Video games, for most of us, are an outlet, an escape, a past, a present, and a future. No matter the level of skill, I think almost anyone who appreciates video games remembers holding the weird, alien specific Nintendo 64 controller in their hands or couldnt get "Hey! Listen!" out of our heads for days. And its not that video games define us, but they are a part of our lives like a pet you had growing up or memories you hope to never lose. And when someone creates an environment that caters to that importance of our life, it often doesnt hit us right where it needs to. Anyone can walk into a Gamestop, preorder whatever to get whichever exclusive and continue on to their other errands they have set for that day. And the convenience is great and the service is adequate, but when there is something more to offer, why not embrace that? I have to pass two Gamestops and a Wal-Mart to arrive at Play N Trade. I do this not because I have a fuel efficient car or because a song came on the radio I wanted to finish. I do this because when something is important to me I value it. I frequent Play N Trade not only for my current gaming habits but also the nostalgia I often embrace. Its very rare you walk into a store and youre overwhelmed with the selection, environment, customer service, and comfort. As soon as you walk in, the new selections are placed right in front of you. But as you walk back, you cant help but stop and pick up the cases to the games you grew up playing or catch yourself in conversation with one of the employees about a anticipated title or reminiscing on days when the first PlayStation released. The selection is one of the many things that I admire about Play N Trade. I can spend hours of looking and more money than I should. Although other game stores may have a similar selection, Ive never seen a store keep things as cleaned and organized the way Play N Trade does. If you had never been there before, youd assume they had only been open for a couple weeks. And for as loyal as I have stayed, they are just as loyal back. Almost every employee knows me by name and no matter what the situation, they take care of my requests to the fullest. For the off chance they dont have something I want, I can trust theyll call me as soon as they do. They are honest when it comes to game selection and endlessly knowledgeable on every product they offer. Gaming, for me, is one of the most important parts of my life, so I will treat it that way by shopping at the best video game store in middle Tennessee.

I used to pop my head in every now and then and always at least made purchase here or there. I wasnt a regular by any means but its not like Ive never went or just window shopped. I honestly will not be doing business with them anymore after a recent experience. Ill sum it up in a few short points. 1- Diablo 3 came out, I had a preorder at different store, was going to trade in some games to save some cash, the guy I talked to told me they had more coming in the very next day and all I had to do was call and theyd hold on to a Collectors edition for me and I could come in and trade my games in. 2 - I called next day, got a different worker, and he told me that they were for preorders they were taking up until the evening of YESTERDAY, none of them were for retail sale and that I had to come in to put in a preorder and if I wanted to, I could trade in my games to put towards it. I proceed to tell him what I was told the previous day and he apologized, but told me my only chance was to wait a week and see if no one picked up their copy as they hold their preorders up to a week. He also mentioned that the guy from the day before shouldve told me I HAD to come in that day in order to make sure Id get a Collectors Edition. I am now s**t out of luck with no collectors edition because of this and quite frankly, with a big game release like this, the guy who initially told me I could just call in ahead of time didnt know what he was talking about and shouldve known better AND told me the proper information. This is a poor way to interact with your customers and while I wasnt their to shop from them every pay check, what money they did get from me time to time will now be going elsewhere. I have to skulk and creep around on ebay and amazon to hopefully find an unopened copy for a good price, hard to do seeing as people who bought the CE game for $100 are now selling them for $250 dollars if not more. Great job Play n Trade, keep up the good work.

Ive been going to the store for quite some time. They were very welcoming after a terrible preorder experience at Gamestop(they sold a fully paid for preorder after a day of me not picking it up). Every time I go in there, the employees are very helpful in helping me make a decision of which games I should pick up. The issues Ive had with any of my consoles have been easily repaired by them. The staff is always easy to strike up a conversation if it isnt too busy in the store. Prices for used games and accessories are really good(Got an HDMI cable when I got a new TV for less than $10). They also carry energy drinks such as Bawls. They have also recently started taking and repairing iPods and iPhones. What I like most is that every once in awhile they will have a Buy 2 used Games get 1 free. This is a great way to pick up some old games that a customer can finally play if they were unable to get those games at that time. The only complaint I have is out of the stores control. The distribution companies tend to give more of the special editions to the corporate giants like Gamestop, so its hard to get a collectors edition from companies that actually make a limited amount of them. Other than that there isnt really anything. Overall the service is awesome, great place, and great products.

The staff are kind and relatable, i always feel as if they have given the best course of action for whatever Ive come in for. The selection is beautiful, you have a good range of the classics and you have all the new releases, their midnight releases are always enjoyable! I recall the Gears of War 3 midnight release and they held a trivia contest, they offered special stuff for 1st and 2nd place. I came in 2nd and it was simply a great time. The only reason i withheld that 5th star on Play and Trade is they are a small chain. They dont have cetain benefits you would find in those ruthless power hungery chains, like Game Stop. Although Game Stop will charge you out the ass for those benefits. So all in all Play and Trade is the best but they dont have it all.

I love PnT. I used to drop in all the time just to say hello before I moved. Everyone at the store is so friendly and helpful, and genuinely interested in helping you find exactly what youre looking for. If they dont have what you want, you get put on a call list for if the game gets traded in. They hold excellent per-release midnight launches, and you can try out ANY GAME before you buy it! How could anyone NOT love this amazing store?! Everytime I visit home, one of the first places I go when Im in town is PnT, because I miss having a GOOD game store so close. I appreciate the store so much more now that Ive moved to a place that only has Gamestops, which has the most uncaring, mean people working at their stores... I love you Play N Trade :D
