Giving a 1 because I cant give a zero. I unintentionally brought in coffee from another local business into this one as I like the breakfast here and the other local place opened literally less than a week ago and we wanted to check it out. Ill preface this by saying there was in fact a sign saying outside something about no outside food, HOWEVER, there was also a tradeshow/festival going on right outside of the store with the streets blocked off/shut down AND tons of people outside wiggling past each other. missing a sign is rather easy to do in that environment. I feel like this whole situation could have been avoided simply by saying "Sir, theres a sign outside that says no outside food/drink is allowed, you will have to finish your coffee outside." Instead, he allows us to order, we sit down, and he brings us our food in to-go containers. When we proceed to eat in the store THAT is when he blows up and makes a huge scene in front of a crowded restaurant and starts off by literally YELLING at us saying "You guys arent from around these parts are you?!?!?" and then proceeds to interrupt before we even get a chance to respond with "its a slap in his face, hes a ex-marine, old-fashioned..." etc then GRABS my coffee moves it away from me then grabs his cups and puts our coffee in his cups. He continues his tirade for another minute or so while the rest of the restaurant is watching and then tells us were not welcome there.... We drive from Greenville, roughly 25 minutes away, passing tons of other local coffee/breakfast places once or twice a month to come to this place and bring friends and this is how we were treated. There was a festival/tradeshow outside and we walked around looking at things before going into here only to get scolded like a 10 year old...we were buying food, I personally left a $2 tip on a $5 tab because I loved that place and the atmosphere, love support small local business, and the coffee we did bring was from another small downtown local business, Barista Alley that JUST opened a week ago. I refuse to promote a place where the business owner has a short-fuse, grabs my property while yelling at me and tells me Im not welcome because he may possibly feel threatened by another coffee shop opening in town (that isnt even his market/demographic.) Rather than sitting politely I should have told him that I too am a veteran, he shouldnt touch my property, and Ill show him how to politely conduct business rather than make a scene. I will however be getting my coffee once or twice a month from the other coffee shop in town (Barista Alley) because they are polite and know how to conduct themselves professionally.

Ive been to this place several time and always enjoyed there food. Went in this morning while walking around downtown Greer. I spent about $10 on some breakfast and as always left over 20% for tip. We sat down at the bar waiting for our food. Our food came out in to go boxes which I thought was kind of odd. We started eating and about 5 minutes in the owner (middle age gentleman) came up to us and said, "you boys aint from around here are you?" I replied "not originally". This guy proceeded to get heated and scolded us In front of the rest of the customers for having outside coffee with us that we had bought while walking around. He said, "Im old southern person and a former marine and what youre doing greatly offends me bringing in your coffee! This is a slap in the face to me and my business!" He grabbed our coffee cups and at this point I thought he was going to get physical, put the cups in his cups and let us know that we werent welcome. He went on for about two minutes raising hell at us. He did state there was a sign out front that did say no outside food or drink. I did apologize for missing this in which case I was in the wrong. However Ive NEVER been treated and embarrassed like this in a restaurant before. I will no longer be supporting this place which saddens me. Ive also previously left a fantastic review of this place, recommend to alot of friends and spent money there to support local business. This is not the way to treat people especially the ones that support you. Perhaps the owner was having a bad day which weve all had. I wish the best of luck to him and his business. I hope this helps.

Absolutely, positively loved it. Went there yesterday for the first time with my friend, and I had a hazelnut latte and the Greek Gyro...mmmm...so fresh & tasty and the coffee was served in a huge ceramic mug (not paper or styrofoam) and was just right, my friend had the "Cliff" Panini that smelled wonderful and she said tasted just as good as it smelled, along with a chai latte that also had the best aroma. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Cant wait to go back and try the Raspberry Chipotle Cream Cheese Appetizer, among other things. Good prices, GREAT food, & very homey atmosphere! Plus, there was the added bonus of downtown Greer. Id never been before and there are some really cute shops to discover.

Ever wonder what it would be like to put a cool New York City coffee shop into a quaint small town like Greer, SC? If so, then Stomping Grounds is the place to go. Whether youre looking for a 7am coffee to get your day going, or a 9pm dessert w/hot tea to close out your day, you wont go wrong here. They also serve bagels, salads, and several other light foods. Most evenings showcase some of the areas musical talent. Acoustical guitar, a solo chello, or smooth vocals will set the perfect relaxing mood. The owner has done a wonderful job renovating this space to the coffee shop downtown Greer has needed for years. Definitely stop in if youre in the area!

We dine at Stomping Grounds on a regular basis and have never had a bad plate of food or cup of coffee. They are the best coffee shop in Greer hands down, with the friendliest staff! They treat us like family. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and makes for a great place to hang out and unwind. Every time we visit, theyre offering up new food items... the newest being ice cream, just in time for summer! Check them out, you wont be disappointed.

Love this coffee shop! This place really adds some cool culture to downtown Greer. Ive had quite a few items on the menu and love them all. The Cliff Panini is my favorite sandwich. The lattes and coffees are all good. The coffee is from a local roaster in Spartanburg. I come here at least weekly for meetings or just to hang out with friends. Make sure to try some of the bakery items from the Chocolate Toad as well!

Ive been coming here for years and its always a great experience. The comfortable atmosphere is great for catching up with friends or getting some writing done. The coffee is good and they also offer a variety of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and they offer fun extras like live music throughout the month. Its one of my favorite hangouts!
