We have been a member and shopped at the Costco Store in Spartanburg every sense they opened. My wife and I have a large family so we buy in bulk. I usually frequent there 2 to 4 times a month. Up until 4 to 6 months ago I would have given them 5 stars. The last half a dozen times we went there the associates have seemed rushed and seemingly not as respectful. Example: When you check out at Costco the assistant helps take your items out of the buggy to be scanned. Lately, more times than not the associate has tossed our fresh fruit and vegetables onto the counter with no regard to the bruising they may have just caused. Use to the associates ALWAYS asked if you wanted them to box your items...now you have to request it and they act as if it is a bother. Lastly, we were there a few Sundays ago. They close early on Sundays and rightfully so. The time had gotten away from us and we were still shopping. Now mind you when we go we usually spend $250 to $350 dollars. We dont just go to pick up a couple gallons of milk. Anyway an associates comes up to us and says, "We are closed!" You need to check out!" Now we where almost done and very close to the registers anyway. Now up until that moment no warning had been given to us that the store had closed. I understand that associates want to get off work too. I just believe this could have been handled in about a dozen different ways that would have been better. The kicker was when we got to the register to check out the associate at the register asked if we wanted to buy a gas card. My wife and I exclaimed, as if practice, NO! We didnt care if it was $0.50 a gallon. Over all Costco is still better than SAMs to shop at for now!

Went to Costco in Spartanburg today, shopped as usual and had a good experience. As I was leaving, my girlfriend wanted a water from the drink machine. So I put in .50 cent and hit the button, the machine malfunctioned and did not dispense the bottle of water. No big deal, I inserted another .50 and hit a different water selection, dispensed no problems. I wasn’t even worried about the .50 cent loss from the original. I then decided to purchase a root beer from a different machine that was 1.50. I inserted the money and that machine malfunctioned as well. I then decided to find a manager and address this. The manager walked up and I told her the machine had eaten 2.00 of mine and did not dispense anything. She said "You kept putting money in the machine", treating me like I was an idiot. After I explained I believe she realized she smarted off a little early and tried to give me a bottle of water, and 1.50. However, it was too late and I was not going to continue talking with someone who insults me when I pay a membership fee to be a part of their warehouse. I declined the water and 1.50, and left. I expect so much more when I pay for service through membership, and I approach someone nicely, only to get insulted. Poor management, poor customer service...if you don’t like your job that deals with the public...please quit.

Love the place most the time, would normally rare 5 stars, but when you are out and about and just have a random thought to go buy something you need...stop by your Spartanburg store at 6:22 p.m not realizing that we missed you being open (which bad on us) only to have a gentleman wearing tan carhartts, baseball cap and pushing carts to literally yell "were closed! We closed at 6!" Oo, dude...a simple "we closed at 6 folks, but open tomorrow" would have been just fine.....after sitting in the parking space for 7 more minutes to find somewhere open we could find a similar product we heard this same guy continue to do it numerous more times at cars driving by or anyone who parked. Not sure what his issue was but yelling and being slightly aggressive isnt the best approach...I would have rather run into the closed door on the front of your store than to hear someone yell towards our car the second we pull in. It took everything I had not to yell back at the bearded fella but that wouldnt fix anything.

Costco is awesome. I try to do the majority of my grocery shopping here. They have tons of options, provided youre willing to shop in bulk. The brands they stock are all top notch, even the Kirkland Signature brand (Costcos generic brand). Prices are reasonable, perhaps somewhat higher than cutthroat Walmart prices but for far higher quality. Considering they charge a membership fee for entry, most of the crowds that plague other stores never really show up here. Weekends are typically more busy than weekdays, but not terrible. Gas prices are always dirt cheap here, easily the cheapest in town. They also offer a variety of services including pharmacy, photography, tire services, and more. Furthermore, all the workers are knowledgeable and helpful. Costco is THE place to shop, hands down.

I LOVE Costco. I have been going to the Spartanburg Costco for over 3 years now, since I moved to the Asheville area, even though it is an hour drive each way. (I sure wish Costco would open a location here). I love Costcos tire service (always helpful and honest). I love Costcos Pharmacy (lowest price for most of my generic prescriptions... I checked & charted). Great customer service (Costcos return policy is second to none). In my opinion, the best value in food around... quality products at good prices. Thank you Costco for making it possible to live within my limited budget.

What great customer service provided to me by Charles L. Thank you for going out of your way to help me secure tickets that saved me a lot of time and money. It is times like this I am glad I am a Costco member again and plan on being for a long time. In just this one transaction the membership fee more than paid for itself. Definitely check out Costco if you are looking to travel anywhere, and their prices are hard to beat.

Costco has always been on the top of my list. I not only enjoy the store, I also enjoy the way the employees treat you. The pharmacy has the lowest PRICES around. Compare and you will find out. To top it off when I talk to the employees they brag about how Costco treats them as far as pay and insurance. That there makes me want to put my money where employees are treated well !! Thank You Costco!

Used to be a Sams Club member but after going shopping with our son & daughter-in-law, we decided to join Costco. The Spartanburg location has friendly, helpful employees and is a clean well-stocked store. No complaints or problems with returns. The hot dog and drink (or pizza slice & drink) are the best bargains around for a quick lunch. Keep up the good work.

I would 5-star all Costcos, however, this is the largest one I have been in. It has several more aisles than the three in my home state (Indiana). You cant beat the quality of Costco product. The Kirkland name brand is phenomenal. Products do vary by region, and this location has great Wisconsin cheeses!
