Two years ago I was a regular customer of office depot in Kingsport TN. Back then I knew I could walk in and get anything I needed and there would be helpful eployees to answer my questions. There used to be some one at the door to great me, and help me find things, and there used to be several cashiers waiting to cash me out. Im ignorant about electronics but there used to be several older employees there who could explain computers to me in simple terms and help me with what I need. One of them even had his brother come out to fix my computer for nothing, when there was nothing he could figure out for me in the store. Now if I can find someone on the sales floor its some young kid just out of high school who barely knows what he is selling much less what it does. I was sent home with the wrong item three times in a row when the sales person told me that the item I was looking for was out of stock. Finally I brought my IT guy in with me and he found the exact item I was looking for down the isle from the product I was sold. when I asked to see a manager about the service, The girl at the checkout (who was the only one on checkout) called back on her headset, and from what I caould tell was ignored as she had to call back three times before getting an answer. She asked me to step aside and wait for the manager. I waited 15 minutes and asked her to see if the manager was on his way, she called back and told me the manager would be right there. I waited another ten minutes before I saw her walking up from the back of the store. Before she got to me though she stopped to help another customer. She spent another 15 minutes with her. by now its been 40 minutes since I asked to see her. when she finally got to me I explained what happened and she simply asked "what do you want me to do about it?" No apology for the poor service or the amount of time I had to wait. At the very least I expected her to offer to council her staff, and try to do better next time. I have shopped at office depot for the last time.

I just called the store to check on price and availability of ink cartridge. Got hold of Lewis who asked if it was ink or laser. As it is a work unit that I have just received, I asked if the model # was not enough to indicate type. I asked if he had a book that would tell and he snipped back that he had access to the internet but that didnt tell him anything either. Not an acceptable nor an accurate response as when I looked it up on the internet it gave me all the info I needed. When I called back to speak to a manager regarding the rude customer service, I was given a fake name by another employee (I suppose to keep me from talking to the actual manager) Very poor behavior when these items are available many other places....one of which will get my business.

On Sunday the 28th of December 2014 I tried to purchase a number of large gift cards. I had done this before and our company is known within the store computer in their rewards program.. It didnt matter, the cash register ( probably because it was a Sunday), rejected the request and I was told by the manager on duty that there was nothing he could do about it. I was told to come back the next day. When I called on Monday the store manager basically said it was the company policy and that was it. My company business will clearly go elsewhere.

I have access to two stores, Bristol Va and Kingsport. I have had very poor service from the print desk. Specifically one short haired lady. Since I almost always do printing with them, she is the reason for the poor rating. The one at Bristol Va has been great, friendly kidding around and enjoyable. So not all Office Depots are the same.

I have dealt with this specific Office Depot many times over the years and for the most part have been pleased with their service. There were a few times when I was dissatisfied with a few workers but that since seems to have been corrected. Overall though I will continue to do business with the folks at Office Depot.

I agree with a post someone else posted. Worst customer service. I have been to multiple locations and the kingsport location insisted I pay the same price for double sided copies as single sided copy & I made the copies. Insisted because I made the copies the bulk discount did not apply.

worst customer service i have ever had with a company. They act like they dont wont to help you and make you feel stupid when you tell them what you are looking for. They advertise it but then dont sell it so i wont be going back.

I had a difficult time finding stuff in the store. Their website was not very helpful either. They did have alot of things that most brick and mortar stores do not keep in stock.
