Our whole foods is pretty small, and it sucks that Pennsylvania has such awful alcohol laws that we cant have wine here... But otherwise I love our whole foods. First and foremost - its not giant eagle!! Most the stuff we buy is cheaper here and of incomparable quality. I absolutely agree with the other reviewer in challenging you to compare prices. It literally is cheaper or the same price for equal or better quality items. Im outraged every freakin time I find myself in a giant eagle for some stupid reason (about once or twice a year.) You can, sometimes (ONLY sometimes), find things cheaper - but not of nearly the same quality. The only exception Ive found is steak. Second - our whole foods is pretty chill and not nearly as pretentious as many places (Dallas comes instantly to mind.) Theres occasional aggression in the parking lot, and its hard to shop without getting in someones way or wishing the person in your way would get on with it already - but overall people are nice here and I think most people try to be considerate. Finally - after years of shopping here, we kinda like how small it is. Its cozy. When we visit other stores we kinda miss ours (not that we wouldnt accept that expansion that was supposed to happen.)

ot a frequent critic but i felt compelled to share my experience. I recently visited wholefoods in Shadyside and went to the deli counter, was served by a rude, disgruntled employee, Quincy. He was very impolite, made me feel like I was under pressure to make a choice ,didnt answer all of my questions, when I asked for multiple samples he scoffed and rolled his eyes at me. It was a very uncomfortable situation and I dont think I will ever go back as long as they employ people like that. Very disappointed. ..buyer beware !! I posted to yelp to spread the word ... I expected service to match the food quality ...completely ruined my perspective of wholefoods

Many complain about WFMs price points. I challenge these individuals to visit another local grocer and return home with a bounty of local and organic items of comparable freshness for any less. I firmly believe that it cant be done. The fish and cheese mongers at WFM are incredibly knowledgeable and nearly every employee is more than happy to go out of their way to help you find that for which you are searching. Further, this company puts a lot of money and time back into the community. One tip: park as far away as possible from the entrance and hoof it to the doors; the walk is worth avoiding the parking lot nightmare.

This is definitely my familys primary go-to place for groceries. The parking lot is generally a nightmare, so dont be in a hurry unless you can walk to this location. You will be waiting or parking far away like we do. The prices are much better than people think for the product youre getting. Just make smart choices. They also have a great section for supplements and vitamins and other health related products. The "driving" of carts in the store is similar to that of the parking lot. Bring extra patience with you for your shopping here. Very helpful and friendly staff. They need more space for carts at the registers.

I give a three star because: 1. Everything is over-priced. Seriously. I shouldnt spend $9 on a can of coffee. College students and low-income families that want to get healthy organic food cant afford Whole Foods prices. 2. It is always packed here. You fight for a parking spot all the time. My car actually got hit last year in this parking lot. Good thing I won the claim and the person that hit me paid for the damages! 3. Their employees are very friendly and courteous. I know the customer service trainer there (Kristen) and she is fabulous!

Decent foods. Excellent customer service! I went there for a last minute cake for our anniversary. The lady at the cake stand made a nice writing on it but the color was not outstanding. I said its nice but I would prefer a brighter color. She was happy to make it without a raise of eyebrows. Update, I came back for anniversary cake again. This time, I pick quite a small one, but the lady did try her best to write the note on it. And, I received warm congratulations from two ladies at the cake stand and the cashier. They made our day!

On Centre Ave there is limited parking by the store, always full of drivers going after too few spaces. 3X the parking , some under cover, at the far end but many customers seem too important to walk. The for-profit national supermarket that looks and feels like a not-for-profit local food co-op. Interesting food stuffs, local fresh and organic meats. and fruit. Knowledgeable staff. Trying too hard to be hip, to the point where the staff look like they are in uniform.

This is a great branch and the staff here are AMAZING! The selection is limited compared to other locations because it is a smaller store, but Ive always found what I needed. The only reason I gave four instead of five stars is because the parking lot is completely inadequate for the customer base. They are aware of this and expanding soon, so once the expansion occurs and the parking is increased Id easily give five stars!

The parking lot at Whole Foods is enough for me to not shop here, because I always have to fight with someone for a parking space. All of the food in the store is colorful and beautiful, however; its all very overpriced. The nickname "whole paycheck" definitely applies. Giant Eagle Market District, Trader Joes, and the East End Food Co-op are all within a 5 minute drive, too, so I rarely choose Whole Foods.

Wow, this place can be overwhelming at first. So many different options in comparison with a regular grocery store. And, if youre not terribly wealthy, it can be hard to know what things are actually worth your money. I think it would take a few trips (or maybe certain dietary restrictions) to help my narrow down my shopping in Whole Foods. As it was, I walked out of there wanting much but buying little.

Its Whole Foods. What more is there to say. Simply the best grocery store in the United States. Wish there was more of these in smaller cities. The prices are expensive, but you get the best food money can buy. Its a really great place to get your groceries especially if you want to eat healthy. If you live in Pittsburgh you should give Whole Foods a try. Its the Apple of grocery stores!

So this Whole Foods seems to be doing its part to shake the "whole paycheck" stigma. There are so many sale priced items now that for good quality food, theyre becoming more comparable. The service is great. Its a smaller Whole Foods, but covers the basics. Selection is fresh. The only downside is that the very small parking lot is often extremely crowded.

Whole Foods is my favorite grocery store in Pittsburgh. I do not mind paying a little more for food when I know it is organic or GMO free. The produce and salad bar is always fresh. The workers are friendly and always willing to help. The only thing I do not like is that the parking lot is always packed if you do not get there by 10am on the weekends.

This WFM is small, so it doesnt have as much as we might like, but its pretty good considering the city its in. Parking is terrible (but where in Pittsburgh is parking no terrible?). Prepared food here is better than almost anywhere in Western PA. The other Pittsburgh Whole Foods is larger, but the prepared food is almost dismal compared to here.
