. I had gone to the Domain store two days prior and had a sales person not only show me where the pieces were, but went ahead and pulled them out herself and set up a dressing room for the pieces. Barton Creek should take a page out of Domains customer service book, because I dont think Ill be coming back to that location for a very long time, even though it is much closer to me.

I went to the jewelry department to have my Michele watch repaired (the pin and a link had came out). To the best of my understanding and from experience, as long as you have the receipt from the purchase, Nordstrom is supposed to repair any minor fix free of charge on a Michele watch. The lady who helped me was very disrespectful and told me she could not help me. Instead the sent me to a a kiosk in the middle of the mall called Precision time, to see a gentleman named Joe and to ask him to repair my watch for free. And just in case he couldnt do it for free, she handed me a 20% off voucher. Joe informed me he does not work for Nordstrom and that he would in fact repaid my watch for free but he was put out she expected him to repair the watch for free. I ended up paying him a small fee. But, that is besides the point. She could have easily repaired my watch with the original parts I had. Very disappointed with the service.

This is a review simply on the mens department in Nordstrom. While its the only department store worth shopping in Austin for guys, its unfortunately too small. Located on the bottom floor packed away in a corner you will find both casual formal wear to have a tiny selection. Most of the time they are out of stock of the common sizes but will order the item for you at another location. Having been to Nordstrom in LA, NYC, Dallas and Houston, this Austin location just doesnt rank with the others. With that being said, they carry great brands like Rag and Bone and Topman. The employees working the floor are generally very nice and accommodating without being too pushy.

Was in the mens shoe department Christmas shopping for my husband and didnt have such a great experience. Let me explain, Im in customer service, if a client/customer walks into our office as a customer service representive you greet that person and ask how they can be helped. Right? Well, I wasnt even acknowledged. Well, actually the guy looked up at me and then looked back down. Another man who walked in after me was given at least a whats up man. But me....nope...not me. I had to walk over to the womens shoe side and have someone stop me over there. Hmm. Ok rant over. Not coming back to this Nordstroms.
