This is a great concept outdoor shopping center. However, its quite poorly executed. Dont get me wrong, Ive done my fair share of shopping/dining here, but I generally avoid this place like the plague unless theres something I need over here. I love several of the smaller shops that would probably be hard pressed to survive outside of an area like this - Tobacco Lane, Im looking at you. Traffic here is a nightmare, which is my biggest complaint. Also, dont plan on coming anywhere near here on a Friday night to drink at any of the several bars - Arlington Police sit out front and just wait for people to come out and get in their cars. I dont see the traffic in the shopping area itself as ever improving as theyve paved just about every square inch of land possible for more streets/parking/buildings, but the city of Arlington is at least actively trying to manage the traffic to/from by building additional streets and keeping up with the maintenance on those that exist already.

If youre looking for food, entertainment or shopping, look no further than the highlands. While it does have a multitude of places to shop and food to eat, theres also a downside. Cars!! While I havent experienced anything negative when walking around here, that isnt to say accidents dont happen. It feels cramped when the place gets busy or an event is going on here. With the drinking that goes on in some of these places to, Im quite surprised I havent heard of drunk people getting hit or anything. Overall though, a good place to find a good shopping experience, try some great good and even laugh at the comedy club.

The Highlands is not wheelchair friendly. You have to walk in the street just to go across to other stores, only wheelchair ramps are at the end of the block, then from there you can not get on the sidewalk in the middle of the stores there is no access, so a little girl in a powerchair, that can NOT be lifted, just has to hope the cars are kind and respectful and not looking at there phones so they dont hit her...your other option is to move your van, load her up and hopefully find a handicap parking spot on the other side

The Highlands offer an open air shopping experience with a "main street" feel. The shops are situated in such a way where you can park, walk the sidewalk, and window shop. Their are plenty boutique style shops and a few larger anchor stores. There are trees, grass, and benches which make the Highlands a welcome change of pace from your typical three level enclosed mega mall. There are also multiple dining options all within walking distance. An all around pleasant shopping experience!

Awesome atmosphere. Very classy feel to the area. Good luck finding a parking spot. Wish there was more diversity to the types of places here. Lots of restaurants and banks. Only like 1 shoe store. Good thing is that this plaza is beside the Parks Mall. If you want to take your lover on a nice window shopping or taste testing stroll, Highlands is a good place for it. They have Starbucks and Chocolate Factory. Melting Pot and even a comedy club. I give the area a 3 out of 5.

I love the Highlands for its multitude of food options. Its easily accessible and offers plenty of shopping in addition to lunch and dinner options. My biggest complaint is that on Friday/Saturday/Sunday it can be very difficult to find parking, and people often become very rude and competitive while driving around the parking lot looking for parking. Otherwise, the Highlands are great if youre looking for something to do or a good place to eat.

I think the venues here are better than the parks...this is more geared for young adults/adults than for teens in the parks. Good restaurants, tobacco lane, movie theater, world market, petstore and more. Fresh air and eclectic choices. I remember when it was a large field with random stone hendge rock formations back in the day...caelum moore i think it was called and they move the rocks around ranger stadium or cowboy stadium.

I started going at the end of last year (2016) due to an invite. Innovative and really liked the hot sauna and jacuzzi. After a few more visits, I notice the place is not being kept up to par; entry sofa is ripped, shower areas need maintenance, and staff looked tired. Also food prices are exhorbitant for the better quality you can get out in a restaurant. Need to improve or will decay soon.

Definitely a must go to place! They have a huge variety of restaurants for any budget and all types of food in one central area. Asian, Indian, Mexican, American Steakhouses etc. There are clothing stores, spice shops, jewelry boutiques and hair/nail salons as well. A movie theater and ice cream shop right across from it. The clothing stores have late hours for after dinner shopping too.

If youve read Kings Dark Tower series youll be familiar with Lud, and this place. Imagine going to the mall. Uhg. Now imagine everyone is driving their suv inside from store to store. This place is almost unavoidable if you tend to drag your kids to chain restaurants. Red robin is a family favorite. World market. PENZEYS! I find myself at the highlands way to much.

Be prepared to fight traffic here. Not sure why everyone is so defensive, maybe its the fact that there are 6 stop signs for one intersection and no one knows who got to the sign first because you can only see 1/2 of the other signs! Otherwise, its a pretty good place to park and shop. Though, youll have to either walk far to get to everything or youll have park again.

Worst area to come too. Traffic is stupid and no one seems to understand stop signs. All the parking should be on one end or the other and make it walking friendly. We watched 3 different people almost get run over. Avoid this shopping center if you want to keep your sanity. Will not ever come back here. I will visit these stores in other locations moving forward.

Let me first say this area is huge! Lots of shopping, eating and entertainment venues located here. There is something here for everyone in the family. This is definitely a great place to come if you are looking for a place to hang out, eat and have fun playing games or just watch a movie. Lots of free parking all around the stores.

The highlands have a bit of everything. All sorts of restaurants, home goods, clothing stores, pet store, theater and some decent bars. Good place to be productive and hang out afterwards. It stays pretty busy after 5pm most days but, with the exception of holidays, its never overcrowded.

Fantastic new shopping development. Since I go to the nearby Costco a lot, this is very convenient. Must be a hundred retail businesses and restaurants. Also have lots of professional offices above the stores. Beautifully maintained grounds and easy entry and exit from multiple locations.

Love this place! Great alternative to the Parks Mall. More upscale stores and restaurants versus run-of-the-mill stores and food courts found at indoor malls. The Highlands are more like shopping "downtown". Go shopping, have dinner, and take-in a movie all in one enjoyable place.
