I will never shop at this location ever again. I was shopping about 2 weeks ago on a sunday afternoon. I had been in the store for about 20 mins i was looking for the kat von d eye contour palette it was out of stock. So one of the girl recommend the make up forever palette great i loved it threw it in the basket as i continued to shop adding more and more to my basket. I was now at the urban decay section i was talking with an a associate about a few different colors. She opened the draw and show me a color. I at the time refused. She recommended a different color in a different brand. She walked away from me and i decided that i did want the colors she just showed me and i opened the draw to get it. I was rudely approced by this woman that works there very shut the draw on me told me i could do that and if i need help i should ask someone. The rude asked me if i wanted her assistance. I was shocked. So i put it back and told her i was all set with her help. As i walked around the display case she called over the radio what i had done and also told another co worker to keep an eye on me. I was very insulted im not sure if it was because i was not wearing make up and was dressed down . To be treated like that. I thought to my self well maybe shes just having a bad day. She proceed to talk about me to other shoppers. Thats wear i drew the line. I turned around and said to her " i can hear you and i dont appreciate you talking about me as if im not standing here". She said "yeah so". I told her "i could go shop somewhere else then". She told me "maybe i should do that then". At this point i was upset. The girl that was helping me was walking back over and seen the look on my face and asked what was wrong never have i been treated so poorly. She asked what girl it was i described her she has short bleach blond hair heavy set with her nose peirced in the middle. Turns out she is a MANAGER!!! I was appalled that this woman talks and treats people like that. The girl asked if i wanted to speak to another manager. As she anxiously walked away to go get her. I put my basket down that had about $200 in it down on the chair and walked out. On my way home i was still upset. So i called the store to get her name and the number to corporate. The girl told me they cant give out names conveniently. Then the other manager got on the phone with she did help a little. As I told her what had happen. She was very apologetic and offered me a free make over. In which i declined. I wasnt looking for anything for free. You are sapose to make people feel beautiful when they leave here not ugly. No one should be treated like that. I also work with alot of girls that love makeup i was sure to tell all of them my story, my friends as well and they will also no longer shop there. You never know who you are speaking with or where they work. You should never judge a book by the cover.

The store itself is beautiful and organized. I have had some encounters with AMAZING and helpful employees, especially in skincare, and they certainly have some great employees at the Garden City Sephora. But, the exceptionally horrible employees have made me feel compelled to write this review. There is a woman I believe is a manager, she has curly blonde hair and is not a typical sales associate, she looks about 40 years old. Today she caused me to feel uncomfortable to the point where I left without buying the items I wanted. As I checked out new merchandise in the front of the store, I watched her stand at the front door like a bodygaurd, giving people dirty looks including myself and her incessant staring made me feel uncomfortable. Every time I go to this store she consrantly does this, and makes many others feel uncomfortable and unwanted as well. Its as if shes treating the customers like criminals and I dont feel comfortable going back to that store anymore after one too many of these encounters. Many of the other employees Ive met seem very judgmental and unapproachable and do the same "dirty look" thing, but that woman is certainly the worst.

Well, I was afraid to go to this store with all the bad reviews. However, I had a great experience there. Greeted with a nice hello upon entering the store. I asked a sales associate (Abby ) for assistance. She was as nice as could be. She helped me pick out some new makeup. Even though another customer was waiting for her, I did not feel rushed. After deciding on my purchase, I proceeded to checkout. Once again the sales associate was very nice. Upon leaving I was greeted with "good bye and have a nice day". I originally went to the one at JC Penney, Warwick where the 2 associates WERE rude and did not want to help me even though there was no one else in the store. I will be going back to the one in Garden City in the future. Well, I went back today to return the lipstick without a problem. However, I wanted help to look for a different lipstick and all associates were busy with customers. I started to get upset. I think they might need more help. Because they take makeup back, I just picked one out myself.

Never again...As someone who shops these stores for my wife I have yet to encounter such a terrible group of employees. From the lady who looked like she dunked her face in a bowl of waffle batter before coming to work....to the woman who had less of a clue than I did about a product my wife wanted these people were the absolute worst. Im shocked that these people are "beauty consultants" when they look like their make up was applied with a waffle iron. Not only did they have no idea what items were on sale, they couldnt find anything in their store, and even worse they didnt know what anything actually was. I went to Ulta at 3 in the morning of Black Friday and the girls there couldnt have been more helpful. They knew exactly what i wanted and even helped me pick out a few extra items for my wife and gave me a bunch of free samples. Sephora is a joke.....we will buy our big dollar items elsewhere If waffle face is reading this....you suck at doing your makeup...find a new job

Shame on the clientele and some of their reviews! If youre going to be shady, then Im pretty sure the staff is going to give you extra attention; it the logical thing to do. Who goes through the drawers for the makeup they need? I have gone in with both makeup and without makeup and I have never had a difference in treatment. The consultants were always helpful, when they werent swamped, and always took the extra time to answer my questions. Ive have a few incidents where I didnt get help because they just were too busy but otherwise dont have any real issues. Cashiers sometimes look like theyve had better days but most of them still take the time to give you proper treatment despite that. If you expect more than what is humanly possible then you should totally work in retail and give it a try!!! Just because you flash your red card doesnt mean you get extra special treatment. They likely can accommodate most things but they arent your slaves.
