As a former employee of Home Depot, it pains me to tell the truth about this store. Home Depot in Spring Hill makes it really inconvenient to spend your money at their store. Its obvious that their number one goal is not to serve their customers, but rather to run their business with the barest minimum of employees on the clock at any given time. They are always understaffed, so good luck finding anyone to help you in most any department. But more irritating is how theyve redesigned their checkout system to operate with the absolute minimum number of employees. You park right by the main door and walk in, which you would think would be convenient. But instantly you discover that there are no cash registers there anymore. So after you do your shopping, you have to haul your stuff to the other end of the warehouse, where they have a group of self-check registers monitored by a couple employees. There are also a couple of actual, staffed registers, but usually the 1-2 employees operating them are standing out in the aisles talking to each other. It looks as though everything but self-check is closed, and clearly these people prefer that you check out by yourself so that they are not inconvenienced. If you can figure out their convoluted system on the fly and you absolutely must have help, they will ring up your purchases. After check out, you now find yourself on the wrong end of the store again, as you parked by the front door and now youre down at the contractor entrance with your cart full of heavy items and/or building supplies. If you thought parking right by the front door would be convenient, youve now realized the error of your ways. So now your choice is to walk your cart back across the warehouse, or strike out cross-country through the parking lot. Whomever designed this moronic checkout system richly deserves ten years of jock itch, along with lots of disappearing sales as normal people flee Home Depot in favor of Lowes. By comparison, the Lowes in Spring Hill is newer, cleaner, better stocked, and overstaffed. They will happily check you out, right at the customer service desk if need be. And you can still park right by the front door. Only at Lowes, they wont punish you for doing so.

5/23/2016. After going to several places to decide on a gas grill to buy, I decided on the Nexgrill 4 burner grill at this Home Depot. I asked the sales clerk at the service desk if someone could get me one of the grills. ( I wanted one in the box brand new and the ones on the floor were scratched up from customers observance ) After waiting aproximately 45 minutes and about to decide to leave, a salesman came by. He informed me that they didnt have anymore in a box and they were all put together already. ( Which in my opinion makes them used already because I am very particular about assembling things myself ) I asked if he had another one in the back that didnt have any customer abuse or scratches. He said, "I will go see what we have. " After another 5-10 minutes he rolled another assembled one out to me. After checking it, I found that the igniter did not work on this one. Now my options are, No new one in a box, A scratched one on the floor, Or a better looking one that does not work! He then told me, " I will go see about another one." So, another 5-10 minutes go by while waiting. He then rolled out another one that looked okay and the igniter worked so I decided to buy it. After paying for it I had to partially disassemble it to get it in my Jeep. When I took the top half of the grill off, I noticed rust in the corners of the stand holding it. ( This making it used again! ) I shop at this Home Depot often and most of my visits have been pleasing. But this is an issue that needs to be addressed. If the product is taken out of the box, it becomes used. And although I am sure that most customers would be pleased with the assembly, I was not. I am very tedious in assembling things like this out of the box. Also, if some one does not have a truck to carry it home, why not get a discount for having to disassemble it to get it in your car. I debated in taking it back after I got home with it. But I can repair everything back to its new condition. ( Costing me a few more dollars ) If this is the best customer assistance for grills at Home Depot, I will shop for my next one elsewhere.

Its not the staff I have a problem with, I actually like most of them. The department heads are experienced in plumbing and electrical. The downside at this store is mainly just the policies and whats in stock. No discounts when you use commercial or regular H.D. credit card, "Lowes 5% off" every purchase. I dont even look anymore at the Spring Hill Home Depot appliances, nothing in stock and just about everything is special order with weeks to receive. Lowes I can get it next day in most cases. Home Depot special order counter-tops etc with a crazy time frame of 6-8 "weeks" out to receive. Lowes special order counter tops 8-10 DAYS! If you need irrigation supplies, nada sending me down to Lowes once again. Ask for a discount at the Pro-Desk at Home Depot you have to have a big minimum order or they wont even consider it even though you spend laterally 10s of thousands a year between the two. Go to Lowes Pro-Desk they will more than likely work with you and give at least 10% off if you ask them. Bottom line is Home Depot Spring Hill needs improvement in size, merchandise and policies.

The Home Depot in Spring Hill has completely exceeded any expectations I had!... I recently purchased my first home, which required the purchase of a new refrigerator. Doug in Appliances Department has gone the extra mile to help me out! He took about an hour one night to explain all the ins & outs of the latest fridge tech and what my best choice would be. Once I bought one, my new Lg fridge got put on extended backorder, so he and one of the managers allowed me to borrow a cheap floor model until my refrigerator was delivered. The Home Depot in Spring Hill has my business! I really appreciate them helping me and showing they care about their customers. You dont see that so often these days. I will be back to do business with them for sure!

It seemed like I had walked around for an eternity, just simply looking for SOMEONE who worked there! Do they just duck behind something when a customer looks like they have a question? This place is pathetic and prices are much higher than Lowes. I know this for a fact because I gave up on finding a live employee here and drove out of my way to Lowes. I cant tell you how many of Lowes employees CAME TO ME, asking if I needed anything. They helped me find the same item I needed and it was cheaper. Ill never step foot in this HD again!
