I went to the Germantown Hardware Store in Germantown to buy a New Weed Eater Trimmer for my yard. I bought the Trimmer and while putting it my car I noticed that it was used. I took the Trimmer back into the store right then, and told the Germantown Employee "Roy" that the Trimmer was used. He told me that it was new and he just put it up on the shelf before I came into the store. Roy and I argued over it and then Roy said to me "GET OUT OF HERE"! I took the Trimmer to another sales person, showed it to them, and got a refund of my money. I "Got Out of There" and will never go Back! Beware! Open the box before you leave the store to check and see if you are getting a NEW Product or not.

This is a small hardware store, so its difficult to compete with big box store prices. I do shop at the big box stores 95% of the time, but Germantown Hardware is a great place for oddball items. I can go in there and buy a handful of nails in a paper bag for cheaper than a plastic, manufactured carton of nails from Lowes or Home Depot. Im rating this place 3 stars because the cashiers usually greet you, but the owner (manager?) isnt very friendly. Hes always there and almost never talks to me when I walk by. If I owned a small business, Id be a little more outgoing.

I would not buy anything from this store. I talked to the lawn and garden department about buying a trimmer and received some information that I thought was a joke. The worker insisted on informing me that if I used any trimmer commercially that it would void the warranty. I advised him that his statement was untrue as some trimmers do carry commercial warranties. Instead of being educated he proceeded to tell me he didnt want to argue. Ill take my business elsewhere and suggest you do the same.

The worst experience ever! Do not take a lawnmower here ever. They will keep it for over a month and call you to tell you its fixed, then it not be. Wait another couple of weeks, get a call its fixed....go to pick it up, and still not fixed. Finally picked it up and they charged more than they said they would. Mower still not fixed. Called the manager and was told to bring it back and they would remove the transmission and give a refund. REALLY? OMG! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN!

Would love to support a local hardware store...been here several times over the past year and just cant go back anymore. Awful service at front counter and throughout the store. Nobody wants to help you and nobody talks to you when you give them your money. They sit around at front of store as if they are going to help you when you walk in but they just stare at you.

I cant comment on the Hdwr. section, but the people in the bk. are mechanics like Jeffery Dahmer was a gourmet cook . I never trust them for major sm. eng. work, but fully 70% of my attempts to buy parts, ie: bolts/knobs, throttle cables, air fltrs, etc. for my Honda mower, Im given the incorrect part.
