In July 2017, I bought a pack of chicken wings at this store, after getting home I placed it in the refridgerator because I need to prep it for cooking the following day. The following morning as I ripped the wings from the package I realized it was slimy and had an odor, I phoned the store, they told me to put in freezer until am able to return it. On my return i did not have my receipt, I was told I should go get another packet of wings, I refused, I told him to give a store credit or something indicating that I had returned the meat so I can get something else at a later date because I have no idea what I want at the moment, he told me, " we dont do that here"!and off course I was forced to purchase other items of equal value, because , according to the man I have no prove of method of payment. Now, he gave me back the change from the new items... I just shook my head, I told him that he had taught me a lesson It just grows to show that they are very dishonest people and its all about the money, the meats in that place is rotten, thats why they are so cheap, obviously people who shop there are accustom to eating garbage, I swear to you, I will never go back there. Every time I see chicken now I want to puke. Intially I had no one to blame but myself, the moment I pulled into that parking lot, the people heading in and coming out and, the odor that hits you at the entrance should have been a big indicator that something was off... now I know! ... PUN INTENDED!

The meat selection here beats every store in town. They have good old fashioned butchers who know their meat. Also they carry some eclectic items you wont find elsewhere. Plus shopping here is always like taking a trip back in time. They carry a lot of SC Grown certified produce. While not a fancy store, this store is an amazing place to find certain items. Locals know why Doschers is the last of the "original" Charleston grocers.

There needs to be negative stars. Blood dripping out of the bottom of the coolers. Meat packaging with tears. Have you ever seen the other stores have "certified" or "grade A" meats? I always thought it was marketing but I have found where the "grade B" meats go. It would be a great place to get bait for crab traps. Make sure you do not get some disease when you go in to get your bait.

This is not a "nice" grocery store. It is not high end. What it is and always has been is the ONLY store in town where you can buy the staple cuts of meat for lowcountry and Gullah cuisine, like smoked hocks and jowls and Turkey wings, oxtail and neck bones, and a whole bunch of different cuts. I even found goat meat here for Jamaican goat curry. Support for local family businesses!

Bought some meat that was bad I gave the manager a call and informed him I was going to bring it back he said ok once I got their i was sent to the back (meat department) the gentleman who helped was so rude in giving me the exchange he acted like it was my fault they sold me bad chicken.

The meat in these store both remount and Highway 17 always have a rotten smell to them i mean I have bought meat that I had to throw away b/c they smelled stink thats why i punch a little hole to smell before I purchase

Doschers is an old fashioned, community grocery store. The clientele is blue collar, and the selection is modest. They have low prices and one of the last functioning supermarket Butcher shops.
