I would give negative stars if I could. This place is a JOKE. My daughter had a new patient appointment to see Claire Proffer, for shoulder pain, and waited for almost 4 hours to get seen, got told to wait for a call for a referral to get an MRI, and to schedule a 2 week follow up. That call didnt come, so I called back to get told that the referral was never sent to the right person to send said referral. So I got that straight, then got called and told that it would be 3 weeks to get the MRI, and that my daughter couldnt be seen until 3 weeks after that. So I talked to a gal in the office, asking what I should do about the pain in the mean time, the pain has gotten worse since she was seen and given a prescription steroid. I got told to take her to the er, that she couldnt be seen without the MRI, and that no other doctor could see her, because Proffer "knows her". She saw my daughter one time, shes going to read a note. So then, the day before the MRI the imaging place calls me and tells me that the insurance has yet to approve the MRI, and that they had to cancel the appointment. So I call my insurance company. They tell me they requested more info from Proffer and have yet to get a response. I call the office and tell them what the insurance carrier said. They tell me my daughter is scheduled for an MRI tomorrow...no joke, I said that already. After about 4 times of going around in circles, I get put to a voicemail of a nurse. I left a message and never got a call back. So I just called again, and was told that Proffer would be calling me. Awesome. IDK why, the Insurance carrier is going to deny the claim because they didnt get a response in time. Im going to take my family to Brandi Reynolds, who I go to. Shes located pretty far out in Pamplico, but its worth the drive to me. I could drive an hour and it would be worth it, Id still get home sooner than if I stayed with Hope Health, AND my family will also get actual medical care, not whatever it is you want to call this. ***Update*** I called again yesterday, because I didnt hear back from Dr. Proffer, and I was told that someone had called me back the day before, at the number on file. I had left my work number on the message because my cell phone was dead. I was told that the nurse put notes on my daughters chart saying Dr. Proffer doesnt do "Peer to Peer" (which basically means she wont speak to my insurance company to provide further information, which means my daughter doesnt get her MRI and the claim is denied). They said they would leave another message for Dr. Proffer to call me, that she doesnt close until 7:30 and I would hear from her that night. This was 5/24/17 at 4:45 pm. It is now 12:42 pm on 5/25/17 and I have YET to get a phone call. It is absolutely negligible that a so called medical provider does not provide actual medical care. She said that my daughters shoulder was "crunchy" and it needed an MRI, and prescribed her prednisone. Its obviously an issue, but nobody is trying to help. Im thinking I might have to call a patient advocate. I wont put up with it, and I will leave the practice, however I will NOT go quietly. This is absolutely unacceptable.

If you like long wait times, bad medical advise, and surprising medical bills Hope health is the place to go! My Husband started going to Hope Health November 2016 to help manage his newly diagnosed high blood pressure. Because Hope Health was so close to his work he was okay with waiting 2 sometime 3 hours in the waiting area, before even being seen by a nurse. besides the horrible long wait time hope health has to offer. It seems like they also enjoy offering no education to people newly diagnosed of high blood pressure, and was surprised my husband has high blood pressure because he has a normal body weight. My husband wasnt given any print out or information about diet changes or life style changes before putting him on blood pressure medication. instead they told him to just come back in two weeks if your blood pressure is still high we will start you on blood pressure medication. fast forward 6 months We finally get a bill from Hope Health, after six office visit, for the first time since he has been a patient. The bill was over 400 and included office visits since November of 2016. My husband was never charged anything at the time of his doctor and nurses visits, and he even asked before leaving each time if there were any outstanding bills. How does a company not ask for payment for over six months? In addition, Hope Health charges the same amount for a nurses visit as a doctors visit. I hope the nurses get paid well.

I have been a patient of Doctor Culpepper for years, since he practiced in his old HopeHealth office where I received excellent healthcare services. Though ever since hes moved to this office, its been horrible. Every time I call I am connected to answering machines that dont say who they are for. No one ever calls back. I left dozens of messages with the patient advocate, who never bothered to call me back and let me know what was happening (or not happening) with my referral to a specialist. I have had a sinus infection for two weeks, and have called and asked for help every day this week, and been ignored. It took his nurse five weeks to fill out a form I needed for work properly. I could have lost my job. I had to talk to a supervisor (who was unavailable) to get that paperwork filled out correctly. I hate to leave such an experienced and compassionate doctor, but I cant take this offices treatment much longer. I feel constantly blown off, ignored, and like a chore the staff just dont feel like dealing with. The ladies in the lab excluded, at least they are friendly and professional.

do not take the time to actually help you with your problems, you wait around for about two hours then talk to the doc for less than ten minutes, its extremely hard to get in contact with your doctor, and when you have to go some Where else to find out you have a medical issue, (that you already told your Dr. Was a concern), they should be ashamed, I have had ovarian cysts for well over a year and am in extreme pain, I cant have them removed for awhile, and what does my doctor do to help ease any uncomfort and pain, nothing. It took dr.licari a split second to spit out some kind of medication for anxiety and chronic depression, it made me shakey and extremely suicidal. Ive been battling this issue with Drs for way longer than a person should have to. A person goes to the doctor not to be miserable, and my experience at hope health has been nothing but. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

Went to this place because they were the only doctors office that had appointments available within two weeks. On the day of my appointment I was trying to discuss my issues to my doctor when I was told there was nothing he could do for me. He then instructed me that I wasnt going to be charged and I could go. As I left I asked for my $20 co pay back. Before receiving that the doctor yelled out from behind the counter that he would only return it if I promised not to come back. Very bad experience and will never return. There is several other great doctors in Florence that have a lot more experience. This place was not booked for a reason and now I see why.
