They followed me to my car and accused me of stealing!...Twice! The first time my bf went in to buy a kombucha (tea drink) he browed for a few minutes then after noticing they did not sell the brand he wanted, left the store empty handed. As he was leaving an employee approached him, claiming he saw him put something in his pocket. The second time, a few weeks later, I went in an purchased a buffet salad for lunch. As I got to my car I noticed an employee standing there looking at me. He then asked to see a receipt for my salad and when I told him I had left it at the self check out he told me to hand over the salad! I was extremely offended that we would accuse me of stealing. I told him that I did not in fact steal anything and that if he tried to take it from me I would sue him. After that he proceeded to tell ME to calm down then walked away! Seriously?!? I am a business owner and can afford to buy my lunches! Needless to say I wont be going back there again. Shame on you Safeway for treating paying customers like conniving thieves.

I will never set foot in a Safeway again. I have shopped at the Safeway on Commercial street in Salem Oregon for years and spent countless thousands of dollars on groceries. In the past month one of their cashiers started sexually harassing me while checking out and after reporting to management the different incidents, nothing has been done about it. The cashier tried to pressure me into inviting him over and would say in a loud voice in front of other customers "you look like you need a massage." I submitted a written statement on Sunday and never heard back. After calling today I was told that I should simply let them know if it keeps happening. I would go to self check out to avoid him and he would leave his station to follow me. I am very upset that a predator remains in direct contact with customers. I am telling all my friends and family to shop elsewhere.

im new to town and live down the road from this Safeway, at first i thought this was a great convenience but ive since learned....this is one of the worst grocery stores, period. ive lived here 3 months and during that time they have never refilled the bulk coffee - i ask about this (since its cheaper by the lb and i like to buy whole bean) and they always have some excuse about the warehouse being out - BS - the other Safeways around town have no problem bulk stocking coffee. then theres the produce....most of it is rotten or close to it. they have a gross lack of variety and little to no organic produce besides apples and potatoes. this place is horrifically expensive, $4 for a can of $1.30 coconut milk, box of crackers on sale for $3.50 that Fred Meyers has regularly for $2.50....safe yourself the hassle and go ANYWHERE else.

The pharmacy at this Safeway is terrible. I am a college student, and have been asked repeatedly whether I "have money to pay" for my prescriptions. I am consistently treated in a condescending manner by the staff. Prescriptions are not available when promised, and the staff are, again, incredibly rude. Ive changed my prescriptions over to Target. Ill not be shopping for food at this location in the future, either. Id like the manager of this Safeway to store to know that in addition to losing my prescription sales, hes lost about $75 a week in other purchases I make. Thats an awful lot of money to pay because of a consistently rude clerk in your pharmacy area. Am sharing my bad experience with other students.

First time in years that we have shopped at this location, staff that were working very friendly. As we were leaving we pulled out on the side of the building (we were still in the parking lot not on the street)which was apparently a one way and a guy was pulling in from the street, proceeded to block our car and refused to move he then informed us that he was an employee at the store and he proceeded to reprimand us for an honest mistake. Unfortunately that employee ruined an otherwise pleasant experience, we will continue to shop at Safeway but not the center street location.

Wow, it was the first and last time Ill ever be shopping here. First, you have to sign up in order to get their "club" prices.... Annoying, but ok Ill play along. In addition, the staff is apathetic at best, a beer they had priced at $4 rang up for $8. The cashier could have cared less they had it priced wrong. I walked out without my beer. The deli was out of mustard packets and it took 5-8 minutes to even be acknowledged on a slow Sunday morning. There are a ton of other stores that are much more deserving of your hard earned cash than this place. Dont bother going in.

Probably the worst experience I had for a while at a grocery store. I went on to get lunch at the deli counter and got their express special. I got 1/2 a scoop of "Mongolian beef" and a few noodles. The kid put the lid on and it clearly wasnt the correct lid for the container but instead of finding the right one he taped it on there, which would have been fine except he put the sticker on the lid so when went to scan it I had to turn it upside down. Clearly there is no training done to show employees what right looks like. Do yourself a favor. Skip Safeway.

Cashiers are nice but Deli is cheap because primotaglio is worth $10 a pound and they give you the ass of the meat, the pharmacy cant figure how the hell to pull a handle and fill a pill bottle, and the cart pushers are so condenscending and RUDE! My mother cannot walk very far without her walker and someone took her basket while she was up at the pharmacy. She asked if one of the cart pushers brought a basket and look3d at her and said you cant walk without a basket? I almost want to give them zero stars but the cashiers are nice at the very least.

Way too expensive but they do offer most anything as far as groceries. They also have a pharmacy and their bakery is awesome! Lots of fresh fruit and veggies both organic and regular options as well as a deli with freshly prepped hot foods and a small salad bar and a Starbucks coffee stand inside the store too. Everything is WAY overpriced though but convenient for downtown residents like myself with limited transportation to get to other grocery stores with lower prices and better selections.

All the good employees are fired or screwed over in one way or another. I hear management speaking rudely to employees. The prices are definitely higher than Fred Meyer and most certainly higher than Winco. You almost always have to wait in long lines because they understaff, and when you ask management about it they say, "We need to have the money to schedule for more hours." Basically theyre ripping off their customers and wasting their time. Crappy place...
