Good location and bagels are above average. The atmosphere is equivalent to most so no extra stars here. So why only two stars? Well most coffee shops are accepting of paying guests using their space for study, reading or other scholarly endeavors. Evidently it is not okay to buy breakfast and bottomless coffee and remain for a few hours per the owner. I was asked to leave after a few hours of studying even after paying for breakfast and coffee. This could be understandable if there were a significant amount of people waiting for a table. That certainly was not the case. So in summation, I will say the bagels are above average, coffee adequate and the owner unkind to his loyal patrons.

First of all, I have no issue with the food. I was Im politely asked to leave to make room for the lunch crowd. My wife and I have frequented the Bagel Exchange over the past couple of years. I had eaten breakfast this morning and stayed through the morning studying. I was sitting at a small booth big enough for two people. Around 1130, the owner, Keith, told me and my friend that we needed to leave to make room for his lunch crowd. Guess what Keith. My seat will remain vacant. You are an ignorant businessman. You are in a small town where reputation matters and word travels. Throwing out a consistent paying customer for no good reason is a mistake.

The food is pretty good. Ive had one of the lunch sandwiches, which had Boars Head meat (my favorite), but I wish the meat had been heated up. I had a bagel with cream cheese, and that was pretty good. I also had a breakfast sandwich. Definitely tasted the best. However, the customer service leaves something to be desired. It seems like the staff (or perhaps the owners) are annoyed to be dealing with customers, often asking questions in a rushed manner and a visible discontent when asked to repeat. Ill be back, but dont come here for friendly service.

This place has amazing bagels. They import the dough from NY. The Feel of the restaurant is very NY. They charge way too much on things. I got a bagel toasted and butter on it.. they charge like .75 cents for butter.... for BUTTER!!! Come on guys!!!! For a sausage egg and cheese bagel its like $6. With all of that said I still visit this place at least once a month. If the pricing was better I would visit so much more often.

Fantastic bagels, sandwiches, and great coffee. It has a great atmosphere and is a fun place to hangout and enjoy a few cups of coffee and a meal. This is a small restaurant that can fill up quickly. The complaints regarding being unable to sit for hours and hours from breakfast through lunch with the crowds that come through are silly and show a lack of respect for other paying patrons and the owners.

The Bagel Exchange is my favorite Saturday morning breakfast spot in downtown Kingsport. On Saturday mornings in the summer, you can sip your coffee, eat your bagel sandwich, and then walk a few blocks down to the Farmers Market. If I am hungry, my favorite is the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich. For something a little lighter, I recommend the everything bagel with honey walnut cream cheese.

Owner and crew are great, and I always try to stop by when I go through town to visit family. Whenever I hear people will be going near by while traveling, or if I hear they live nearby, i HAVE to tell them to stop by this place. I can never find a bagel place that makes me crave bagels like the NY Bagel Exchange in Kingsport, TN!

The best, freshest bagels you will ever find. Ive never tasted bagels so soft and flavorful. My sister lives in D.C. and always stops here when shes in town because she says shes never had better bagels anywhere else. Great upstairs loft area to eat or meet in a quieter area.

Stopped here for breakfast on a whim. I dont know what I was expecting, but I got my bagel sandwich and was shocked at how big it was. It was the biggest, freshest bagel Ive ever had. The place is also meticulously clean and all around a cute hole in the wall breakfast place

Two favorites: Turkey club on sun dried tomato bagel, and when I dont care about clogging my arteries - a Reuben on pumpernickel bagel (heated). Youre welcome! Sandwiches are large enough to share for a light lunch with a side. Five Star for Kingsport

We think the breakfast bagels here are great. The bagels are fresh, not thick and heavy like store bought bagels, and their coffee is always hot and fresh.
