My husband bought me $125 worth of gift certificates for Christmas in 2009, I got pregnant shortly thereafter and couldnt use them. I put them away and honestly forgot about them until I came across them a few weeks ago. There is no expiration date on the certificates so when I went to use them I was told I would only get $50 credit toward a $160 tattoo instead of the total face value that was paid. The ownership has not changed and there is no expiration date on the certificates!! I was told by the owner, Jason Lightfoot, that HE is the one that is going to lose money on the tattoo...Im not exactly sure how thats possible since HIS SHOP HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID $125. Basically hes telling me that he wants me to pay $235 for a tattoo that, by his own admission, is only worth $160. I say $235 because my husband has already given him $125, of which he is only willing to give me $50 credit, and I have to come out of pocket another $110 for the tattoo. $50 is not even 1/2 the value of the gift certificates, which again HAVE NO EXPIRATION DATE!! The last time I checked when a person pays for a service that they never receive its called FRAUD or STEALING. I will be leaving reviews everywhere I possibly can and I am still considering my legal options at this point!! Mr. Lightfoot may have a great portfolio but his customer service skills are highly lacking, if you want to be treated fairly and respectfully I would suggest finding another shop!!

I got my tattoo from Jay at Shanghai Tattoo about a year ago. I had one other tattoo, so I sort of knew what to expect but Im glad to say that my experience at Shangai was MUCH better than the place I went to in NC. I wanted to design my own tattoo so I took a sketch to the shop, and Jay used it to get exactly what I wanted. I decided on a vine design on my ribs. I was a little nervous with it being on my ribs, but the guys at the shop assured me that their equiptment was top of the line, and they used a type of needle that was not as painful, and after the fact, I would agree that this tattoo, even being in a more tender area, was not as painful as the first. Jay was patient to sit down and do the tattoo in one sitting, with just a little touch up needed on a later date, and the total time was over five hours! I was impressed with the overall mentality of the shop. Suprisingly friendly, and supportive! I would recommend this shop to anyone getting something touched up, added to, or first timers! Very Happy with mine!

Jason did an amazing job on my tattoo design. Cherry blossoms and twisting branches all along my neck, back, and left side to my hip. We had an initial consultation and he came up with the design freehand. It took 14 hours and four sittings and came out great! That being said; Jason is a popular artist so you shouldnt just expect to show up and have him drop everything hes doing to talk about the cross you want on your arm or a tribal he could probably do in his sleep with his eyes closed. If you want to get something unique done, I guarantee hed be happy to create something with you. And for gods sake, listen to his suggestions! He knows what hes talking about. I cant wait to get the rest of this body layout started.

Jason Lightfoot is such an amazing artist. He has captured exactly what i want every time. He takes my ideas and turns them in to great works of art. He adds so much of his years of knowledge and skills to each piece that the tattoo is 100 times more than i thought possible. Jason has such a light hand and uses only the best equipment which makes this painful Love of mine so much easier. Good Things. Him and his staff create such and amazing relaxing atmosphere for everyone that you will feel at home and when the tattoo is finished you almost dont want to live. Good Times. I had a fantastic experience here, I got my first tattoo done a day ago. It turned out WAY better than I could have ever expected, everyone was very nice and welcoming . I was a little nervous but my nerves calmed very quickly when I met the tattoo artist. My tattoo is very fresh still but hardly hurts at all, feels like a mild sunburn . I have already gotten compliments on how well done it is. There is basically no swelling or redness at all. I will DEFINITELY be returning for my next tattoo. They did a wonderful job!

I had a really crappy heart "thing" on my back before today. I gave Jason a basic picture of what I wanted and he made it completely badass. I can now be proud of the art I have on my body. And, I want to throw it out there that the piece of art he gave me is in memory of my grandmother. He perfected it, went above and beyond for me and I appreciate him so much for doing so. I can carry my grandma on my back with me until I see her again and be proud of that for the rest of my life.

I got my first tattoo there and Jordi did a fantastic job. It was on my butt and I never felt uncomfortable or in much pain. They also allowed a friend to sit in the room with me for moral support. Good work for a good price!
