For the past forty years I have been buying my diamonds from a jeweler on Jewelers Row in Philadelphia. I feel that you have to have trust in a jeweler especially if you are making an expensive purchase such as a diamond. My entire family went to the same jeweler. I happened to go to Block Jewelers as I was in need of gifts for my employees for Administrative Professionals Day. As I was perusing the diamonds, I met Jason a sales associate there and Gary, one of the owners. After experiencing the professionalism and knowledge shown to me by these two men, and of course seeing a beautiful diamond and ruby ring in a design that I always wanted, I decided to make a purchase. I bought the ruby and diamond ring as well as the other gifts. My trust in them is as good as the trust that I have in my forty year relationship with my past jeweler. I am the type of person that researches everything, and the internet has made that so easy now. I have knowledge in precious gems and my buying experience has also helped with knowing the costs of such things. Block Jewelers is one of the most reputable jewelers in the area. After speaking to both Jason and Gary and experiencing first hand their expertise in the diamond industry, I would recommend them highly to anyone in the market for jewelry especially precious gems. I appreciate the customer service, the expertise, and of course the prices! This has now become my favorite jewelry store and its great that its local so no more trips into Center City Philadelphia!

I came here with my now fiance, looking for an engagement ring. The owner, Gary, helped us, showing us different rings and diamonds that he had in stock and telling us rough pricing to give us a general idea. My fiance wanted a band that was unique and Gary told us he could have whatever she wanted made. We found something close to what she wanted online and sent it over to him. Gary and his team scoured their resources and found a company they use that had a band very similar to what she wanted. He had the band brought in, we went and looked at it and requested some modifications to it. Gary worked with us to get the band to be exactly what she wanted! Not only was he patient with us on getting the exact band, but working with him on finding the perfect diamond was great. I do a lot of research before making purchases so I learned all that I could about diamonds. I gave Gary my criteria on what diamond I would like and my budget, then he brought in diamonds that met all of that. He was very helpful in explaining the different diamond grading institutions and was very knowledgeable about diamonds. Even after having him bring in more and more diamonds he was still very patient and wanted me to get the best diamond I could. I ended with a perfect diamond and band and my fiance could not be happier. She gets compliments all the time on how beautiful her ring is! Thank you Gary and the rest of the employees at Block Jewelers for all of your help throughout this process!

My Fiancee and I went shopping for wedding rings and an engagement ring at several major stores in the malls as well as free standing store all were big named stores. They all seemed rather busy and said here look at catalogs and that was that. No interaction between seller and buyer. We then went to Blocks and a lady by the name of Tena took her time with us and when we could not find what we were looking for it was suggested that maybe they could make the ring. We were then introduced to Gary who also listened to us and said that they could make the ring. Of course we were nervous not being jewelry type people. Gary took his time with us and reassured us thru the whole process. No question we had during the process of the rings being made went unanswered. Came in for fittings different times of the week. We are very pleased not only with the rings but also with the politeness and honesty with everyone in this jewelry store. Upon final look Gary said come back any time for a cleaning. I dont know what more he could have done. We would recommend this shop as we were looking for rings and ended up having our rings made and are completely satisfied.

I have been into Blocks a couple of times now and bought a ring for my girlfriend there, Tina helped me she was very nice and spends a lot of time with you, also tries everything she can to help get what you want. Them few times of being in there before buying the ring some other lady TRIED helping us but she was always kind of rude and not helpful at all. I do not know her name but she is short with short hair. Finally went in to ask a couple of questions, she was the only one available so she waited on us and i will say she was very rude and has a attitude and is not personable, this is not the first time it has happened but was disrespectful. I do not know how someone like that can work at a jewelry store. Other than her we never had any problems and is a shame that one person can keep you out of a store.

We have been dealing with Blocks for a decade. When it came time for purchasing an engagement ring we knew this was the place to go. Gary is unbelievably helpful, knowledgeable and patient. He walked us through all of the possible choices without pressure. There are so many things that we learned about diamonds that no other jeweler explained. We felt that he respected our budget and did all that he could to help keep us within that budget. He went way above and beyond to be sure that we got the best quality and quantity possible. No other place came close. All of the sales staff are always friendly, caring and helpful. We will recommend him to all of our friends and family. I have used Block Jewelers for years. Not only have both my husband and I purchased jewelry, we have also had it repaired and appraised. Gary Block has always been helpful and the staff is always pleasant and greet you as soon as you walk through the door. They have always been up front and honest about what they are able to do and how much it would cost before having anything done. The jewelry they sell is fairly priced and is absolutely gorgeous. I have never had a problem with anything purchased from them. When looking to purchase, they show you things within your price range. If they dont have something, they are able to order it and can even customize jewelry. I have never had a bad experience here and highly recommend anyone looking for quality jewelry at a great price, visit this store!

I was interested in purchasing an opal pendant that was posted on sale for $179. When I expressed interest, the sales associate told me that the pendant was actually $379., which was on a tag, that she did not show me. After she spoke with the manager, she told me they would sell me the pendant for $40. less that $379. This is almost $200. more than the price which was posted. Furthermore, they claimed their opals were genuine. They had another opal pendant for $379, which was very clearly a simulated opal, that the sales associate told me was "fiery and genuine". The sopalthat I wanted to buy,I think was genuine, but was "milky" and not worth the inflated price they attempted to sell to me.
