I was in central Austin the other week and decided to ride the bus downtown. After a twenty minute ride which included some folks arguing with the voices in their head and some nordlandian tourists trying their best to sport Westernware (both of which make riding public transit here charming), I got off and walked down to 2nd Street. I soon realized I wasnt in Austin anymore but was somehow transported to Celebration, Florida. I dont know what happened to Austin but this aint it. The place was full of fancy restaurant/bars and people who have a bizarre understanding of what this town is. I know there is an overflow of folks needing a place to crash at the ARCH. I am going to recommend folks move their tents to all of the open space on 2nd

Super cute store, I was told that it was only going to be a PopUp ModCloth shop for a few months, then they are moving on to their next location. There are great find here. I was really into the Vinca jewelry that they had for sale. Its all locally made in Austin. There are great find in this store from clothes to shoes and accessories. The employees are super nice. I wish this location would become permanent.

There is a little bit of everything for anyone. ACL Live is a fantastic spot to swing by for a concert. End it with dinner at Lamberts, La Condesa, The Taverna, Crū, or one of the many coffee shops, bars, or dessert spots to visit. The Second Street Family is growing every year and will soon be connected to the public library that is being completed this year.

Must visit when in Austin!! Lots of restaurants and stores. Make sure to stop by League of Rebels Menswear while you there - very classy, great atmosphere like none other. You can relax on their couch and have a drink while you shop.. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by their quality of their wool suits! Try on one of their shirts too - fits like glove!

This is a moderately nice area of downtown Austin. Best known for the Farmers Market at the Republic Square Park the area around is filled with living areas and shops. At night the area around parking garages can get a little shady.

Great shops and restaurants in this area. Cute place to grab a bite and take a stroll. The garage between San Antonio and Guadalupe, North of 2nd St, takes validations from businesses in the area, so take your ticket with you.

Lots of shopping options! Great to walk down the tree-lined sidewalks and check out a bunch of various types of shops. Olive oils, toy shops and local coffee shops. Clothing stores and a movie theater.

Love hanging out here. Lots of shops to browse though a bit pricey. Lots of character. Parking can be difficult. Check ahead of time if you will be going to a place that validates city hall parking.

A "quieter" area of downtown. Instead of bard you have unique restaurants and local shops. Its a beautiful walk on a nice day. Several hotels in to area including the W Hotel and its ACL theater.

Nice safe outdoor shopping area. The you store is fantastic! There are a couple of nice mens clothing stores and several for women. It is within walking distance of the nearby hotels.
