Do Not, I repeat, do not buy flowers or gifts from this place. I purchased flowers for my wife recently and when she brought them home I found out that they didn’t include roses in the arrangement (the prime flower). When I called to find out why, I was told they were out so they replaced the roses with carnations. The owner, Ms. Mears explained to me that carnations were a fair substitution in value to roses – what! I also ordered an upgraded arrangement (the deluxe) and paid an additional $10 only to find out that what was delivered was smaller then their standard/cheaper version (bate/switch). Of course, I felt cheated, however, I attempted to give them a chance to resolve - either with a modest refund or by simply offering to send a replacement arrangement. The owner, Ms. Mears said that they were well within their right to substitute flowers not available, even with less expensive flowers. I pointed out to Ms. Mears that I specifically noted on the online form that I didn’t want a product substitution, if what I requested was not available. Once I started questioning the logic of her explanation - the owner became angry that I was not dropping my complaint an hung-up on me. Mind you - this was not an employee making $7 an hour this was the owner of Sunshine Flowers & Gifts! I strongly suggest that you do biz with other florist in the Lebanon, TN area. I suspect Ms. Mears often sends less expensive flower arrangements hoping that the sender does not find out.

My fiance ordered flowers for her mothers birthday from Sunshine via the internet. She specifically requested that they be delivered to her mothers home on her birthday, January 2, and even paid for expedited delivery to ensure that it happened. Special instructions to deliver them to the house, leave them on the front porch if no one was home were included in a confirmation phone call my fiance placed after the internet order was placed. First off, the florist attempted to call my fiances mother to let her know that she had some flowers on the way (she was at work and unable to answer the phone). Second, the florist waited until ten minutes before they closed for the day to call my fiance and inform her that they were unable to contact her mother for delivery. Needless to say, her mothers birthday surprise got to her the day AFTER her birthday. Its not like anything elaborate was ordered and she lived twenty miles outside of town. No, it was a simple bouquet of Lillies and her mother resides less than two miles from the florist shop. Why wait until ten minutes before you close to notify someone of a problem? Why call the recipient of the surprise gift, when instructions were just to deliver them to the home? Why charge the additional funds for expedited delivery if delivery was not completed as instructed? This is not the first issue either of us, my fiance and I, have had with Sunshine, but it will be my last issue with them.
