This Barnes and Noble was the WORST book store I have ever been to in my life. My friend and I were visiting Nashville for the first time and we saw that there was a Barnes and Noble in Nashville. One of the worst things that we ever did was go into this store. First, I know its associated with Vanderbilt University . However, does half the store really need to be all Vanderbilt University items that you can purchase?!?! Its a bookstore, so sell mostly books. However what really topped the whole thing was the rudeness of the staff. Not one time was I ever asked if I needed help finding anything or even just to say hi. Also, I asked a man about seeing if a book was in stock. This man was some type of manager there and he wasnt the friendliest. Also, there was a woman who was training a new employee there and I was right in front of them looking at books. They didnt even say hi or offer any customer service whatsoever. The place was just incredibly rude. Also, in this store, it seemed like the liberal viewpoint was very prevalent and was given preference. Please include conservative viewpoints also. Whoever said Nashville was one of the friendliest cities lied. Its a very rude place of which I will not be visiting again any time soon.

I have been a customer of not only this location of Barnes and Noble since 1992, before it consolidated with Borders Booksellers and it moved into this beautiful, han I am a retired educator from a 16 plus year career in the Nashville Public Schools District. I purchased single editions and continuing sequential book series such as the Harry Potter Series in pre-order and exciting book release events and class sets of books to use in my Readingand Language Arts classes. I bought from this location as well as the Cool Springs Galleria, aas well as Brentwood and Green Hills. The staff always were helpful in locating my n and location sesarches to assure my purchases. They ordered v and my Kindles and all of the necessary chargers. The special events for book released were crowded but such fun with great snacks and finger food with drinks and characters in costumes from the books and and DVDS too were entertaining and they provided fun actives in various areas for students and m as well, helped pass the wait time. Great inventory, helpful staff, and great experiences! location. As an educator in Nashville for over 16 years, I pre-ordered all of v

I like Barnes and Noble in general, but this store is especially great as it is easy walking distance from Centennial Park and the Vanderbilt campus, has the campus bookstore upstairs, and is fully stocked downstairs with a selection of fiction and non-fiction titles and even a mini version of their standard cafe. (The cafe is overpriced as usual.) No kids section set aside like you might find in bigger stores, but there are kids books upstairs next to the college books and Vanderbilt gear.

I find this store exactly like a University book store, one must be observant and respectful to others, students working on important projects, etc. The staff was friendly and responsive when asked for anything. Although Nashville is a friendly southern city, it is not "Mayberry", it is a big city, many people doing, pressures, nevertheless I find that when anyone is addressed politely, the southern charm exudes freely gracious responsive, never solicitous...

Selections can be somewhat limited and, at times, difficult to find. Issues with some sections and finding specific Sun categories. In example, Travel and Language books are labeled for regional sub categories but the specific languages or countries are difficulty to find within. Unable to find books on transportation or model railroading.

I wish it were better listed, but this isnt a full Barnes and Noble. This is a Barnes and Noble that serves as the Vanderbilt campus bookstore. As a result, they dont have the same selection that a full Barnes and Noble normally would. Unless you need textbooks (and honestly, even if you DO need textbooks) or a Vandy beanie, I would skip it.

This Barnes & Nobles, with café, is now the Vanderbilt bookstore and thus has a great selection, including academic textbooks, as well as a frequent crowd of students, professors, and others associated with university. Staff and service are above par for the area, and for any area, for that matter.

Its sad to see the demise of bookstores in this country (I doubt many of the kids coming out of school these days can read) but its nice to be able to go into a brick and mortar store and browse the books before you buy them. The little coffee and snack shop located inside is also an added bonus.

My friend loves books so not stopping here was not an option. The store was well organized and we found some rare books on the sale rack along with a few craft kits and coloring books for our family. I would definitely revisit when in the area.

Coming here for work (Vanderbilt) things, people are trained well in knowing how to process everything we needed. We just bought a bunch of umbrellas for prospective graduate students and they even helped me load them into my car.

Smaller then most, strangely two story, but a nice escape in the middle of a crazy city. A small college book store is hidden in the back and around the beginning of the semester the place is over run with college students.

Ordered sweatshirt and kept getting demand to "complete the form," along with sign saying site not secure. Whats going on here? Poor software or intended scam? Bookstore please clarify.

Staff was helpful in finding books. Understandably a lot of Vandy gear here as it is a campus bookstore but the assortment of items is still impressive nonetheless.

For a regular big chain bookstore, this is about as good as it gets. Proximity to Vanderbilt seems to have had good effect

They dont have too many books. Second floor is half clothes and the other half books. The magazines section is very poor.
