My experience with Bavarian Motorsport began when I called to inquire about a 2003 BMW 325xi on Monday, June 20, 2016, and spoke with Suzanne. From the moment she answered the phone, I knew that this place was like none other. Suzanne was amazing on the phone and exhibited great patience by answering about a hundred questions I had about the vehicle. About five minutes into the conversation, Suzanne not only earned my trust, but became a friend. I am 52 years old and I have never experienced such a combination of competency and friendliness as with Suzanne even though she had two appointments getting ready to walk in the door when I called. Regarding the vehicle I purchased, let me preface by saying that I am almost impossible to please. I am a perfectionist who talks a lot and wants to know everything about what I am purchasing. The bimmer I was considering was a one-owner vehicle that had been maintained flawlessly. Other than some really minor wear and tear, the car was flawless. One thing I noticed was that the BMW hood roundel was extremely faded from 13 years of being exposed to the elements. When I mentioned to Suzanne that this was my first BMW and that it was important to me for that part of the car to really shine, the old, faded roundel was replaced with a brand new one in less than 15 minutes. Mind you that I had not yet committed to buying the car. Another issue was that the cloth was coming loose on both A pillars. Initially, it was thought that nothing could be done to address it, but Suzanne took the time, after closing, to find a new pillar cover online cheaper than I could purchase anywhere else. I share these two examples to demonstrate that the folks at Bavarian Motorsport will do everything within their power to exceed your needs and expectations even if it costs them extra time and/or a few bucks. Now, regarding their service department. Because there was one item that needed to be addressed following my test drive, I got to meet Karen, their Service Manager. What made Karen so special is that she took the time to provide me with a total cost of maintenance and repairs for every service performed on the vehicle. She also took the time to explain why each was done and what to expect down the road from a service standpoint. Let me put it this way. I live one hour and ten minutes from this place and I will drive there for all my services and repairs. They provide a 2-year/ 24,000 mile warranty on all labor and parts. What other repair shop does that? Although I am very picky, I am also very loyal and I can tell you unequivocally that I will not even consider going anywhere else to purchase a pre-owned vehicle or have on serviced. Oh yeah, the owner is also fantastic. She genuinely cares about her customers. Obviously, I highly recommend these guys. :)

Pros: The staff are very friendly, my initial experience was very pleasant, and I was initially very happy with the car I purchased. Cons: After I test drove the car (2000 Mustang GT), I noticed that the radiator fluid light was on. The man who sold me the car (I think it was the owner), told me that his mechanics looked at the car and they determined that it was simply the sensor on the radiator fluid reservoir that needed to be replaced. He offered to do it for me for like 250.00 but, I figured I would try cleaning the sensor myself before replacing it. Well, turns out that the intake manifold was cracked, which I did not realize until radiator fluid sprayed all over my windshield (mind you I had about 100 miles on the car at this point). I had it towed to a local garage and had the intake manifold replaced. In total the bill was 750.00 and 100.00 for the tow. The bright side, or at least I thought, was that I had a power-train warranty that was still active. It was active, but it covered less than half the cost of repairs and none of the towing expense. The C.A.R.S warranty people (the company my warranty was through) were very nice but, they also did everything they could to not pay for anything. A simple google search on their (C.A.R.S) company shows that I am not the only one that this had happened to. However, the thing that really made me mad is that it turned out that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the fluid sensor. So, there are three scenarios to explain this: 1. The owners mechanics are incompetent. 2. They are liars. or 3. He knowingly sold me a car that had a major issue. On top of that the convertible top leaks significantly (1500.00 to replace) and I have an appointment to have the transmission looked at because it sometimes has issues catching going from first to second gear (its an automatic). As I said, they are very friendly people however, I strongly caution purchasing a vehicle from them, and if you do, have a competent mechanic inspect it first.

I have been here twice and have had bad experiences both times. On my first visit my 2008 328xi engine was missfiring due to bad spark plugs, upon arrival they told that they were going to take a look at it and i happily sat down in their waiting area. 30 min later the service lady came to talk to me and said so we found your problem, she went ahead and listed about 30 different things that they thought was wrong with my car and then gave me prices for all. All i wanted was the sparkplugs replaced i said, she continued to persuade me to get 3000 dollars worht of service, which i disagreed to. Finally she said im sorry we cant fix your spark plugs we dont carry them.... and I had to leave... On my second visit I decided to givw them a second chance since its the only place mear me that specializes on European cars. I needed my frm module reset to get my left angel eye working as many bmw owners know all bmw electronis are controlled via computers inside the footwell (frm). I explained what i needed and they all looked at me like I was crazy and they proceeded to very rudely tell me i was wrong and that they have never heard of anything like that. I felt very angered I knew more about BMWs then they did. They said that thry could try to fix it for 1200. I got up and left the store. Do not take your bmw there. Waste of time and money.

Update: Ive brought various cars to this place multiple times since my original review below. They are the absolute best. Always get me in quickly and are very good at diagnosing and fixing problems at a fair price. I sincerely trust this place...not something that comes easily to me in regard to auto repair. On top of all of that they are very friendly and communicate clearly and regularly while the car is in their care. Honestly, Ive been driving for 30 years and dont think Ive appreciated an auto repair place more, ever. ------------------------------- I brought my 2004 Audi in for oil change, inspection, check engine light, and to get a number of noises checked out. They got me in on very short notice and performed high quality service. There were a number of things the car needed (brakes, tires, wiper blades, tie rod, alignment, etc), but none were unexpected and all were at a highly competitive price. I had a positive interaction with the folks at Bavarian Motorsport and got the car back looking very nice (very nice mini detail). I will return and would recommend.
