At first I was dreading going to a car lot to purchase my new car...as soon as I got 2 steps out of my car a salesman shoved his hand in my face and handed me his card. I asked him to show me the restroom and when I came out I said that I will let him know if I need anything. I then proceeded to go online and look at reviews and saw some excellent reviews on one Jennifer Butler. I went back into the building and asked for Jennifer Butler to assist and that she did. Jennifer was very approachable, informative and knowledgeable about all aspects of the process. Jennifer made the purchasing process extremely easy. Maybe I should of stuck with a salesman that I didnt like because then I would of stuck to my guns about the little things that bothered me after the sale. After the sale I thought about the things that I wasnt happy about..... I dont feel that Jennifer really fought for the rock bottom price I was asking for (which was only a out $1300 less than I paid for the car). I put $6k down on a pre-owned vehicle so for my credit score they did get me a good rate but they didnt come down off the price of the vehicle like I was really wanting. I thought the least she would offer would be new tires for the vehicle since I complained about them several times (did I say I complained about the tires several times because I did)....they did replace the battery since it was dead when we went to test drive it Lastly the key to the car that I got had electrical tape around it....Honda keys have a known issue for doing this and thought they would have at least gotten a new key made for the car . RECAP: 1. Jennifer Butler - gets 4 stars - only bc I felt she should of fought a little more for a better price and bc the little things should of been taken care of by the dealership and not left up to me post sale. 2. not getting the price I want - 3 stars 3. not getting new tires and/or a new key - 1 star - now I am going to have to go out and spend $400 on tires and about $100 on a new key for my car because the right set of tires makes a difference to whether you feel like you are driving a new car or pre-owned and I cant have a new car with a broken key or a key that is taped together with electrical tape. Had I at least gotten new tires and a new key for my vehicle I would have at least given 4 and a half stars. I mean I havent bought a new car in a while but I dont think that many people will walk in to a dealership and be willing to put down $6k on a car (I started out at $5k). Although I dont feel I was pressured into purchasing with them....I also dont think they went out of their way to make me completely happy with my purchase. all in all I guess it could been worse but it could have also been perfect....... UPDATE - So after further consideration, I decided that the price point on my car was "fair". And the key was a simple fix, by removing the tiny screw from my old honda civic keys and putting it in my new keys the key is now like brand new. As far as the tires go...well still not completely happy with them but my sales person Jennifer Butler did go above and beyond and actually call around and get tires priced out for me. After all is said and done, I can go 4 and a half stars. :)

Disappointed. If you asked me one word to describe this dealership, that would be it. With all of the deals out there, I would strongly recommend going someplace else to get your new or used vehicle. I first came to this dealership last week when looking for a new family vehicle. My wife and I were looking at a Toyota Sienna minivan and we saw a used one on the lot. I had done my research, so I knew exactly what I was looking for and how much I should spend for a particular vehicle make and model. I found one that possibility fit the bill and that we liked, but I wanted to look around before making a purchase decision. With the ice storm that has hit Nashville all week, the first opportunity we had to visit the dealership was this weekend. Unfortunately the van I was looking at last weekend had been sold. The salesman told me about a new trade-in that would be ready today if I wanted to come back in the morning to see it. That night when talking to the general manager, I was given a price. When comparing other vehicles, I wanted to get a Toyota certified to Toyota certified comparison. Another dealership had offered me a complete wrap, a bumper to bumper comprehensive policy, up to 100,000 miles. The GM stated for the price they offered that they would also add the complete wrap to the vehicle. I agreed to come back in the morning. Today, my wife and I ventured out in the bad weather, ice and rain, to go look at the van at the dealership. My wife and I drove the van and made an offer on it. The dealership countered with an amount that was approximately $1,200 more than we offered. I agreed on an additional $1000 and we had a deal. The whole time we were filling out the application and the sales contract, I asked about the certified warranty and wrap coverage. The sales person gave us a book and told us that the finance person would go over the actual wrap warranty. I asked if he could write it down on any of the sales documents, but he said to trust him and the finance guy would take care of it. Went to the finance person and we were approved for the loan, however the dealership added the cost of the warranty onto the “Out the Door” price we negotiate next door. After a brief discussion with the finance person our sales person was called in to verify the conversation. Our sales person verified that the wrap warranty was what we talked about, but the finance person stated that the general manager would not make the deal with the warranty included. My wife and I got up and left without completing our purchase. No vehicle is worth a dishonest transaction and that is exactly what this was. Disappointed. This is the only word I can say that comes to my mind. I could not in good conscious recommend this dealership to anyone. If you choose to use this dealership, make sure that everything is written down and signed before you go to the financing office. Otherwise you just wasted either your time by being there or your money where they add it on in the end. Please refer to BBB CASE#: 37117066 for the facts of the matter.

Went into Rivergate Toyota on 07-16-17 just to mainly look at the new Toyotas. Instantly, we were greeted very warmly by Mr. James R. Hardaway. He was exceptional when it came to questions about the new Toyotas, versus comparable competition today. We took a big interest in a 2017 Toyota Camry SE and he went above and beyond on explaining to us why the Toyota Camry is the biggest selling sedan in the car market today. When we decided we would like to buy this particular car, he was not pushy or extremely desperate to make a sale : more like he really took it to heart that we liked the Camry and was willing to make a deal with them right there on the spot. After we decided to make a deal, he worked extremely hard to get the papers and forms ready. He explained to us everything in extreme detail, and he was not hesitant to inform us of many important things that we may need or not need to know down the road. After we got all of the forms ready, we were advised and sent to Mr. Dax Speer the Finance Manager. He worked just as hard and warm heartedly as Mr. Hardaway on making sure that we could drive away in that new 2017 Camry. He also went above and beyond on making sure we had everything we needed in order to make the deal with them that day. Being that it was mainly just the two men that we did talk and deal with, the rest of the Rivergate Toyota Team welcomed us with open arms from the time we first arrived on the lot, until the time we drove out of the lot. They treat you like family, and it shows that they want to treat their customers just like they would treat their own family. Moving to a big, brand new, state of the art dealership down the road isolated from everything else around is also a huge plus for them. Being told that they would have more room, room lot room and everything they need to provide a full-service dealership is also a huge comfort knowing that we can take our Toyota to them anytime we need in order to make sure it runs and meets up to Toyotas highest expectations. Lastly, we just want to take the time and thank everybody at Rivergate Toyota for dealing with us proud car owners from Clarksville, Tennessee. Having been to many different dealerships in nearby cities, nobody treated us like Rivergate Toyota, nobody. For that reason, we will be forever grateful to you and hope that you will always provide a first-class and terrific dealership. Again, special thanks goes out to James R. Hardaway and Dax Speer for selling us the new 2017 Toyota Camry SE. Larry, Vickie & Trevor Reynolds (Clarksville, Tennessee)
