Ive had my leather La-Z Boy set for about 5 years now (recliner, love-seat with double recliners, sofa with recliners)... I have previously purchased La-Z Boy furniture and loved it - lasted forever! (Actually, I still have two chairs from 1987...). However, - the "new" furniture is nowhere near the quality of the old... The cushions have broken down (the foam in the seats doesnt hold up at all.) I was told by a repairman (sent out by the store) that a few years ago the foam-rubber used in cushions was changed because of environmental issues, and is now much more expensive. There is still good quality foam available, but it is even more expensive, and the foam rubber now used in La-Z Boys is not the best available. Also, the leather is not great quality... the dye is more like an applied paint of some sort on the sofa & love seat - where heads rub on the back, it looks like the "dye" just rubs off and leaves a white area - Id understand if it was discolored or darkened from hair oils, but this is weird! The recliner, with different leather, does have a darkened area on the back from head resting on it, but thats as I expected. However, the quality of workmanship in the furniture is sadly lacking now... On the recliner foot rest, there were clusters of industrial staples sticking out on the corners where the leather was wrapped ... I discovered this when I put my foot on the corner/edge of the foot rest to push it up and ripped my heel open...The seat has sagged badly as well. (The store sent someone out to remove staples and re-attach the leather and add additional foam to the seating, which has now also flattened). All in all, Ive very disappointed in the quality of materials and workmanship - and to an extent the personnel at the Salem store - and will not purchase anything La-Z boy in the future. Too bad, because Ive bought only their furniture since 1976...

I decided to buy another Lazy Boy recliner as I love the one I put in our 5th wheel. I went to the Salem Oregon store and was met by Manny Urenda who was a great kid and very helpful. I took some fabric samples back to my home and compared them to my other chairs, figured which one matched and headed back to the store. Manny was there to assist me right away and started on the paperwork while I did the application for their 6 months same as cash. So we got it all together and Manny headed back to the office to figure things out and came back shortly and told me that the needed a 150 dollar deposit. I told him I would pay for the entire order with the 6 months same as cash program up front. Manny informed me that it had to be 150.00 cash aside from the 6 months same as cash. Now at this point I was thinking that I would just pay the entire thing in cash but this policy irritated me and I told Manny that I would not pay 150.00 as that made no sense. Manny then asked the Assistant Manager Jeremy Keller why there was that policy in which he said that the financing wasnt "Real Money" and as it was special order and they needed the funds to pay the company that does the special order. Two things came to mind when he made this statement, one if it isnt real money then I must be able to pay the bill with not real money and two this store doesnt have the resources to cover 150.00 until the funding from the bank gets to them? I canceled the order and will look else where as there are many competitors that will have the resources to make this happen.

I placed a large order of furniture. Waited the appropriate amount of time for it to be ready. Called the store to find out if it was able to be delivered or get a time frame of when it would be expected. Was given a delivery date. Delivery date arrived without a phone call. Called the store to find out what happened. Was told "Im sorry youre having a problem." After explaining that I was functioning perfectly fine, and that it was in fact La-Z-Boy having the problem, was disconnected. I am working with the store manager to try to get the delivery accomplished, but Im very dissatisfied with the service of the Salem store. La-Z-Boy furniture is amazing, and the warranty is absolutely the best, but I will never buy through the Salem store again after this poor customer service experience.

Think twice about the quality of the furniture. It looks great in the showroom, but once it gets used, all bets are off. We have tried 2 lazy boy recliners and both turned out to be less than what we expected within a few months. The store wants to send a technician to "repair" it, but there is no repair for poor quality cushioning, stitching and framework. The current chair wobbles, the stitching is already pulling apart on the chaise footrest, and the cushioning on the seat is not holding up. The chair is going to the street and we will buy elsewhere. Big waste of money. The store claims they do not outsource overseas (except for a few of their leather pieces) but I tend to believe otherwise due to the poor quality of a product that used to be high quality in years past.

This was one of the best buying experiences my husband and I have ever had. There was absolutely no pressure. Never were rushed. Our salesman, Tony was extremely knowledgeable in all facets of La-Z-Boy furniture, from the fabrics to the options. We were shown all different styles and fabrics, and got to compare one over the other until we made a decision on a very relaxing time table, ours! Tony made sure we were happy with our decision and once again went over the options. This is our third furniture purchase from La-Z-Boy in the past fifteen years and although they were good experiences, and the furniture is all of great quality, Tony at the Salem store made this one of the best buying experiences ever!

I was so pleased with our La-Z-Boy experience. We purchased two Collins couches with the memory foam cushion and I am in LOVE! Everything was a breeze, staff was very friendly, informative and wonderful to work with. They have so many fabric choices, it was great to mix and match the swatches until we found our perfect fit. We had our couches delivered and it was so worth it. The delivery crew was so friendly, they even moved our old couches to the family room. Two big thumbs up to La-Z-Boy, will defenitly be purchasing from them again.

Hands down the BEST place to by a recliner. Jerame, the guy who helped me, was awesome. I came in wanting a small, blue swivel-rocker-recliner, and within seconds I was testing out at least five options. He was friendly, knowledgeable, seemed to instinctively know when I needed some space, gave me price information up-front, and never made me feel pressured. Chair was ready and waiting 3 days after I bought it, and it is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. A++

Poor service -person who started off with me shifted me to someone else who gave me misinformation, then the arm extender was not given to me, I called the store about both and was told sorry, I was only his 2nd customer as he was new ( someone should have been with home). Upon delivery of my chair, the extender was not with it as I was told it would be. Customer service and delivery was much better in 2004-2005.
